Because of you and this video I am now a flashlight addict. Since receiving this unit I've learned a ton. First, this light does not represent how much light a good Sky Ray deliver. (I got a bit curious after looking at the tiny driver that this unit had) After researching a bit I ordered this Sky Ray: www.lightmalls.com/sky-ray-s110-10t6-u2-10xcree-xm-l-t6-u2-10-000-lumen-led-flashlight-torch-4-18650-not-included The light output was more than double that of the "25000 lm" unit and the build quality is a lot better. ....also my Thrunite TN-42 arrived yesterday. That thing is totally insane.
It is a bit hit and miss getting the right skyray flashlight , And i know what you mean i'm still buying flashlights myself : ) , I bought a led lenser M7RX recently from a car boot sale now that's a good light , Thank's for the input and good luck on your collection .
Derek Jacobs the flashlight in the link you posted looks similar to the one in this video. they both have 10 led diodes. besides the build quality that you mentioned. what is the difference between these two flashlights ? does the one in the link shine brighter ?
Hi David I've disassembled both units and the differences were startling. The driver is far more robust in the S110. The light output of the S110 as measured by my Light Meter app (by Keuwlsoft) at 10 feet is a bit more than double that of the less expensive Sky Ray.
+The Dudgies Family Vlog About a hour on full power with 4 18650 battery's then it drops to a lower power for another hour, And yea wasn't expecting it to blind me lol .
Got it, but it had only 1 coil driver, my older 9x cree have 3 coils and its brighter. Thankfully the LEDs are CREE XML2, ill mod it to get at least 100W out of it. The £16 i paid is still excellent value and it is powerfull even without the modding.
Watch out with this light. They don't use Cree leds. There is no throw, just flood and I guess it's about 1500 lumens. You can't compare this light with a good Fenix TK light. For the price it's a good light but don't expect it lights up more than 50 meters
ChannelBOZ101 pop can lights aren't supposed to throw, flood design and for big Lumens you need big money so a sub £20 light will be about 300 lumens max
Sadly it's not even 10.000lm. That would mean the LEDs are driven hard at about 100w of power. There's absolutely no chance that aluminum body can absorb and/or dissipate 100w of power. Unless it dims itself after getting hot.
please note those are non genuine CREE LED's. it may seem bright but genuine ones are MUCH brighter. a genuine CREE XM-L LED has a much bigger yellow square in the centre of the diode. if you look closely at the centre of the diodes in a genuine cree led all 4 corners of the yellow square should touch the edge of the circle dome that its in. google "fake cree led" and look at images to compare or look here: s72.photobucket.com/user/Denbarrett/media/LatticeBright%20vs.%20XML%20RMM%20amp%20Miller_zpsbabsitsy.jpg.html
+Martin Macari Yes i know about CREE chips i got a selection of them bought from different sellers , I will be doing video about it very soon and we will look into this flashlight at the same time.
No longer available you will have to do some research check feedback on the seller www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1311.R7.TR8.TRC1.A0.H1.TRS0&_nkw=skyray+flashlight&_sacat=0#save
They are light but you got to account for the 4 battery's , But that would be cool 4 of them fitted to drone your neighbours would think it was a UFO lol .
Thx for your reply, I been searching the weight, some how i got it 350grams with out the battery, Haha i already order 4 from ebay, my next holiday will be in New Zealand (QUEENSTOWN ) in Nov I will flight around the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Fox Glacier will try to take some nice video and photo, Thx anyway.
you might want to take a closer look at your light. id be willing to bet you got ripped off the same as i did.... check to make sure they actually used "XML T6" bulbs instead of something else. (T6's are 1040 lumens each) they used Cree "XPG" bulbs in mine which are only 450 lumens each.
Purchased this light solely based on your comment at 1:32.
Thanks. :)
They are good : ) .

That's 1 bright little torch 🔦, do the battery's last long? I gotta say I did lol at your reaction when you first switched it on. 😀

looks a good powerful handheld light .

The light gets very hot quick , And i should check the amp's so we would know for sure how hard they are run thanks for the comment .
Bogdan Boeru Vinh pushes 350w in his torches, can be done but they get hot quick lol

Agree. The leds are not CREE XM-L T6. These are from LatticeBright.
They are real in this one i have checked , But you have got to be careful some sell fake ones .
Would you share a link for the product? I just want to make sure I am buying from the same source not to buy fake LEDs.

XML T6 are in mine i have checked them .
Since those Cree LED's are rated max at just over 1000 lumens no, it is never going to be 25,000 lumens...
As i said on the description more like 10.000 lumens , They like to lie gets them more sales .
Shibumi i bet they get toasty at 30 lumens
err and outside test please?
