I’m a former Paramedic, I’ve been more than 10 years in the field. I’m gonna tell you something about watches : nothing beats a G-Shock when you’re a first responder. Period.
Well... I hate to break it to you. Your G-Shock is better than a Patek or any top tier brand in every measurement then, from its accuracy to the features it provides. But that is not the main point especially when you are in a mechanical watch channel?? The whole bloody point is it is a mechanical watch.....
One of the best watch reviews I have seen. Carefully showing and explaining the various functions, as well as talking about specifications, pros and cons. Not a watch for my slim wrists, but I enjoyed the video.
Im an EMT, so im gonna tell u how i check pulse. So we put first two fingers on the radial artery and we fell the pulse for 10 seconds and Multiply it by 6, so we get BPM( Beats per minute).
Wow, this is such a gorgeous watch with functionality that creates a unique niche. I have a feeling more watch manufacturers will follow this an example for even the simplest things like the box storage option for 1 or 2 watches. From a marketing point-of-view they are speaking to true watch consumers and collectors because we certainly do not have just ONE watch! And every time we open that box for either of 2 watches stored we are reminded of the company by name, creativity and their consideration for us. Bravo to this microbrand! Pete, thanks for your fantastic review.
Dylan’s been thinking, and his engineering shows! Great observations Peter, it’s nice to see the Ozzy Watch makers emerging on the world stage. Maybe the next issue will be grade 2 Ti for wearability?
Great review as always Pete. What a beautiful piece and you can see the quality finishing from the review shots. Would like a dive version as I really like the dial layout, but the price for a 9000 series is bit high
As for the caseback, this feature cannot be rated highly enough: I sometimes watch with flat caseback, especially ones with glass in them uncomfortable as they tend to stick to the wrist on hot days.
Pete, sorry but no doctor needs a watch like this to count someone's pulse. We watch 15 or 20 seconds, count how many pulsations occur and multiply by 4 or 3 depending. It's a solution for a problem that doesn't exist... looks sort of OK, if a bit busy. An acquired taste for sure.
Love the design & aesthetics generally. The power reserve is a hit for me, considering I generally hate them. For taking pulse rates, as a former, I stress former athlete for some 20+ years, back in the day I used a digital Lorus watch. After intense training sessions, or competition, I’d take my pulse over 10 seconds, multiply by 6 & get an accurate result. Put it this way when your heart rate is around 200 bpm, it’s a tad difficult keeping up!😵💫🤪🥵 Resting pulse rate at that time was 36.
I had to Google because I thought it was a Yiddish word I somehow hadn’t heard before. But turns out it’s a South African picking up the Aussie lingo: Schmick. Smart, stylish; excellent. Schmick (sometimes shmick) is a relatively recent addition to Australian English.
Maybe I’m wrong about this but if you’re measuring yours or someone else’s heartbeat manually, don’t you just count the beats for 30 seconds and then double that to get their heartbeat?
Thanks for this vid. I really like the work done by certain micro-brands. But this one doesn't seem to me of much interest. The watch is not really beautiful, the Myiota inside is pretty cheap and this brand name in the "Swiss Romandy" way annoys me from an Australian brand.
I purchased a Farer Cobb Monopusher for the mere fact that it has a pulsometer scaled dial. Upon receipt of the ⌚, however, the size of the font for the printed scale on the dial itself is so small that it requires magnification. This ⌚ has a nice size pulsometer scale conveniently printed on the bezel. From a practical standpoint, though, a pulsometer scale entails interpolation between values and is better for arriving at an estimated value rather a precise measurement. When I use it, as rarely as I do, it is useful to note if the second hand is above 100 bpm or below 60 bpm when thirty pulses are noted. A problem with this ⌚ is that it lacks a chronograph for recording the exact position of the second hand, but a pulsometer scale is by no means meant to replace a pulse oximeter or even thirty second traditional pulse measurement. Do miss some of the vintage Longines ⌚ that have a monopusher chronograph with both pulsomerer and asthmometer scales printed on the dial.
Both you and Jody from JOMW talks about function over form with this watch and I just don't see it.. Pulsometer, very few people need that. Pulsometer on a rotating bezel is probably needed by even fewer. 24h subdial, nobody needs that. Power reserve is not really needed either, to be honest. However the watch looks cool as heck and the complications makes the look even more interesting as they are a bit on the rare side.. To me this watch is looks over function, not the other way around. Even the bracelet with a cool looking butterfly clasp, but no micro adjust says looks over function.
Looks nicely finished…the black is a little more legible at glance it would seem..appreciate someone doing something a bit different. Very nice watch..great video as always
This kind of thing is really otside of my interests. Having watched a different review of this watch before, I was also somewhat doubtful that the decisions en route to an original design were worth it. Especially the very suboptimally looking date window amidst a detail oriented design seemed odd. In addition, this oversized bezel makes the whole thing unbalanced to my eye. But, then you come with your suave commentary and gorgeous footage, and the design starts revealing more of its intrinsic qualities. It is still not for me, but I betrer appreciate it nay well be for someone else.
My ex wife uses heart rate for patience every day. She works Palative care. End of life . She would never wear a watch because it hooks their patients clothing . This watch digs at a frail body. She wants a fob on her chest. This is for the medical? What health professionals who dont get their hand dirty like doctors. Its not a proper watch for a medical professional. You can say what you want. This is a usless watch for any nurse or pcw. I cant see how this is a nice watch?😢😢😢. It totally will not be used be anyone who works and lift patients. Its a doctor's useless watch thang. Its a watch for a arrogant doctor who make a mess fixing you and walks off get the nurses to clean up after him because he doesn't touch garbage because he is too good. I know im harsh but this is not a watch for anything other than a angel sitting in a ivory tower bud. 👎
Err you can use absolutely any watch for that. It's an ugly watch. The power gauge is terrible. I'm sorry but I'm struggling to say anything positive. The bezel is OTT. Nice bracelet and case. The 24 hours is a total waste of time. If it was a GMT OK. I can't understand why you are reviewing it to be honest. I went to check the prices. It's a reasonable price I suppose... IF I want a huge out of place power reserve meter and I pointless 24 hours circle. This watch makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm baffled.

explain!
Which g shock is recommended?
I believe you, but could you elaborate why..?
Well... I hate to break it to you. Your G-Shock is better than a Patek or any top tier brand in every measurement then, from its accuracy to the features it provides. But that is not the main point especially when you are in a mechanical watch channel?? The whole bloody point is it is a mechanical watch.....
@@ToolwatchBoutique G shock has all the fonctions you might need in the field, more accurate, more reliable, tougher…
Many thanks Peter for the exposure - appreciate your content and videography as always!
Cheers Dilon
Good show as always, as for the watch, Mom used to say " if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all ! " so...
Thanks for your review Peter. I think the white dial watch with a black bezel would look great and overcome the bezel legibility issue.
Yes, that thought did occur to me as well 👍

I really like the case back and the bezel. Looks very well made.
Wow. Really cool timepiece. Stunning. Thank you for the vid. 👍

Beautiful case! I like the dial layout too, even though I’m not really a fan of 24hr subdials. Great bezel twist knurling!

I think it's brilliant. Nice design, cool features and an overall good fit and finish 👌🏻
As for the caseback, this feature cannot be rated highly enough: I sometimes watch with flat caseback, especially ones with glass in them uncomfortable as they tend to stick to the wrist on hot days.
Sinn also does pulsometers (and chronographs) in one go. More useful.
Interesting watch. The bezel knurling stands out and has a visual impact to the design.
Love that bezel knurling
Nicely finished watch! Really like the bezel knurling. Cheers
Something different, that's for sure. I wish him well.
24 hour sub dial kills it for me but that's just what I like I hope this new brand does well

Yeah I know,
Probably a nice function to teach your children about fitness and health. And also about watches 😊👍
Love the design & aesthetics generally. The power reserve is a hit for me, considering I generally hate them. A super case Sub for people with heartbeat related anxiety
Cracking watch. I really love the look of the caseback, although that makes not much sense. 😀🕐🍸🍸

Schmick. Smart, stylish; excellent. Schmick (sometimes shmick) is a relatively recent addition to Australian English.
Im not sure if the pulsometer is usable at all here,it looks more like the brand wanted to be original somehow
Maybe I’m wrong about this but if you’re measuring yours or someone else’s heartbeat manually, don’t you just count the beats for 30 seconds and then double that to get their heartbeat?

If the 24 hour subdial could be adjusted to track a different time zone it would be a wrap. Without that functionality I don't really see much point.
Nice watch. The case looks so much like the modern Sub

Nice looking and functioning watch. How about a white bezel with black pulse measuring markers to make readings more legible? Just a thought.
Obviously on the watch with the white dial.
The white dial with a black bezel insert would look good, unfurtnately it does not seem to be an option.
You moved the bezel just before I got to 30 heart beats. Now I'll never know. :(
@Peter Kotsa Nice "Sign - Off".
It looks very good as a tool watch. Very nice.
I thought the 24 hour sub dial was going to be a gmt function!!
Seems a bit pointless as is to me.
Nice looking watches though.👍

I think the dial would be more beautiful if the power indicator was removed, and the date was moved to the bottom replacing the 24 hour indicator.
So basically, you'd like it more if it were a basic three-hander...🤣
@@LTC_Tiger I really think, it would look much better without any hands. 🎉🕐🍸🍸
Yeah, but why would you want that a constant running seconds hand? This makes more sense and is simpler to use as a chronograph.
That bezel is hideous
Looks nicely finished…the black is a little more legible at glance it would seem..appreciate someone doing something a bit different. Very nice watch..great video as always
The date spoils the watch, as is so often the case.
AWESOME LOOKING 😮❤
Too bad his website simply doesn’t work. (Freezes up)
Nice looking watch. Useless feature. Measure pulse for 10 seconds, multiply by 6 and thats it.
Thank you!
Butterfly clasps need to go the way of the dodo...I hate a badly fitting watch with a passion, it has to be just right to be comfortable.
A original brand from a microbrand for once...
Good effort but >1k for a Miyota is not really attractive.
That is a very handsome watch. But it could do without the 24h dial.
This kind of thing is really otside of my interests. It’s a pit they didn’t use the 24 hour dial for a GMTfunction
Hey Pete
Watch it is just so so in the ok area.
But company is. .. 👎 .
I won’t review them whatsoever.
Best regards my friend.
Oh thats no good...

No thanks.
Everything no one wants.
Homage case, Butterfly clasp, 24 hr sub dial, oversized power monitor, horrible bezel, high price.
Glad to be first comment. 1st
Maybe broaden your scope more to include healthcare workers? Nurses are the ones more often checking patient heart rates anyway.
Maybe stop using a narrative to virtue signal towards people who are not even getting offended ? Karen.
Are you seriously promoting this nonsense as something special?
Great watch. Wrong price.
