Just got my hands on one today to try out against my GH2 and with the lumix 20mm f1.7 it blew my mind. Low light is also awesome with that lens. The GH2 is no match of course as for dynamic range, but it still holds up pretty well. I won't get rid of it just yet :)
Mentioning the small sensor a bit more then just "has a big crop factor" would have been important, especially for dslr users who are used to very big sensors.
I think your frame size comparison is completely off. BMPCC uses the mFT lens mount but has no 4/3" sensor size and you labeled it misleadingly "full frame blackmagic pocket cinema camera".
I'm a little late to the game here but just bought one of these. If I were to base my decision on the footage you showed here, I would not have purchased t his camera. Check out what I did base my decision on: ruclips.net/video/Uq6ohtuy88k/видео.html

How hard is it to do rec709 conversion? Is this the same as color grading?
You forgot to mention its bad low light performance. How do you compare it to a 5D and ignore that?
Why didn't you get the black hole when you shoot the sun at 1:46.
please explain in detail what your "rec 709 conversion" is.
Thanks!
It's a LUT filter for quick color grading...
