Personally I disagree I grew up with minimal opportunities an just enough money in the family for a roof food clothes and having to choose between my birthday or Christmas an when I turned 18 I made enough to pay off my parents debt an was able to take care of my family till I was alone with my money no friends no more family so I’ve had to learn that just because money makes things easy doesn’t mean it makes things better especially life an I have learned how to continue to be happy an make the most in my life with whatever funds and opportunities I have immediately available and if money is something someone needs to be happy or thinks makes them happy I’d rather not have them in my life based off what I’ve gone through I like people who remember money is so temporary an anything can happen at anytime in ur life so just be happy day to day

I recently visited my home town in Egypt for the first time and I noticed that everyone was really happy, even though they were living in the worst conditions. They barely had any money, and everyone was constantly out trying to sell things, but you can see how rich the culture was, and how every one was just happy with what they had and nobody was thinking about how much better it could’ve been. For reference, I live in Canada and I would say I live in middle class and when I went to Egypt, I noticed how much better it could’ve been there, but they haven’t experienced the best of the best so they’re just grateful that they have their family and friends to keep them company. Money can buy happiness but people are what can make you joyful.

As a person who was hit alot as a child I agree. I love picking my scabs. It's just so satisfying when you get your nail under it and just pick or flick it off or when its a softer one that you can peel off. It's especially satisfying when they don't start bleeding, no mess, just clean scab picking, but when they do bleed it's quite exciting as well, cause that means new scabs to pick in a couple of days. I conveniently get a lot of small skin scratches on my arms and legs from my job, which involves unboxing items and putting them on the shelves in the store I work in. A lot of the time I don't even notice the scabbed wound until I randomly scratch my arm or my legs and accidentally pick a scab. The best feeling in the world.

Not all parents should be parents. There are some people that are abusive or just simply can’t handle the responsibility. But being a parent is treated as the best thing ever for everyone that any critique of toxic parents or a desire to not be one is seen as selfishness.
The part about parents hit really hard It was not until I started spending time with my grandma that I realized it was not normal for my parents to treat me the way they did for breaking plates and cups It was really traumatizing and now I'm a people pleaser who apologizes for everything (don't worry, I'm working on it)

Deodorant with aluminum doesn’t work for me or my family, so we just recently found a new alternative and it’s lemon juice straight from the lemon, we put the juice into little travel sized spray bottles and it works like a charm even better than deodorant that contains aluminum. 😌 you guys should definitely try it out make sure to strain the lemon juice before putting into a spay bottle or else it gets clogged
lol i just use aluminum free clear blue gel deodorant from old spice it works fine for me too, but the aluminum spray one gave me an allergic reaction so i dont use it anymore

Sometimes when I lend somebody money, I know that it’s going to be a long time until I see that money again or it might not come back to me at all, like if I’m helping somebody with essentials like groceries. But if we’re going out to bar or restaurant and you don’t send me back what is owed within a week (unless you tell me exactly when you are paying me) I will be upset.

The aluminum free deodorant is definitely NOT working. I thought I was the only one who noticed. I was literally so embarrassed one day bc my mom bought aluminum free bc apparently aluminum causes cancer or smth. Tell me why I wore it to school, half way in I was starting to STINK. It's fear mongering from the 'chemicals are bad' people. Also, aluminium reduces sweat production, which is what anti-perspirants are, while deodorants are just fragrances.
Personally, using anti bacterial soap cures armpit odors better for me than deodorants. And I have really bad odors. I can go without deodorant after using antibacterial soap and not smell. Whereas the deodorant alone stops working for me after three hours. I’m not even sure what type I use, but I believe it’s aluminum free. Some are better than others. So far I’ve found the best one for me, but anti bacterial soap is my confidant 😅. Hopefully it’ll work for you too if you decide to try it. Edit: I started a new deodorant, same brand as the last, but it looks like I’ve been using aluminum the whole time lol. Also, I feel like at this point everything is cancer causing and it’s becoming harder to avoid everything that causes it so I give up 🥲.

The thing that Courtney said about friends who owe you money reminded me the situation that my sister's in for like, over A YEAR NOW. So she had a boyfriend and when they broke up they still remained friends. This person is not very stable financially so she was lending him money all the time (even for the smallest things) or in some cases she would buy things that HE wanted and because he didnt have any money. Anyways now he owes her around 100€ but he propably forgot about it💀 Edit: My sister was lending him money because she had a very soft spot for him, and she couldnt bare the thought of him being sad. So she would practically sacrifice her needs and savings for him. At some point it seemed like he was taking a huge advantage of her and her kindness but no matter how many times i warned her she wouldn't listen.

Bc there were times I spent money and let her use my credit card to buy things we could both use in the dorm. Even when she started getting stingy with the stuff. Then she started letting other people talk bad about me. The money I owe her, I now consider my emotional compensation. I like to lay people back if I borrow, but her, yeah never.
For me, money can only buy temporary happiness. Yeah, money makes life easier and less stressful. You feel happy on that trip, you feel excited when you open a package of new clothes. But if you’re not genuinely happy in general, that excitement fades afterwards and you’re back to the default low. Celebrities like Robbin Williams are perfect examples of this. You can have all the money in the world and everything you’ve ever wanted, and still feel lonely, depressed, empty, low self esteem, etc.

My mother always tried victimizing herself when i called her out, it was horrible. She limited my teen experiences, too. She said i was a girl, it looked bad for me to go out with friends, she said i was always dressing up for boys, and it ruined my social life. All of that made me grow up to part from her completely. As a person who’s been in an abusive relationship.. how is it possible that ppl can comprehend it’s wrong to hit a partner for not listening to you or dropping something or not doing something the way you wanted them to but can’t comprehend it’s wrong to hit a child for the exact same reasons?

My guess, those kinds of people who kinda have that double standard don't see children and adults to be equal. They over-complicate things to be "Kids are inexperienced, they need to be disciplined", etc. Hitting your partner is seen as having no respect for them, hitting a kid is seen as teaching them respect. In reality, both adult and child are human.
It’s possible because those are the people who hit their kids. They don’t want to look within and see what they’re doing is wrong, so they’d rather normalize it. If they started hitting their partner, they’d become the people who defend domestic violence. Abusers always defend abusers. Sorry for what you’ve been through ❤
About "money doesn't buy you happiness", I TOTALLY AGREE with her, cuz I really feel like people who didn't grow up poor are the ones saying it doesn't but it really makes life wayyy easier and opportunities are endless if you're a good person or a hardworking one.
Personally I disagree I grew up with minimal opportunities an just enough money in the family for a roof food clothes and having to choose between my birthday or Christmas an when I turned 18 I made enough to pay off my parents debt an was able to take care of my family till I was alone with my money no friends no more family so I’ve had to learn that just because money makes things easy doesn’t mean it makes things better especially life an I have learned how to continue to be happy an make the most in my life with whatever funds and opportunities I have immediately available and if money is something someone needs to be happy or thinks makes them happy I’d rather not have them in my life based off what I’ve gone through I like people who remember money is so temporary an anything can happen at anytime in ur life so just be happy day to day

I recently visited my home town in Egypt for the first time and I noticed that everyone was really happy, even though they were living in the worst conditions. They barely had any money, and everyone was constantly out trying to sell things, but you can see how rich the culture was, and how every one was just happy with what they had and nobody was thinking about how much better it could’ve been. For reference, I live in Canada and I would say I live in middle class and when I went to Egypt, I noticed how much better it could’ve been there, but they haven’t experienced the best of the best so they’re just grateful that they have their family and friends to keep them company. Money can buy happiness but people are what can make you joyful.

I love picking my scabs. It's just so satisfying when you get your nail under it and just pick or flick it off or when its a softer one that you can peel off. It's especially satisfying when they don't start bleeding, no mess, just clean scab picking, but when they do bleed it's quite exciting as well, cause that means new scabs to pick in a couple of days. I conveniently get a lot of small skin scratches on my arms and legs from my job, which involves unboxing items and putting them on the shelves in the store I work in. A lot of the time I don't even notice the scabbed wound until I randomly scratch my arm or my legs and accidentally pick a scab. The best feeling in the world.

I think the main argument against money buying happiness is the scenarios where it can't, like an incurable disease or the death of a loved one etc. But isn't it "easier" to go through those depressing experiences with MONEY IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT? It would feel even worse to go through that with no money lol. Money will not make every nature of problems disappear but it will make it a hell of a lot easier to deal with them.

Sometimes when I lend somebody money, I know that it’s going to be a long time until I see that money again or it might not come back to me at all, like if I’m helping somebody with essentials like groceries. Personally, using anti bacterial soap cures armpit odors better for me than deodorants. And I have really bad odors. I can go without deodorant after using antibacterial soap and not smell. Whereas the deodorant alone stops working for me after three hours. I’m not even sure what type I use, but I believe it’s aluminum free. Some are better than others. So far I’ve found the best one for me, but anti bacterial soap is my confidant 😅. Hopefully it’ll work for you too if you decide to try it.
Edit: I started a new deodorant, same brand as the last, but it looks like I’ve been using aluminum the whole time lol. Also, I feel like at this point everything is cancer causing and it’s becoming harder to avoid everything that causes it so I give up 🥲.

The thing that Courtney said about friends who owe you money reminded me the situation that my sister's in for like, over A YEAR NOW. So she had a boyfriend and when they broke up they still remained friends. This person is not very stable financially so she was lending him money all the time (even for the smallest things) or in some cases she would buy things that HE wanted and because he didnt have any money. Anyways now he owes her around 100€ but he propably forgot about it💀
Edit: My sister was lending him money because she had a very soft spot for him, and she couldnt bare the thought of him being sad. So she would practically sacrifice her needs and savings for him. At some point it seemed like he was taking a huge advantage of her and her kindness but no matter how many times i warned her she wouldn't listen.
I had a friend in college and I guess I still owe her money but I don’t consider it as such. Bc there were times I spent money and let her use my credit card to buy things we could both use in the dorm. Even when she started getting stingy with the stuff.

You can have all the money in the world and everything you’ve ever wanted, and still feel lonely, depressed, empty, low self esteem, etc.

No because in all seriousness, i am BEGGING parents, DO NOT HIT YOUR KIDS. My mother did that so much, she hit me for little mistakes as a way to "learn." My mother always tried victimizing herself when i called her out, it was horrible. She limited my teen experiences, too. She said i was a girl, it looked bad for me to go out with friends, she said i was always dressing up for boys, and it ruined my social life. All of that made me grow up to part from her completely. Now i can wear my shirt without being told my hips are visible, and i can pick up the broken glass of a dropped cup and not be hit with it.

OMG the money can't buy happiness thing I totally agree with. It doesn't make sense to me, honestly money can sometimes buy happiness, with being able to get things you like, buying lunch with your friends, pets, and more. All those things can bring someone happiness.

def agree with people going outside and learning from experience. I'm the type of person who prefers to be inside but I see the value in going out and trying different experiences. i'm not exactly book smart but i'm not exactly street smart either but I think everyone should have a little bit of both so people aren't blindly agreeing/disagreeing with things they see/read/people they talk to. the world isn't black and white so knowing how to keep yourself safe is ones best bet.

I’m a book smart person, I’m told I’m mature for my age and how I handle stuff but put me in some real world situations I would’ve been doomed, but idk the moment I got a phone and saw people’s true intentions I made sure I knew that I was streeet smart, then realized all the times I was taken advantage of, and it is like that a book smart person is like so easily fooled, idk
