Paul put just the right amount into that song. I think if this was created at the beginning of their career he would've harmonized with John from the first to the last lyric but here it is perfection. As has been said many many times before they really were two parts of the same brain. Two perfectionists who wouldn't stop working on a song until it was exactly the way they heard it in their heads and knew exactly when there was no more room for improving a piece.
Paul harmonized great in some early tunes too
"P.S. I Love You" comes to mind....
