A beetle did 1 million miles no problem. Anyway old diesels are getting banned slowly from urban areas and soon from other areas. Diesel fuel will continue to be increased and emissions tightened. The end of diesel is nigh and I say give it ten years in Europe for diesel to be outnumbered and 15 years to dissappear.
No właśnie już tych aut malutko. Gnije strasznie, trafia się fajne egzemplarze jak właśnie mojego kumpla ale przeważnie większość na złomie a szkoda, bo auto naprawdę super

That's why the big boys ( oil companies, manufacturers ) hate diesel engines now. Diesel is too reliable and too econonical, but the question is who is gona use gasoline, since all the goods transport and many cars are running on diesel.
Lol, it poluates a lot thats why its hated, only old diesel are semi-relayable, newer ones lile 1.6 tdi are a joke, gasoline and hybrid cars are economical, nowadays relayable, and cheap. Diesel is pretty much only good for heavy transport.
I took driving lessons with this engine in a Vectra (1997). The 1.7 Turbo Diesel 82HP engine is smooth, the gearbox is wonderful, and the engine has enough torque for driving in daily traffic. Does it outperform cars nowadays? By no means! But it'll get you there. The best thing: this engine is reliable. If you don't push it, it can run for over 600K km with ease.
The best engine ever! With a few cheap mods you can easily get over 100hp. I had a corsa b with the 1.5td isuzu engine and it had 97hp and 200nm after the mods
@@puremoney2725 Take out the cat, install intercooler, sport air filter mat. Get a manual boost controller valve and a boost gauge to adjust the boost. Then adjust the fuel screw on the diesel pump. I drove 1.4 bar with the fuel screw screwed 3/4 turn more in. You can start with 1 bar and 1/2 turn because its also a lot torque for the clutch. Mine was very new which worked.
I was visiting the Kraków area the day you posted this video. It was just a one-day detour during a trip throughout the East of Slovakia. Hoping to get back soon and be able to visit the Katowice area as well. Loving the indestructible old diesel station wagon vibe in this car.
Nice! I had my first driving lessons in a similar car. Also a 1.7 TD but a sedan. I remember the turbo kicking in when giving it full throttle heading to the highway. Only thing is that the car I drove in was brandnew. This one does show the mileage and time but great to see it still runs.
It seems there is an issue with power steering. I used to own 2 Astras F 1.4 60 hp and 1.6 71 hp. Except the corrosion they were great, reliable and easy to fix vehicles. Regards from Chorzów 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
I see that the power steering does not work very far, but it is the only fault that I see and maybe it is just a lack of liquid, it goes well in general to have 500,000 kms, those engines last a lifetime
Congratulation Joe Black. The Opel Astra F ( 1 generation ) looks good in shape , and even after more than 30 years , its shapes are chic and graceful. I tis said that the meeting is time less. The same i s true of the previous Opel Kadett E ( last generation ). I dont want to talk about their British Vauxhall Astra versions here , but only about their continental Europe clones ( Opel Kadett , Opel Astra ). The next generation of the Opel Astra G , too , is also time less interms of shape , and in the same sense it i s possible to write about the next generation of the Opel Astra H , but the Opel Astra J did not appeal to me andmy person at all. The shapes of Astra J are too hard on my person. Its a draw for the Opel Astra K , but now the New Opel Astra L , well i d like it here. But still , the first 3 generations of F, G ,H , still come out of today' s technical complexity . It would just like ( following the example of the Volkswagen Golf ) to have a fully galvanized body . I know what I ' m talking about, I had as my first car Opel Corsa B ( model 1995 year ) , engine 1.2 i , 33 kilowatts - 45 hp . Action model Family . I had her for 15 years , and I took good care of her . Every 4 years spraying and conservation of cavities and underfloor ( anticorrosion treatment ). But in the end , it was all to me because her life was ended by a serious car accident , her back . The BMW X6 ( 1 generation ) crashed into it from behind , and since then I have an aversion to all these tall cars . Suddently it was so strong that the rear axle was bent into an inverted U shape after a sudden , and the fuel tank was torn off by .
Half a million kilometres and the rough diesel still runs and runs and runs. Amazing!

Amazing. The engine will last longer than the rest of the car 👍

That's true. Common rail is improved (e.g. no smoke like old tractor with black cloud) but EU force producers to selling only EV.
