I "gulp" at the amount of money you have tied up in test equipment... Amazing...

Terrific and insightful video. Thank you for explaining things in detail such as how the lights are wired in series. It was neat to see all the testing that you ran the receiver through.

great vid1 . have a 2040 on bench with bad left chan. LOL..-54v on the TP term. literally pulled and tested every transistor and the one zener. all good. baffled. note: with L chan brd removed; the unit comes up and right chan works perfectly. do i need to test output transistors with higher voltage at collectors to see leakage ?. seen sim tech in the SS guit/bass rigs i normally see... but buddy really want this workin. any thoughts I'm missing?

What would you charge for the restoration you did for the CR 1040

Excellent video. I just squires a Yamaha CR840 is excellent condition. The lamps were replaced by the previous owner and cleaned up but no components changed. To my ears its working perfectly but do you still think its worth replacing the caps and doing an upgrade?

It looks fine, some extra light will help the auto focus. For me this is fine.

It DOES look like you need to adjust the white balance on your new camera (as per James Hunts comment), plus try and get some kind of tripod to get rid of the slight camera shake. Otherwise it's looking good. Warmest regards from Wayne and Nina (in Suffolk, England) :)

i ddont know if amyone has suggested this but the indicator lamp holders for a jaguar xjs and for some other automotive dash indicators may work.send me an addy link and i can send you one for consideration.even new they are cheap and can be had with or without lamps installed at your local parts store.great vids and first class work.
