    lol Justin Jefferson was the 5th receiver picked too. Now he’s the highest paid non QB. It don’t matter when you were picked!

    I’m impressed with your ability to cover every team this well, overall you’re pretty spot on with how this roster is shaking out. Some key spots that look like they may shake out differently than what you have listed:
    Brandel got a bigger deal than Risner and as it currently stands Brandel is penciled in as the starting LG with Ingram at RG, Risner will no doubt push all training camp for one of the Guard spots. Also worth noting that as bad as Ingram was as a rookie and really the first half of last season he really started to click the back half of last year and could have a solid year.
    Najee Thompson is a roster lock as a special teamer, the coaches believe him to be the second coming of Matthew Slater.
    My hope is Darnold can pull a Geno Smith and do some career resurrection here with a good situation in place for him, best of his career. This is the team that Case Keenum got 13 wins out of, so who knows!
    Thanks for all your videos man!

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 3 месяца назад

      Right now Ingram is league average - i.e. PFF grade of 60 is considered average. Ingram was a top 3 guard in his draft class, and has improved each season. Last season he outperformed the best OG from the 2022 class - Zion Johnson. Some fans are just impatient and unrealistic about the time it takes for a rookie to excel in the trenches.

    • @Broshmo
      @Broshmo  3 месяца назад

      Ingram also was ninth in penalties committed and sixth in pressures allowed for the guard position. Even if you consider him average he is creeping to the lower end of the spectrum.

    Darnold is gonna do well. He's got all the threats trashbox stat pusher Cousin's had, give the guy a chance to prove himself. Everyone so quick to call a player a bust. He literally had zero help for years when he came to the league. Not seeing that, and just following what others say shows your Football IQ

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 3 месяца назад +1

      Yes. Everyone also conveniently forgets that Cousins was awful in his first 3 seasons, even worse than Darnold, and Kirk was protected behind RGIII. Darnold is basically at the same place as Kirk was when he arrived at the Vikes, except he's about 3 years younger. Until his last 1.5 seasons with KOC, Kirk was only a .500 QB, and widely acknowledged as the reason the Vikes couldn't win a SB.
      There is no reason why Darnold won't take the KOC jump, and Kirk might even have a Matt Ryan slump losing a step coming off that injury, and losing KOC, JJ and TJ as well.

    • @Broshmo
      @Broshmo  3 месяца назад

      Would y'all put Darnold as a Top 20 starter in the NFL? That would be ludicrous. My D grades are usually rookies, year 2 starters, mid level backups. It also includes the position as a whole, so not just the starter. 99% of people probably would agree with that grade in comparison to the rest of the NFL.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Broshmo Not saying that. What I disagree with is viewing Darnold as a veteran back up and bridge QB in the same category as Geno Smith, 33, Brissett, 31, when he is only the same age as Burrow, Lamar, and Daniel Jones, and is very much still a wildcard.
      Almost everyone seems to dismiss Darnold on his Jets performances, and equally dismiss his efforts at the Panthers.
      Kirk Cousins was just a mid QB, and already 30 years old when he arrived, and didn't really gain any attention until the 13-4 season with KOC. Until then Cousins was often put forward as the reason the Vikes could never win a SB.
      Darnold's composite 2021-22 season at the Panthers was 8-9, virtually the same results as Kirk's SEVEN seasons with Washington & the Vikes before KOC arrived. I accept that wins are not necessarily a QB stat, but folks are happy to use Darnold's losing record at the Jets when it supports their argument.
      Over the past 3 seasons at the Panthers all other QBs were 5-28, including Baker at 1-6. Baker had CMC, Darnold did not.
      Darnold actually played pretty well there, and he has been much more careful with the ball these past two seasons. He arguably played just as well as Purdy in the two games when he stepped in for the 49ers.
      Folks also seem to ignore Kirk's hideous start to his career. His first 3 years were arguably worse than Sam's despite being protected behind RGIII. Kirk had 2 wins 7 losses, and threw more INTs, 19 than TDs, 18. (Sam at the Jets - 13 wins, 25 losses, 43 TDs, 38 INTs)
      Then there is the question of how much KOC, Jefferson and Hockenson "made" Cousins. Will Cousin's production decline, and Darnold's increase with the downgrade vs upgrade in talent - definitely an upgrade for Sam. Darnold is also a dangerous runner, agile in the pocket and great at QB sneaks - all vastly superior skills to Cousins that should help the offence, and O Line.
      Many analysts talk about what an ideal situation the Vikes are for JJ McCarthy, but seem to gloss over the fact that all of that is also true for Darnold. Darnold's talent evaluation was arguably better than McCarthy, and Darnold has already taken his lumps.
      I'd argue that Darnold wouldn't need to improve much in order to operate the Vikes offence at a pretty efficient level, very similar to Cousins. Many folks might be underestimating them a bit, if they're stuck on their 2018-20 priors with Darnold.
      Skol!
