I had to give in the same kind of documents about twice. I asked for a 1bd but they asked if I wanted a studio. I was basically given the option a studio or the waiting list. So I'm currently in the waiting list. There are two or three buildings. Idk how long the wait is, but hopefully I get in
Congratulations, we may live in the same building. We moved in, in February of this year. Be honest, I got a lot of good stuff from Goodwill. Don’t underestimate Goodwill. By now you should be settled anyway.
They had 2 people on your case smh so confusing . Some workers are so nice and work very fast and efficient some are bullshitters . Glad you got your apartment !!

I been contacted 2 weeks ago from housing connect I even went to see the apartment last week . My application is currently under review . I have called to ask what the next process & they have told me that my unit is no longer available for me because one of the lower log numbers put an appeal for that apartment. So they placed me ina waitlist till they reach my log number . I just wanted to know if you ever heard of that ? .. I’m alittle upset because I feel like that’s so unprofessional of them but yeah I’m staying positive about it I hope they do call me back lol . I wanted to reach out to you since you have experienced getting an housing connect apartment

I just submitted my deposit explanation, that crap was so stressful. I want to cry! I pray and HOPE they accept what I explained cause I’ve used zelle like no one business. I was told by the case manager to “ make sure you give a GOOD details explanation” I’m scared as hell now. I hope they don’t add any of that as income, because it’s Not.

Hey thanks for the question. For my building I have to pay electricity but only for light and energy used for heat/AC so my bill depends on how much of those I use. I didn’t use my heat in the winter and I have been keeping my windows open with the warm heat here in NYC. Also I’m a natural lighting or no lighting kinda girl hahaa so my most expensive bill today has been $43
Quick Question- Were you able to pick your move in date for the 1st of the following month or did you have to move in right away where they prorate the rent? Im preparing for that 1st months and deposit but also have deposit at my current place. Thank you again.
Hi! I was able to pick my move in date and I was prorated yes! My best advice is save you 3 months rent in full if possible. It’s great to have the wiggle room.
Hey there! My log # is in the 16,000. I was emailed to submit documents (my life information) and the following day to fill out the interview checklist. I heard if you don’t have good credit they allow you to choose between checking your credit or paying 3 months rent. Is this true?
Hey girl as far as I remember I didn’t have to have my credit checked. They were really obsessed with how much money I was getting honestly! SMH BUTTTT I do believe that every building is different so it could be specially for your building that’s what they are doing. But I have not heard of that.
Hi Gigi, how many units were available for this building you moved into. Asking because I applied to a bunch and my log number are 3000+ with only about 15 units total for low/middle income
Hey Raz, do you have CB preference? If you live in the area of where the housing connect building is that gives you a higher chance of getting in because they process those applications first.
While each building has different rules I would recommend SAVE SAVE SAVE!!! Get you 6 months of banking statements. A notarized letter from landlord. If you have Venmo and cash up they want to see what you have in that too
@@shaygoodine9247 I’m not sure how moving up will be. I would like a 1 bedroom but I’ve seen on for the 1 bedrooms and it looks like my studio but with a wall in the middle to create the separation and the kitchen feels smaller. Idk if I want that.
On the NYC website, it says the following: Your application review is complete. The marketing agent will contact you with more instructions. Does this mean that I was approved. The marketing agent told me last that they were waiting approval from HPD. Did you get this type of message?
If I remember correctly yes. My application was in review then I got a call from the leasing agent and we started paperwork it took a long time for my application process but once it was done it was done so yay!! Good luck you got this!!!

Yes that usually means you have been approved but you can always call and confirm/ask
