    I’ve listened to all of Charlie’s podcasts but have never seen what he looked like before. Always cool to put a face to the voice

    I texted this video to a friend with the comment that it's two of my absolute heroes in one video.
    Tiny side comment: background music is a tad loud for my taste.

    Hallo Marc, what you exactly mean (timestamp 3:25s) between "absolute and relative" bet size of the pot, is a "better indicator" for hand strength? THX in advance

    • @hungryhorsepoker
      @hungryhorsepoker  3 месяца назад

      basically - a $500 bet into a $1000 pot is more indicative of strength then a $50 bet into a $50 pot. in the former, it’s only a half pot sized bet (the relative size is small) but the absolute size is large. in the latter, it’s a pot sized bet (relative size is large) but the absolute size is small.

      @@hungryhorsepoker Thank you. I wasn't quite sure. But your answer makes complete sense. The absolute or relative bet size also depends a lot on the type of opponent. Like scary money, passiv, bluff heavy villain.

    Nit Game (Stand up Game) invented at the Lodge in Austin, BTW.

    disagree with the "fun games" they mostly favor the tight regs, cause they get paid better. as you said adjustments are betting more lienarly, thinner value and less bluffing. 72 game gives every nitreg ez bluffs they would never have otherwise. fish on the other hand mostly dont care or waaaay overadjust to the sidegames so it becomes even more profitable for the nits at the table.

    In my games people consistently check the nuts and bomb the river but this is great for when I move up in stakes. Thanks guys.

    Marc why can’t one check the nuts at the turn for deception?

    • @charliewilmoth
      @charliewilmoth 8 месяцев назад +4

      Because there’s so much stuff to get value from on the turn and river, especially with the stand-up game on. It’s just going to be much more profitable to value bet than to bluff catch

    • @hungryhorsepoker

      yep what what charlie said ^^. we're deep, and when we're IP we want to pile in money from inelastic hands like smaller flushes or 2p that are never folding OTT. we're not going to be able to make up that value on the river if we don't bet now.
