- The plaintiff says the defendant hung heavy artwork on her wall and smashed her marble table. Then another piece fell, causing damage, so she’s suing for the costs. The defendant owns a framing company and agreed to hang the art, but he says the plaintiff could have knocked it off the wall. He’s countersuing for unpaid framing work.
32-170
I adore this woman. Her love of her $35 plate is so relatable. You buy something relatively cheap and have it for decades and grow attached to having it. I have many such items. Worthless or silly to some, but if it brings us joy then who cares what they think
"The picture didn't fall for 2 decades until I got there and messed with it, anything could have happened!!" 🤣🤣
😅 I find it hilarious when people try to continue to give their case to Doug after the Judge already ruled.
Lol it's hilarious. Harveys never funny to me but Doug and the other guy always have me laughing.
FR especially when they say JM didn't let them talk when they were just saying all the wrong things 🤣
bruh fr they think it'll make a difference or something lmaooo
I bet her home looks amazing!
Like an art gallery.
@@glenncurley680 Like a hoarder 😂😂😂
That’s too bad this happened . He lost a customer and she lost her precious plate 😢
True
If I took a drink every time the defendant said he gives excellent customer service, I would need rehab.
😂😂😂
🤣 Right there with you, Nathan! 😂 Cheers 🤣🥃🥃😂
Lol 😂
I bet he stay home from now on, damn excellent customer service 😁😁
Line em up and I'll knock em down. 😂
As the General Manager of The Framing Shop in Belize City, Central America, I also do hanging of pictures for some of my customers at no charge. I always put stronger picture wires than necessary and proper plugs in their walls. If a customer ever blames me for small damages, I always am willing to lose a few dollars rather than a faithful customer.
His comment at the very end about not needing her as a customer is just plain despicable, he forgets she has high society friends and she will spread the word about him, and he may have just cost himself, his business. I hope so!...
Ridiculous. She wasn't even mad about the artwork falling she just wanted to be compensated and he denies it and accuses her of setting him up. Then he's gonna argue about a $30 difference for the framing. Now he lost a customer and a lot more money. He doesn't deserve her business.
The defendant let his pride get the best of him and was too stubborn to take the settlement.
He was thinking small not big as a businessperson he lost a good customer who was spending a lot of money with him.. he won $170 but lost thousands and a good customer 🤦
Love it when the defendant said that he made a quarter of a million dollars last year, so he's successful and one bad customer won't ruin his business. WOW! 😶😮
A customer who ordered 14 pieces from you last year is now just a nothing. I'd never go to him for that statement alone, and I'd make sure to leave my comments where others could have that knowledge as well. What an ungrateful a-hole!
The plaintiff was very well spoken and I believe everything she said. The defendant is a fool, the plaintiff spent so much money with him.
never believe a bald chick. grow some hair.
Stop calling black people well spoken. It’s condescending and is a microaggression. How else did you expect her to speak?
That she is. However; I've never heard anyone refer to a Caucasian as being well spoken. I wonder why that is? Either way he is an absolute fool for hanging that picture with those tiny nails. He should have made it right for the sake of keeping a good customer.
@Huey Freeman 🌠 maybe it has to do with the fact that English appears to be her second language????
@@yalanundabenitez6809 you're joking, right?
Wow if he would have just complied with her they wouldn't be in court, I believe everything she said and he could have helped her but instead lost a good client that spent a good amount of money
The defendant is an idiot. The plaintiff is the type of customer who would have forgiven the mistake had he acted appropriately
No doubt the plaintiff is connected to a circle of people who will now be wary of the defendants business and all over $150
I dont know if perhaps envy played a part in the defendants response but man what a silly stance to take with excellent customers.
Exactly what I said. She wasn't even mad about the artwork falling. Just a little upset about her plate, I think it had personal value to her. She just wanted to be compensated and have it fixed. I hope she doesn't purchase anymore from him.
Feels like his pride really got the best of him especially since she STILL had items for him to work on. He was just embarrassed that he hung it incorrectly and instead of being apologetic he became indignant.
I love how honest they both were. So rare in the court.
There is no way those flimsy anchors were going to hold.
Ironic lesson learned: don't do a favor for anyone. Your free work may not be appreciated but become a liability to you nonsensely & unfortunately.
I’m sorry, but if a 75 pound mosaic fell off the wall and hit a marble table and smashed a plate, it wouldn’t be the next morning before you knew it-it would make a noise that would wake up the neighborhood!
This case went on WAAAAAY too long.
Judge Judy would have ended this in 4 minutes
JJ is the best
She is correct….that fastener is not for a concrete wall and should have used concrete screws
She's framing the framer 😂😂😂😂
What kind of home does she live in and how does she sleep if she didn’t hear a 75 lb mosaic fall, hit a table and bust a plate? Come on
EXACTLY! I’m glad someone else picked up on that!
Asked myself the same thing!
Mr Willie came dressed for court😊
Beautiful lady.
what a horrible seller. I cannot believe he came on tv to show everyone how little he values his customers. If he doesn’t know how to hang a painting he shouldn’t have offered to do it.
He didn't offer. She asked him.
If the picture was seventy five pounds, I doubt very much He would have been able to Lift it off of one nail by himself.
Those screws wont penetrate concrete
'Those brads are new technology.'
Lol brads have been around for hundreds of years 😂
No good deed goes unpunished. He should have kindly declined and she should have waited for her fiancé.
How is she doing him a good deed ? She asked for his help, He didn't charge her. Now she's sueing him
@@perfectlyimperfect9129 you misunderstood my comment. HE was the one doing a good deed, not her.
What a classy lady!
This case is so American. I was team defendant. He drove 45 minutes and hung the pictures for free. Then she sues him. What a nerve. Stuff happens. She is obviously well off. She should have just accepted the loss. Someone doesn't always have to be liable. I guess that is why she is so rich if she makes all this fuss over a 35 dollar plate she bought 20 years ago.
Plaintiff didn’t have evidence that his hanging caused damaged to her table, etc? On flip side, he didn’t have copies of his business transactions so how can JM rule fairly, but the kicker is the “Defendant” was doing her a “favor” & he ends up getting sued! Kind of turns a person off on doing favors for people! That’s too bad! Geeze! SMH! 😮
I'll be back to see what our Adrian has to say about this....
You give him too much validation.....hehe
Stay away from hanging pictures for these females men, they're the Devil😈... was I close??
It's been an hour and he hasn't said anything. This is weird. Lol
@@SRFAA what can he say? It's two black people and JM was nice to both of them.
@@supportvawa2213 You'd be surprised.
Those nails were tiny 😂
Did he check for the studs that is holding up the wall? If the hanging is a heavy one, it definitely needs to be into the studs.
It was a concrete wall
The Defendant keeps repeating himself 🤨 so annoying
All he had to do was compromise on one issue and she would have remained his customer. Instead, he went on TV and said he doesn't care if he loses a customer. I bet other customers watching this will drop him after this. He just told on himself
Some of these cases be a waste of airtime.
7:22 im honestly surprised she held her tongue this long to tell him to stop yelling out. he KEPT doing it. like shut up !
No good deed goes unpunished, this is why I don't help people with thing's that could possibly end up with me in court.
The picture hooks/hangers have to be the right size. They have different weight limits. I think the defendant was trying to do what he thought was better. But the hanger he used was just not strong enough and it's his fault because he changed the mosaics support. Instead of arguing, he should just own up to his mistake and call it a loss.
love it when they talk past/present tense in same sentence gee whiz
Boy you can always catch a Liberian accent lol 😂😂😂 He is definitely LIB
That you for specifying, I thought the accent was West Indian. As a west African, I’m a little ashamed. Lol.

Im am from the Caribbean, her accent is Jamaican
@@donna8743 I am referring to the man
@@donna8743 Nope Trinidad & Tobago
But he was doing her a favor. It wasn't a contract job
You should always get a second opinion. Reference’s too. There is a art to hanging art.😮
I don’t have a $250,000 business but I know you need hardened nails to penetrate concrete. Those picture hanging hooks are good for wreaths, nothing breakable.
I think JM felt bad for the lady because she knew how much she loved the plate. She did not give her the depreciated value of it she gave the full value.
The defendant made it a horrible business decision, and not settling with this woman and maintaining her as a customer. Sometimes peoples need to be right, overshadow common sense.
sounds like Michael blackston
both were good people actually....
Melt down and remake a $35 plate?😂
I don't believe the plaintiff
Neither do I…she messed with it and is blaming him
Those nails look awfully shallow, lawl
Boo never seem the judge make so many wild assumptions, it was just as feasible that after 2 weeks later she made adjustments.....there was no proof he was negligent, she just decided her story made more sense. This is nothing but an opinion. If he did hang something that was too heavy for the object or wall it wouldn't take 2 weeks for gravity to take it down! Heck a big enough vibration can knock stuff off walls. Just feels wrong 😢
P.s. Defendant said that hook & nail combo, in little package, is "new technology"...omg😮😂😂 (framers attach PROPER size/per weight to the wire on framed items) the combo's STANDARD for 40+ years!!!
Yeah, all the crazy young kids are using this new high-tech combo. Came out right after hieroglyphics and cave painting.
The defendant is so annoying. If you made a mistake just fess up , pay the bill and move on.
35 $ plate 20 yrs old. Is a 25 cent flee market
THE DEFENDANT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE HE LOST {2} VERY GOOD CUSTOMERS OVER UNDER $200 ALL THE WAY TO THE END HE NEVER APOLOGIZED NOR TOOK RESPONSIBILITY BUT SHE SHOULD'VE SPOKEN UP ABT THOSE LIL THIN NAILS / SCREWS HELL I WOULD'VE & ALSO HOW DID ALL THAT FALL & SHE DIDN'T WAKE UP UNLESS IT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE "MANSION" EITHER WAY I KNOW THAT THEIR TIES ARE SEVERED
I feel so bad for the defendant. She was a kind women, she was trying to be mature & kind about it but this guy wanted to be a JERK. He doesn’t deserve her business.
23:05 plot twist- people walk into his shop & walked right back out after this episode & he loses LOADS of business. No body wants to do business or support a jerk.
It sounds like it has to do with how/where to anchor/hang wall items. There are specifications to anchoring a picture that is all about the structures behind the wall. And if you don't know the spacing which is the specification that is required when installing a wall then you can screw up anything that you're hanging on it. So, for a plaster wall, the plaster hole will work it's way larger and whatever you're hanging will fall. However, if you can recognize the spacing and the (wood placement) which is the infrastructure for the plaster/concrete wall, you're supposed to drill your holes there in that part of the wood. And you're supposed to use special nails/screws. This is a must! Otherwise, it's just like Russian roulette. And this is why so many people have broken their expensive televisions as well as anything beneath them. This is also why so many babies were injured and even killed initially when people were mounting the television hardware to walls inappropriately.
The defendant is a moron. She was a good customer that spend a lot of money. He lost a customer. That is dangerous in this time in this economy.
The plaintiff is wonderful. I live that woman.
She’s a horrible customer who took advantage of him. She definitely messed with that mosaic and didn’t fess up to it, then blamed it on him to recoup her losses-she the type who is never wrong 🙄
She never said can you do me a favor ...she asked how much would you charge and you said it would said no charge so it's all on you !!
Why do people not get receipts and quotes...I don't get it.
Me either, to trusting or not using brains lol
Stop cheating out or ur supposed expensive stuff. He's a framer not a hanger
The only flaw in this lawsuit from judge was not making sure that the wall its self was stable to hold and be pulled because what if he’s putting the hole in the wall right to hang that 25 or 75 pound statue but where he put it was weak is it his fault Tht he had to move it BECAUSE SHE DIDNT WANT TO WAIT FOR WHOEVER TO MOVE THE STATUE N PUT IT BACK WRONG if the wall it self was weak (I think you could have dug a little deeper on her side as well as you did him
The plaintiff is so pretty
If something on the other side of the wall hits that side hard enough it can cause it. How could she not hear the crash.
Hangman hardware for mounting heavy wall decor.
Where she from? We might be related
DANG PLAINTIFF YOUR BEAUTIFUL! AND THAT ACCENT *CHEFS KISS
He's gonna put a voodoo spell on her ( Plaintiff) or maybe both...giggle
he sound like a drunk Sherman Klump lololol
It's be wonderful to be a judge husband.
I can break the law and get away with it.
Regardless of the judge's ruling, this matter will be settled out of court through a war of voodoo spells cast against each other's estate.
Lol
The nails werent strong enough although he was granting her a favour and end up getting sued
because she can get a bunch of mony by blaming the defendant. If she admitted that she did it, she wouldn't get a dime.
Bingo!
Bruh sounds like a black Sylvester Stallone. Aaaddddrrrriiiannnnnn!!! #Rocky
😂😊😅
Where can I buy the bob marley picture he has
Good customer service comes when you have a problem, not necessarily when you sell them something. Any buisness person is happy to make a buck, but if you have a problem, they disappear, make excuses, beat around the bush ect ect..
In the gallery biz since 1985; HOW you install artwork/items is essential! A single hook & nail? Ridiculous. Especially on a heavy item.
To recover damages, I'd bring evidence galore which very, very few litigants provide🤦
awkward...
The defendant chose the wrong hill to die on. Smh. A good customer whom you've treated so badly will affect your business. Quarter of a million dollar business 🤥! Yeah right. You wouldn't be stiffing your customers.
Some favor
Are these people US citizens 😮!!
That bum ass plate doesn't depreciate in 20 years😂. Judge favored the lady too much.
Where there's a Willie, there's no way...

Listen the guy messed up but just because something is old doesn't make it antiques
He was doing this as a favor and after 2 weeks it falls down, does the judge not understand that shit just happens..... She could have knocked it down that's not impossible, people fuck up and want to blame it on other people and get free money but that goes over the judges head!
BINGO! That’s what I think happened…she definitely messed with it!
All this over crappy decor.
Truth
Michelle & oprah😂 your better off without them.
Once she said Pennsauken,New Jersey I knew he was a cheap scape.
I don’t like either one how do you not hear a mosaic fall off a wall. If it was 75lbs. onto something like that you should’ve heard it. If he is a legitimate businessman he should’ve had receipts.
The defendant doesn't have a clue.
He claims he runs a quarter of a million dollar business.. he should know that it's possible for pictures to fall off days later and when you have good customers you should try to keep them satisfied.. he didn't want to refund $100 or 200 to a woman who brought him thousands worth of business.. this was sad, the defendant is dumb
Lots of money spent on calendar pictures. God bless America.
