I notice that the man’s right hand is on the ladies shoulder blade and not below her shoulder blade towards her spine as some other dancers is it the couples choice how the man’s right hand is positioned?

I believe that in tango Mens right hand should be slightly more towards Lady’s spine but not lower than in other dances.
Although today many things are changing.

The timing of the back corte you dance is SQSQ, which is different from the book timing of SQQS, which you count. This count you dance is pretty standard. Mirko does it frequently.

Thanks for watching carefully. I would describe timing of last step of Back Corte here as "delayed slow" - it starts on count 1 and steps on count 2

I realize many dance instructors bend the book timing like this to fit other timings like this. But slows and quicks by original usage correspond to musical half notes and quarter notes. A half note lasts 2 beats, a quarter note one. In any musical percussion instrument's rhythm, as written down, means the instrument is hit at the start of each note. If it's a half note, for example, the instrument is hit and two beats follow before the next one is hit. If dance slow/quick rhythm descriptions differ from this precise definition, they no longer have the ability to easily convey what the rhythm is. In many cases of standard dance, the steps can't be defined as quicks and slows because the timings are more complex, but in this case, this timing is precisely SQSQ, so it quickly and accurately describes when the steps occur. Saying it's SQQS, and then having to describe what each Q and S means is much less effective.

@@crayman2658 I don’t have strong opinion here. Maybe SQSQ is clearer to understand.

I believe a more precise name for what you call "outside swivel" is "reverse outside swivel."
