He reminds me of Joe Thomas so much. Same size, foot speed, poster and balance in pass protection, also how they work independent hands to get inside positioning. He even has the same issues with run blocking that Joe had coming out of Wisconsin.
@@MrQuizno99 definitely less polish than what Joe had, but there's too many similarities for me to unsee it. Joe was also famously a finesse offensive lineman coming into the league, and to an extent throughout his career. What is your comp for him?
Born December 9, 2002. Played high school football with the Gonzaga College Eagles. Played college football with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Drafted #11 overall with the New York Jets.
It will make a lot of sense if the commanders get this guy or Joe Alt in the draft. They have a high enough pick to pick either, give Howell time and he will improve a lot.
I'm very impressed with how well he composes himself after getting pushed in. He doesn't have the best impact and is getting pushed in by that smaller defender on Michigan, but he's adjusting GRACEFULLY! And reclaims the advantage every time. That should translate well to the next level most of the time. I'm a bit worried how he'll fare when he has to go up against more elite strength Pass rushers though like Myles Garrett.
This was before Howell started to shit the bed so who knows now, we were picking around 4 at this time but now since Wash is at 2 i think they're going QB for sure@@zach72910
His job now is to protect Aaron Rogers blind side. Olu Fashanu will be facing the best OLBs and DE's in the NFL. He is going to start from game 1. Good luck, Olu. I'll be watching you!
Ngl, I like Fashanu a lot and would take him on the commanders in a heartbeat, but he kinda has a Russel Okung feel to him. Nothing wrong with that, he was solid and had a long career. But heading into the season he was supposed to be far & away the top tackle in his draft, then Trent Williams took that title on draft night. I could see something similar with Fashanu. He seems pretty sound technically, but doesn’t have “wow” traits I guess. Regardless, I’m just a dumb civilian and have no idea what I’m looking at when scouting 9x out of 10 so I’m sure I’m wrong and he’ll be an all pro early.
You’re spot on! Fashanu seems solid, but he struggles against power. At the next level he will struggle against power rushers who know how to work speed to power. Alt and Fuaga are better prospects. I still like Fashanu though, he will be a good tackle.
It does seem like he struggles just a lil with bull rushes and speed to power. And at the next level guys are twice as strong and fast. But his footwork is off the charts. I personally think alt is a cant miss and would take take Alt over Fashanu . #TitanUp
High ceiling guy , quick ,excellent technique but sometimes it looks like he needs to add upper and lower body strength . He seems susceptible to bull rushes .I would give Alt the slightest edge for being Pro strong from day 1 in the NFL.
Yup he is projected to go to the commanders who have a top 5 draft pick and the next best ot is Joe alt and he is not making it of 15 gl with getting Olu Fashanu at like 16 plus
No he doesn’t he just has a leaner upper frame compared to his lower body but it’s also why he’s a technical monster in pass pro add 10 -15 in muscle/power in his upper body he’s going to be a great tackle for years to come
Amazed? He’s a college athlete. Big as hell, Moves really smooth/ quick and seems very fluid in his blocks. Only flaw I see is that he looks to get overpowered in the upperbody but that can change easily with NFL Strength & Conditioning. I like him over Joe Alt.
@@mtj3314Washington is actually rebuilding and an Anchor to protect howell would be a long needed thing. Once rivera is gone and They make EB HC and fill in the Gaps the skys the limit for washington.

A . might not seem all exciting to people but definitely needed more protection
The best LT in the entire draft he's a freaking dancing bear
He reminds me of Joe Thomas so much. Same size, foot speed, poster and balance in pass protection, also how they work independent hands to get inside positioning. He even has the same issues with run blocking that Joe had coming out of Wisconsin.
Good comparison.... I think hes better than joe alt... faster footwork, stout, looks for people to block
@@NAT-turners-Revenge Alt is still solid, he reminds me of Colton Miller
Ehhhh, Thomas might be an overstatement

Building that wall for Rogers & any other QB behind him Love this pick.

Howell benched homie
Well now were at 2 we could be drafting a QB now
Great footwork and technique, he’s able to recover well and has phenomenal balance, just needs to work on his release of the line

As a commanders fan I really want him as our OT. We got a high enough pick right?
Yep he will be there at 4 for sure
Caleb
Maye
MhJ
Then we pick next. Hes all ours if we want him
Yup I just saw mock of us taking him at #4
Welcome to the Commanders
Seems like a no brainer pick
Fitting too because he’s from the DC area. Born and raised in MD.
You taking him over Maye or Daniels?

yea as a cards fan if MHJ aint there this is my guy.
I take this guy over Harrison,.Way too many great wrs in the draft and y'all got soo many picks!~
Welcome to the Jets!!!🔥🔥🔥
Damn, 0:53 where he takes on two rushers is seriously impressive!
Biggest issue seems to be inconsistent pad level. He’d be my pick for the Titans at 7 personally
come to the BEARS we have a great spot with good qb

Fuaga Oregon right tackle is a monster!! That next trent williams on right side
I completely agree. Honestly I think Joe Alt is just as good if not better. Feel like his technique is a little more polished
@rashadkoker6946 i think Alt more like okung. Check out Morgan OT Arizona

Despite signing Tyron Smith, the New York Jets still need younger talent for their offensive line.
Tennessee TitanUp
the next tyron smith
Now they teammates
Welcome to Gang green Big man!
dude is a rock. The commanders would be dumb to not draft him unless Maye proves he is a can't pass prospect. This guy is 100% a can't pass prospect.
Very solid prospect but I really thought the class as a whole would be better.
Welcome to the big apple.
Trent Williams 2.0
He’s good just needs work on run block plays. But that he can learn in the nfl. Besides that he’s solid
We do have young talent though in Charles cross and Abraham Lucas tho.

Fashanu is solid, but I give Alt a better grade. Both are gone by the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
I want the commanders to draft either Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu with there pick. Us commanders need an elite OT more than anything else
Alt doesn’t get knocked back as far I’m with u

JC Latham is better than him..footwork is much better, placement of hands (quicker)and most importantly he holds his blocks. Big difference..
