  • So I wanted to make this video, and discuss why I prefer Off-meta decks vs what I feel are forced meta decks when it comes to this game. I will always speak my mind, so when ppl say stuff about my recent posts I need to address somethin'.. Please watch KMBEST's video about off-meta with Big Baby here: • This OFF-META Deck Is ...
I just want to have fun testin' cards out without having to play a meta that is not that fun. I welcome all comments but come at me wrong I'll troll back. #marvelsnap #marvelsnapcreator #marvelsnapdecks #discussion

Btw - how about electro-sandman builts? Can they be good in the meta? I played against some on ladder but they lost everytime.

Sandman has a cool ability but it's like why try to ramp into him when you can ramp into better cards? I think he is a good card, but he will always be in a lower tier just because of his cost.

Actually I take back what I said.. Sandman is actually pretty damn good ngl just need the right build around him.

Always good to hear someone speaking from his heart about things wrong in the game. I played many card games in my life but i've never seen content creators of any game being so shy in "forcing" positive change for its players. The Mobius thing was the only exception but when I've heard that meta is stable with Loki as it is I thought "how could you ever say that? Just because you have All the cards in the game due to spending insane amount of money and can make Out every single counter to minimize the unfair adventage Loki presents doesnt mean meta is fine". Loki with quinjet is like nail in the coffin for players that want to actually have fun and experiment with cards in this game. Its the one card I cant stand (i can tolerate alioth altough I dislike him at least its very predictable).

I swear I feel the exact same frustration with my decks, whenever I try to get creative and make a deck to have fun and try new interactions and cards I get destroyed by both the opponents AND the locations, then I switch to a more meta-like deck and I still lose but way less and slowly get my cubes back, it really feels that, either you play meta decks and win most of the time, or have fun with your decks and lose most of the time, it's really annoying and I'm doubting about playing the game for long.

Yeah it’s been that way for a while, I like to fuck around with homebrew and meme decks so I do that with conquest most of the time to farm for medals so I can get the new card variant. Ladder is basically three decks I run, # 1 Marvel lockdown, #2 Rocks and Hawks with Ms Marvel, #3 Discard deck with Daken. Two of those decks always get me to infinite being Discard and Rocks and Hawks. Play for the climb on ladder vs play for the fun of the game on Conquest

Completely agree with you about meta decks. Loki, High Evo, Destroy and now these toxic junk decks. They become predictable so quickly and every time I match them I'm like "oh cool someone else who googled how to play the game".
People say to just try off meta in proving grounds but the battle mode scenario is pretty different to a ladder match scenario and people are just running their most oppressive decks just to farm tickets and u find urself not really being able to learn anything about the build in proving grounds imho.
They're all kinda fun decks to play but to match into it's predictable and boring like u say.
As for junk I've been enjoying an old school Destroyer deck that's been able to handle Annihilus pretty easily.
Annihilus became boring in literally a single day 😅

Mobius still trash. Meta is def not ok. We got WWBN and loki rn that are too oppressive, and allioth that’s just allioth… no explanation needed there lol. Regardless changes will be made but we’re gonna have to wait for second dinner to come back sadly…hang in there fam, not sure if you think I’ve been “toxic” or what not in the past, but I genuinely love this game and want people to succeed where they feel they can’t. Glad your speaking more on it all though, we definitely need more creators like you and Jeff speaking the str8 facts of how shit the meta is rn even being a top 5k player… Been a supporter for a min as you know and will continue to support bro, keep ya head up king 👑 🤙🏽💯

The best deck I made on my own was High EVO Thanos with ongoing cards like Blue Marvel and Kazar

"5:50" i don't think you are describing the top "meta" loki deck here, I agree that Loki is over tuned, but I think Werewolf by night is even more over tuned and synergises well with Loki. I don't understand you comments about Annihilus, you like playing junk but now your don't because other people are? I understand being frustrated with "meta" but i disagree with with opinion that "off-meta" deck are unplayable, sure they have a lower win rate, but if played/built correctly should have a positive cube rate. If you are serious about pursuing content creation it might be worthwhile to spend to get the new cards as an investment.

I never said anything about playing junk.. I don't have any junk builds and the times I've had played it I didn't like it so much PERSONALLY. I didn't say anything about off meta being unplayable I said mostly has to do with fun.. and playing off meta even in Proving Grounds is not fun since I match up against a lot of Loki style decks and at times Lockdown decks. How is it fun playing against the same style of decks that you do in ladder while playing them in Conquest? That's where my problem is.. the over amount of meta on two game modes. You try to escape from the meta by playing decks that you built your own or wanted to test out only to play those same exact decks.
And yes Loki by Night is an absurdly dumb deck that is way strong and me being at a high CL I play against that deck or other similar style of Loki decks that just overwhelm you with power on the board.
My deal is I appreciate off meta decks more because they bring out creativity while playing the meta seems absolutely boring. We have creators that make top 10 Loki decks and they are all strong against a lot of decks out there. I think you misunderstood my comments and vids so I can address them a bit better in text since I go off the top of my head in just about every video I do.
My statements are just that the meta currently is absolutely boring to play and play against ŵhile I have more fun playing off meta decks because I love theory crafting and utilizing other cards that aren't the best but have the potential to work.
Also trust me as I tried to get these cards I stated that I TRIED to get the cards so I can do a detailed deck list and ideas, but recently have struck out on getting Nico, WBN, and Gladiator so it makes card acquisition incredibly hard when you can't get those cards. The last card I got was Black Knight and I don't want to keep making Black Knight vids, because it's the only new card I have. Maybe that can clear things up in regards to what I was trying to say in the video. Appreciate the comment.

@@GodbodyRokuthis is going to be the case regardless of what the meta looks like. People don't understand that if loki is hit hard enough to be taken out of the meta, lockdown immediately replaces it as the most played, most oppressive, most dominant deck & it will push other strategies (that are viable right now with loki on top) out of the meta once loki isn't viable.
Id rather have loki in the meta as it is (maybe the best deck, but not by much if it is. Bounce being probably better) than have it be gone & have lockdown be the most optimal deck. Im also not a fan of "nerf the best deck every time". Its not good for the game long term and thats what we should be caring about. The game Long-term.

    • @GodbodyRoku
      @GodbodyRoku  11 месяцев назад

@rezzytheskyguy that's the thing.. Second Dinner usually nerfs cards in decks that are OP. Lockdown is strong as hell, Loki is absolutely strong as hell, and bounce is a card away from being super strong, but it's just ridiculous playing against Loki since he takes your cards and makes them absolutely cheap. There are ways to win but it shouldn't feel like an uphill battle each time you play against these decks. As much as I don't like conquest I still want to be able to play the decks I like to play and each time Second Dinner releases a card that comes out OP its more and more of what seems to be boring gameplay. I try to focus on off meta which again I explained why I don't do OP decks as I typically cannot get those cards, and I'm not financially in a position to buy the bundles to get quicker card acquisition as I was before. That is on me though I could've started the channel sooner when I was able to get majority of these cards, but since spotlight caches pretty much dipped a lot of card acquisition for higher CL(I'm CL 12,375) so most of what I get are season pass cards and the gold I acquire in game which is mostly from the rewards you get from missions and daily and weekly challenges.
At one point the meta was super spread open but recently it has been in a funk IMO but I'm also not the only one who thinks that. I wish some of you guys were around the old Spider-Man, absorbing man zabu combo. That was meta hell.. or the lockjaw leech combo that nearly every creator was extremely upset about that took the fun out of the game.

@@GodbodyRoku the game is going to keep evolving past the decks that were good in the past. Those negative/wong/ongoing/ fun off meta decks just arent going to cut it anymore. & i get the cards being hard to get but im mostly f2p and i used spotlights strategically (nit hitting unless i had at least 3) and got most of the cards released recently except for ravonna & black knight just by playing. Skipping martyr as well. Those old "fun" decks just arent good enough anymore & thats not a bad thing on second dinner's part that the game has moved past them, its just a reality of every game. For example in mtg, the best deck of all time was called CawBlade and it won multiple multiple pro tours. but it gets completely shredded by even the worst standard deck today. In a game as fast paced release wise as marvel snap, you cant expect the same card to be viable as the game evolves. There are about 25 viable decks in marvel snap right now that can win consistently & dont just fold to loki. Maybe trying something new will help. Idk.

@@GodbodyRoku and I was around for the surfer, zabu, aero, leader days. That meta was MUCH worse than what we have today imo. Its just that there are decks that just dont hold up in today's game and thats okay.

Loki don't need a -1 When that card came out I didn't understand it could take your entire deck. That card is trash and completely broken. Bounce is a good deck. Bounce junk and Bounce Darkhawk is pretty good.
