Thorium molten fluoride salt reactors are inherently safe, modular and can be mass produced in factories. A shipping container can house a 10Megawatt reactors that will run for 30 years without refills. This is how we power the world and they can "burn" Uranium waste to make it safe! I have been talking about this idea for 10 years or so. I wish we had mass produced these units already. We have had all the knowledge from the 50s it's time to get this Western technology mass produced so we can power the future expansion of energy demand. BTW due to the fact that these reactors work at 400°c plus they are far more efficient and the heat can also be used for desalination plants and chemical plants for making hydrocarbons (car fuel) from atmospheric CO² and water etc.

Hope India would also take this route to cheaper and safer power. Kerala on south west coast is said to have substantial amount of Thorium in its coastal sands

Well considering China had just recently disclose the fact that they’ve created a new manufacturing process for steel that’s extremely high temperature and radiation resistant. And is able to produce it on an industrial scale. A thorium reactor isn’t that improbable. In fact, the steel originally was supposed to be for nuclear fusion reactor construction. And nuclear fusion reactors produce way more heat than a fission reactor
