Really like how you give details, like “I cauterized the ends”, “I wouldn’t use this paint again because of yellowing”, etc. As an amateur at this it’s good to know. Thanks, just subscribed.
First DIY project, and your video and plans gave me the confidence to go for it, Thank You! For those wondering, i ended up using a total of 30 2x4's (2.4m length), ~ 250 2.5" external screws, and 2 litres of Ronseal Yacht Varnish. I used these 2x4's from B&Q (code: 3663602860891), as they were treated, kiln-dried and C16 rated. The Trend PH Jig Twin is what i used also, which worked a treat, was only £25 also! Could have gotten away with less wood i believe, but i messed up a few of the cuts. Instead of a central 4"x4" support foot , i went for the same design on the bottom of the armrests (long board on floor, two pieces at either end joined with PH and glue), which is working out quite well. My 2x4s werent long enough to be a continuous piece on the seat decking and the top back board for the big bench, so I just used two, and I used two pocket screws to join them together with some glue. It was weird using imperial measurements as I'm from the UK, but everything worked out fine in that aspect! Also, this bench is MASSIVE, make sure you have a big enough space for it before making it. Hope this helps someone whos thinking of trying it out. Will happily help anyone if they've got any questions!
Appreciate the Support!! First off, this is a very helpful comment! Second, I'm glad you got a result you were happy with! Enjoy the couch and thanks for helping out the channel! Cheers!
Thanks for watching! With today's lumber prices, I may as well of just built these couches out of gold, but maybe this will be a practical project again in a month of two. Let me know if you have any questions on the build and I will be sure to answer them!
Do you know exactly how many 2x4 you used? So I get all the wood I need at once? If not it’s okay. The video is great and can’t wait to surprise the wife!! Haha
I watch every video you post. I have just started my journey with DYI projects, so I must say I am enjoying the inspiration you give. I love the bench set, keep up the good work.
Hey man just used your plans to build a 6ft and a 4ft sofa. First time doing a project like this felt great to build something of my own. Thank you for the walkthrough and plan designs!
Great video. Love how you explain the process and don't overdo it with the background music. Liked and subbed. I'll be watching ALL of your basement diy vids
I used the rocker prior to baby delivery when I was up in the middle of the night due to heartburn and loved it! Little one is now 6 days old and loves the rocker ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXH3jIpsn6vpr3D26KWAriUejh7CSxVp7 , she gets great sleep when used. I had a 1st degree tear repair so sitting can be very uncomfortable and down right painful when the rx mortin wears off, however even then the rocker is firm enough for support but soft enough to feel comfortable. I'm 4'9" so I fit in the chair easily and my 6"3' friend also can sit comfortably in it with a little one. 💖 I would definitely recommend this rocker as a must have for any parent to be👍
Hi Andrew, just want to say thanks for the great video and plans. I have just finished the project and it looks really good in my garden so much better than the plastic rattan stuff I used to have
I am so glad that I found your channel. I am starting to renovate my house and you really motivate me! Plus, all you videos are super helpful! Thank you 😊
Just finished mine and we love it but I did upgraded that offset arm rest and just continued the back rest all the way. Thanks for all ur instruction very helpfull
Sweet video! I’m thinking of altering the plans to make a smaller one for our living room. With two growing rotties and 3 kids I need something that’s easy to clean. Thanks again!
Awesome build. I would like to build the exact same one for our patio. Will it be possible to provide to the masses, a material list and a cut list. Thanks in advance.
Nice design. One thing I noticed is that you used screws to attach the seat to the arms, placing the sheer load on the screws. I would suggest using vertical braces to avoid that.
Please can you put link for making that sofa but slowly . I want to know how many piece of wood l need . And the measures of every piece with centimeter .
I'm 6'5'' so ideally, I would like to build this to have a seat height a few inches taller. I suppose I could just change where the seats attach to that section which would also result in the "arms" being lower as well. Do you see any issues with doing it this way?
Nope - you will just need to tweak some of the measurement to suit. TBH this couch as is catered a bit to taller folk. Not 6'5" though lol Thanks for watching!
Hey Andrew. I don’t know if you mention this. I want build also a sofa like this maybe not so big like yours. So my question is which kind of wood are you using?
Can you please make a twin bed frame like this? I would love to have a twin bed built like this for my living room for my grandkids to have somewhere to sleep when they come over.
Nice, but I clicked on the link you gave for the pdf plans and all I saw was a page of spam links. I even clicked on anything that said ‘open’ and that took me to even more spam. Can you give out a direct pdf link without spam? Thanks.
Woow this is awesome you're really good 🙌 how do you do it all 😀👏 Can you make one such sofa for me and send it to me for Serbia 🇷🇸🙌😀 greetings and support for you 💪♥️
Appreciate the continued support, Jelena! What about a materials list and a "some assembly required" disclaimer instead haha. Thanks again for watching!
I think adding an approximate total lumber and cut list to your plans would go a very long way. I just started building a sectional using these plans as my main guide and optimizing my lumber and cuts definitely was time consuming. But it was also necessary as the price of lumber is so high right now!!! A cut list would have reduced my design time significantly! Thanks! Happy DIYing!

Looks so simple!Should i try it?😊
Thanks for sharing this video!
No harm in giving it a go! But honestly, they have some pretty cheap exterior furniture that you can buy as well. Choice is yours!
I have a friend that does construction and he's about to give me a whole bunch of leftover 2x4s and I will be building that thank you so much
Awesome and super helpful! I know where to go when I need to build my next couch.
If you scale it down 6X it can also function as a DIY cat sectional lol Thanks for watching!
Can you please share How much was costed you to make this sofa bench except cushions ?
What software did you use for the project?
Wow! Thank you!! I’m doing this project! Patio furniture is so expensive!
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with your project!

Hi! I have a materials list and cut list in the video description for Free download
@@AndrewThronImprovements I couldn’t find the material list when I downloaded the file. Just need to know how many 2x4’s I’ll need to buy.
I downloaded the plans, did you have a list of wood to purchase

I bought the domino used it to make similar. Wow it’s so fast compared to pocket holes !
what is the list of materials needed for this patio furniture?
Can't work out how to create an account on your website?
If only you knew how to sew you probably could've saved about $400 on the cushions! Good job man, nice couch.
Hey Andrew! Are the decking boards the same wood material as the 2x4’s?
Hey Andrew. I don’t know if you mention this. I want build also a sofa like this maybe not so big like yours. So my question is which kind of wood are you using?
Hi! This was pressure treated 2x4 lumber
Where did you buy the fire pit table?
Approx how many 2x4x10 did you use?
did you make that table? couch looks great BTW.
Hi Harold - I did actually. Video on the fire table is on my channel if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching!
Tried to download the plans but it’s not working.
Great stuff! How much timber would I need for this project? (total length of the 4 by 2) This is my next project ASAP
Hey! Just built this. I bought 95 meters (about 311 feet) of wood. Used about 90 meters.
I can’t find the plans on your site
It’s all ads
Hey Austin - try here: atimprovements.com/product/diy-sectional-sofa-plans/
@@austinclark7054 I hear you - I need to spend some time figuring out how to turn off some of the more intrusive adds.
I’m too stupid to figure out how to download this. Made an account and it doesn’t come to my email.

Stretchers should have used a clamp to pull it tight.
Where is the link?
Hi! it's in the video description!
So the plans aren’t free?
What do you mean? They are!
They are free, go to his website add to cart and you'll see a price of zero. He earned a new sub great content

I hear you Jacqueline - and I agree! I will try to get around to updating the plans when I have some free time.
Hey Jacqueline would you mind sharing?
Damn, $500 in cushions!?!?!
Isn’t that wild?! Life ain’t as cheap as it used to be.
Shit those cushions are expensive
Probably a scam to get your cc info
