As someone who's been working 3 jobs, 60+ hour weeks, while also getting married in a month, your bit about struggling to make videos hit. I feel that, but am incredibly happy you're pushing through! Favorite person to watch play by far.
Thanks so much Kyle, I really genuinely appreciate your comment. Glad to know I can be at least a few minutes of distraction in the long dark that is life :P
I'm new to Pokemon TCG. I didn't see any Arcanine ex decks on Limitless to take inspiration from (I don't know why I didn't bother searching RUclips, but whatever) so I just took my own experience with TCGs to try and intuit a decent deck on my own. And I've been having fun with it, Arcanine is a favorite Pokemon for me & that card art is great. I didn't really think of Armarouge but I stuck with Charizard for cheaper energy requirements/costs & I added Delphox V as an alternative offensive option to hit the bench as I felt losing 1 energy to the lost zone isn't a big deal when I have Magma Basin. But what was more interesting to me is I got rid of Bibarel altogether and run 2 Squawkabilly ex (in case 1 is a prize card), 4 Battle Pass VIPs, 2 Nest Ball, 4 Ultra Ball because I WANT the Squawk turn 1 in addition to 4 Professors), 4 Trekking Shoes. My rationale was ideally I would go second then Squawk + Professor + Trekking Shoes + as many balls/Passes as I can on my first turn to deep draw through my deck. I also tested Lumineon as an extra search for Proffessor but it didn't test well, I got stuck with it as the only Basic in my starting hand one too many times so I just have a couple Gift Energys I could attach to a Growlithe to Stoke then die or as a colorless energy on Radiant Charizard, Delphox, or Squawk. In retrospect, this is all probably the consequence of me being a Yu-Gi-Oh! player, big draws just overexcite me. The discards from the core of Squawk+Professor though also set up the grave with fire energy for Magma Basin + Squawkabilly's move could be used turn 1 if I have him active to attach 2 energy & prepare Arcanine turn 2 (so long as I have either an energy or a path to Rare Candy in Charizard in hand). I'm currently in Scorbunny rank and I'm finally starting to not win as often, but I don't really have the intuition to know what my deck building problems are, might just move on to netdecking some meta threat soon until I'm more experienced. I've definitely already got some ideas from this video though, the Entei V for early game argument makes sense and it definitely looks like a better option than Delphox V against more decks. I also had no clue what Forest Seal Stone does, with all the draw power of my deck that would be really easy to resolve & I could prepare that Charizard early, the biggest problem I've felt so far
Thank you this video. I just downloaded the game and I was struggling before watching your video. I am still not sure how to make a deck but I am glad I have a place to start now thanks to you. Appreciate you.
Me too. One of my favorite pokemons. It's true. I think this is the best Arcanine ever released. They were always kinda okish, but never a good competitive Arcanine option.
You considered running a few EXP Share? Can be good to slap on an Armarouge to conserve energy throughout the game and make it easier to stream attacks. I really like this archetype, hope it gets some love in future sets to compete going forward.
I don’t know if I like those other basic Pokémon better when you can get that Charizard on the field or one energy equals two I don’t know man it’s very very easy to just attach an energy each turn and keep attacking at 2:50 every term with our canine I think I like the Charizard better. But good stuff regardless.
@@TheSableyes but the entei card. I put it in my deck. That was a very needed upgrade. Someone that can actually do pressing damage every turn without a bunch of support and helps you draw
This deck has been really fun to start learning the game with, but the ladder at the moment seems filled with Chien Pao which makes it really hard to climb!
I have 2 nintales for the damage counters on other Pokemon. I have two Armourage for the fire off ability. I have 1 entei v for the fleet footed and decent attack. Obviously of have 2 arcanine and 1 radiant charzard. I do decent especially against electric and physic builds
As I have noticed, lots of players using this deck in PTCGL, and I have wondered if there was an upgrade for this powerful deck. Turns out it is :) Plus full art cards are making it beautiful!
Radiant heatran and revavroom are also good options. Especially the heatran. It had the potential to knock out any Pokémon in the game for 3 magma basin turns. And any v star for 2
Love this deck, but sadly it doesn't do well with top decks in my experience. Still a fun one to play with moving energy all over the board and taking big KO's.
Been loving playing this online. I want to re-create it to play live games as well. Do you have any recommendations for updated trainers from Obsidian Flames? Also, I don't really want to pay $25 for forest seal stone, do you have a replacement you'd recommend?
I am playing a very similar deck to this and struggling at times with draw support. I am not finding Bibarel particularly useful, is there a good solution? Radiant Graninja or something? 🤔
Just started playing 2 days ago. I added radisnt greninja. Discard a fire, draw 2 and basen the fire i just discarded. Not sure if its actually good since im still learning but its seemed strong
I believe it is used as a last resort if your opponent has two or fewer prize cards remaining because it will only cost 1 (fire) energy instead of the normal five. Radiant Charizard attack is based on how many prize cards your opponent has taken.
So, I goofed. I'm new, I don't know this card game like, at all. I looked up Armarouge and crafted it, but I crafted the wrong one. Coming from Yu-Gi-Oh, it literally did not compute for me that your game would have multiple completely different printings of the same card with identical names and they would all be legal in the same format. Is there a decent alternative energy engine that kind of fits in the same deck space? My first instinct is to go back to Charizard and Charizard ex...
@@TheSableyes I still don’t get it, either way thank you for making the starter deck more viable. Ever since I started using this deck I’ve been winning games… and I was on like a 20 game losing streak 😅

but there is something that remains the same, and to be honest I glad that you still smile and try your best to make the video sounds funny for us to enjoy, and I like that a lot :3 when it was still the online version, you less likely to talk about strategies, which I find that amusing because despite how you see it, this is still a game and we should just enjoy it. Some follow this path like zapdoptcg and tricky gym, others seem kinda into it too much like littledarkfury, I hardly see him crack a smile, and his face expression somehow makes me feel like he is always stressful, and that is one reason why I think game streamers shouldn't have when streaming, just my opinion, no objection :3
The thing that irritates me...Arcanine is supposed to be one of the fastest Pokémon. Was a retreat cost of 3 really the only way to balance this card out??
I started playing yesterday and am already able to craft this deck. use your purple credits you get from daily rewards to buy the battle pass which you should start out with enough already but if you spent them that's what you'll have to do. From here you get plenty of packs and credits to upgrade your starter deck into this deck right here. It just takes a few quest rotations to grind up more cards, I was lucky and had a bunch of codes saved up from opening a lot of packs in the past IRL.
I was wondering, like when some tcg streamers move from the online version to the live one, somehow I feel like the video has been cut short by half the length. I means in the past, you used to show us how each deck would go against the strongest decks like mew vmax, palkia vstar, dialga vstar, girantina vstar ... but now only one deck. Why is that ?
I've changed to only showing one game because my analytic data suggested the 50% of the audience stopped watching after game one. No point in spending sometimes hours more if people tune out regardless :P
Yugioh player. Want to try Pokemon. I've tried the basic version of this deck that comes with the game. My goal is to play the physical card game... Is this a good deck to build for playing at locals? I do not understand the different formats. I'd like to build a budget deck ($20-$50) that I will be allowed to play casually (in Yugioh you usually have to spend a ton of money to be able to compete, hopefully that's not the case)... Searching online it seems decks like "Hisuian Goodra VSTAR" or "Miraidon EX" - I don't mind a more complex deck, I am not a child and I have experience with Yugioh, I don't want like an easy kids deck, but something simple if powerful is fine, I would prefer something 'current'/popular... Thank you. Can someone please help????
The prize card's seem like a completely bad mechanic. Like "burn 6 cards" maybe get them back waaay later... A good few of my games I seem to lose entire evo lines, and in one had 4 of my energy prize carded, leaving me pretty locked out from having even a chance. Sometimes get left with like 1-2 core cards that should be 4 ofs. And no matter how consistent a deck seems, you can just get done over. Getting a bad hand is one thing, but the chance to lose 6 cards x.x what were they thinking taking those from the deck, they should be a side deck or something.
Yep, just had a game where 3 of my rare candy went in the prize and one of my two, second level evo's Making it almost impossible to get my lv 3 out. and even when I did, I couldn't get a second after trading
Since you're making this video for newer players I'd consider going a bit more in debt on the changes made and explaining why you are taking something out and what card you are putting in in their place. The addition of a Manaphy for instance might be self-explanatory for veterans but since you're not mentioning it or it's ability new players can only scratch their heads at the inclusion of a water pokemon in a fire deck. Same with the trainers, new players might be left wondering why something was taken out or put in. It's also frankly super annoying that you decided to change almost every card you kept to alt art cards, as it makes it really difficult to see what has actually changed and what is kept. Newbie guides are not the place to flex.. You even changed trainers that you kept like Boss's orders and Professors research to different versions of the same card, leading to maximum confusion as well as players potentially crafting cards that are already in their decks to get your version.
