Like many mountainous and hilly areas, reservoirs can be built to capture the few deluges they get. Build dams. Sink the water into the water table. Build canals. You don't have to do weird things like build artificial rivers. Like California, they waste resources and money.

Take a hill to fill up a hole. I like it. We could do this sending Mississippi flood waters to Arizona but we never will.

winding around hills losing altitude gradually bring water downhill it is a cost and power efficient method of moving water. Only pumping through pipes where need to cross over a mountain. you can install a power plant at the bottom of the pipe on the far side to recoup power use to pump water up from the falling water. on the downhill side. Might even be able to get a siphon effect if the other end of the pipe for getting over a mountain is lower than the intake side. Romans did that to cross large gorges and deep ravines.

They should build another Aquaduct on a slope, to shift the flood into the desert. The silt mixed with sand actually makes it have a more fertile PH. This will speed up desserfaction.

4438, what’s with it. It is more informative of its geographic climatic conditions. With enough resources, China can divert water resources to the dry regions as we had studied during our geography lesson of our eras. My geography teacher had great interest in Australia. She emphasised of the Great Basin of Australia by tapping of water from the great river, Murray river in late 60s. The government was studied to tap water resources from this great river by damming the water during the raining seasons and used it during dry season. It was talking for the last 60 over years but still did not materialise. I am very sad to learn about why the disaster had strikes Australia so often during the dry seasons where grass fire spread over the country due to lack of water for the fire department. The scenarios should have avoided if the some parts of the central river regions were dammed where water resources were being able to provide. Every government was thinking of this project and none wanted to implement for reasons unknown

@@rap3208 Come on, I just finished watching a vid on shoddy Chinese construction. Bridge pillars breaking open and sand pouring out, apartment buildings crumbling. High speed rail pillars crumbling. And the whistle blowers were the ones arrested for speaking out and nothing happened to the construction company as most were central government backed. Don't lecture me about a government that uses Uyghur slave labor for foreign and domestic construction projects. Are you a member of the CCP?

Krabgrass, what’s wrong with this video. It is more on informative of China diversions of water resources to the dry regions where rainfall is low and used of water is increasing. The Chinese people are no longer concede water by dry cleaning. They are on path with the west for their hygiene. With 23% of its lands considered useless. They will make use of its for arable lands for food security for their peoples. It is projected that the diversions of water to the west and the drought north regions, it would create a agricultural cradle for the peoples where desert land can be fully utilised

🎉China is bringing the water to a area the size of the San Jauquin Valley in California. Planning on how to feed your people and not be dependent on imports is intelligent planning . China has been working on the South/ North Canal for over 10 years.😊 Don't be jealous , because your Government can't accomplish anything !...🤣🤣🤣
