first thing you should do is get the performance exhaust
You dont need to explain why you bought an A45. Sports Mode + Launch Control and run through a few gears is all you need to do
I think you made a great choice, all the other cars you looked at are too common, where as these, you don't see them very often, plus it looks awesome :)

I've just recently got shot of my Litchfield tuned A45. It was running 450bhp with the Litchfield Stage 2 package (ECU tune, induction kit and decat downpipe). Effectively this turned my A45 into a very quick hatchback, and it achieved the quickest quarter mile times in the UK down Santa Pod and Shakespeare Race Way @ 11.80s. However...... I sold it a couple of months back and bought a new 8V RS3..... which to me is a better car. I took that down the drag strip last week and that did a 12.2s quarter..... 100% stock! Ha
Sorry but the RS3 sounds so much better with 5 cylinders as opposed to this one. Great car though!
A45 is better on track and has a better awd system
but the rs3 facelift and ttrs will have big changes to the awd in terms of torque vectoring similar to the focus rs. And the new engine will be lighter. That together will hopefully kill all understeer
It's not always about performance. However the RS3s engine is irreplaceable.
It's a lot about your personal preference

Not to sure about the interior red accents they look a little tacky and would probably be the only negative comment generated in the BRDC car park

army Trix exhaust, maybe a set of vossen wheels?? those stock wheels are amazing though, or just get a true blood wrap with a black stripe and get renteck to tune it and it can be a baby AMG to Paul's gt-s 😂👌
Renntech exhaust system and ecu upgrade or brabus upgrade
c43 amg maybe? You would get more luxury and things like the head up display. Who cares about the few less horses everyday. And with an exhaust upgrade the v6 definitely sounds better
Change the wheels to all black
Sound is already superb.
Perfomance upgrade is always cool but not really necessary.
I think all it needs is some exterior additions, maybe a few more bits of red etcetera around the car. Just to make it stand out a bit more, since this black is quite dull...
Personalise it with some colour trims! Something like the edition 1 but to your own style preference :)
Hey Archie, have to admit even though am I Mini type guy, I have to say I'm rather jealous aha. Personally I'd got for the rentech exhaust and remap, just to give that little extra to the car

Every owner the old and the new is complaining about unsolved trim noises from different parts of the car. Do you have any comment?
Solid decision on the addition, congrats. Renntech has a deviant tune out there for this vehicle. Now that you and Tim both have valued hatches I believe a head to head video is in demand.
It sounds good already, so maybe wrap it up in some interesting color other than black. Go for white or something more colorful.
My dad has the a 45 with the facelift.
He says its literally the funnest car hes had and its his joint favourite with his Porsche gt3

Not a bad second choice. tbh shame the interior is a bit rubbish & cheap to touch.
Bigger brakes and coilovers would be expensive but really turn the car around. For sure an exhaust and a new map. Could be an awful lot more fun!

Baseline ecu tune. Chances are that car is toned back so it can slowly be raised by Mercedes over the years. I would get a solid tune.
Visually I'd blacken the grill, would look so much more aggressive!

These engines can be tuned really easily to produce a lot of power by companies like VIVID Racing and Renntech
Suggested modifications for the A45 AMG:
- Full Armytrix exhaust system with valve control
- Renntech ECU upgrade + BMC air filter
- Renntech Carbon strut brace
- Renntech performance brake package
- Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres
- Full suspension setup inc; alignment, corner weighting, wheel balance etc
Archie, when you do upgrades on this car could you say if such upgrades are also available for the GLA 45 AMG as well. They are quite similar vehicles, 2016 models are anyway. Thanks
Chip (plug and play), K&N (or other) air filter, exhaust or downpipe (cheaper than a full system) and lowering springs. Small, yet effective upgrades. Hope you find this useful.
I'm a big fan of BMW and currently drive one. As much as I admire the M2, I really think A45 is a better buy. Here in Malaysia the M2 is priced at almost 30℅ more than the Mercedes..
Archie I have a quick question. I have realised in many of the A45 AMG videos there seems to be a sound in the background which sounds like there's a very small draft coming into the car. When watching videos of other vehicles the sound is not as much as the A45.
Does the A45 have the sound of a small draft in the background when you're driving?
Hey +Archie Hamilton Racing, I have seen there are side skirt splitters that are developed for this car. I would definitely also get an Akrapovic exhaust system for sure (quality is second to none). And I would say ADV.1 or Vossen wheels with uprated and lowered suspension. Beyond that, the car doesn't need much else. Looks awesome by the way!

I so love this car! great choice desperately wanting one too. upgrade wise, of course you can make the exhaust sound even more monstrous. but nothing seems need to be added since it almost already perfect
take the catalytic converter off and install a cat-less downpipe exhaust system

Good choice... i felt the same way about the RS3 tbh. I have a Rebellion tune box on my CLA45 and boy does it make it come alive... I havent had a dyno yet but it should be sitting around 420 to 430hp... next for me will be be an AMS intake.
RS3 is definitely faster, but that AMG sounds sick

I think your aim should be to stealth it out as much as possible

i think intake exhaust and an ECU flash or chip will give you a nice boost in power and will not sacrifice drivability. as far as what kind of exhaust i think something with electronically adjustable flaps/baffles so that you can still have relatively quiet exhaust or balls to wall on demand

In terms of modifications I suggest that you de-chrome the tire lips to go with the stealth look of your car. It seems to look good on Paul's Wallace's car?
