I have had to practice no spend a LOT in my life! Now as a Senior Citizen on a very small pension, I started a list of what I felt I needed. Then I broke that list done to what "I NEED" VS "What I would like" Have done this for 3 years now and have gotten rid of a lot of stuff and bought almost nothing beyond food or meds.
Love the blouse in your opening outfit! Those pink sleeves do amazing things for your skin tone. Laughed out loud at the weak "make it rain" from the hubby. Andrew's was much better! You inspired me to look around my house to see if we have anything we can sell! Thanks for sharing.
I needed this more than I would have ever thought . Thank you so much I love your channel our lifestyles are so different yet you are one of the more relatable you tube channels I watch. Great job on no spend
I have done no spend weeks many times. I do not include bills and gas in that because bills HAVE to be paid, and gas is needed to get me to work and back.
My granite counter tops make me happy because I love cooking and baking and they make that a more enkyable experience and really in comparison to many other tops were only slightly more. I think you may on occasion get over focused on the money and all the things you will do eventually so may forget the here and now. I love being frugal and always look for a deal, buy second hand but this allows me to do other things and indulge when I want to.
Awesome video. Really appreciate that you went beyond the typical control budget just from the grocery budget. Hope your kids enjoyed George of the jungle. George George George of the jungle... watch out for that tree!!!
I really loved this video! You never cease to amaze me! I loved the story about the counter tops. Maybe we all have "counter tops" that we don't really need or truly want. I think I do and didn't really realize it til watching your video.
I ❤️ this video. I’ve been trying to reduce the number of Grocery pickup orders that I make. I’ve also been trying to use up what we have. I have a stockpile mentality which can be negative towards the budget if I don’t watch it.
I think there comes a point in everyone's life when they sit there and look around at there "STUFF" and realize none of this REALLY MEANS anything at all. None of it makes you happy or even brings joy. It's just stuff and when you get tired of all that stuff you get rid of it and along comes more stuff. I'm knocking of 50's door this year and the older I get the more I realize noone really NEEDS any of this stuff. So for the past few months little by little I've been trying to rid my life of all the stuff. And trying to focus on the things in life that really matter to me like family and friends. Stuff comes and stuff goes but what I've come to realize is that when you loose someone that's when it hits home none of the stuff really matters its the people that you need to put all of your energy and focus into. And the biggest + is theres soooooo much less to dust.
I know this is an old video. And you are in a small town. If you can get to a kohl’s to do your Amazon returns they give you coupons for doing the returns there and it’s just as easy. QR code. They package.
I love this video. I am currently on a “low spend” year, (I was was a bit intimidated to try a no spend year in case I failed! Lol) I am allowed to buy groceries, gas and gifts when needed, although I have reduced my weekly budgets, but mainly I’m trying to break my amazon addiction and like you say accumulating more stuff. It’s only been 7 weeks or so, but already I am really feeling the benefit, and have felt a total mindset change... finding things in my house that will serve the purpose I need rather than instantly going on Amazon to buy something that often just gets thrown in a drawer. I love it. I am absolutely going to try no spend weeks.. it’s the next step! Fabulous. I’m just so grateful I was randomly recommended your channel, your frugal tips and tricks, meals and your fabulous personality and attitude have made your channel a firm favourite of mine already 😊
We have weeks we don't spend every other month. We have to buy uniform s for four kids. I buy enough for 5 days because some how in September they seem to grow out of it. Mid End of September we get them 7 uniforms each. We save up in APRIL for school in fall. We do odd jobs to baby sit or help local farms neighbor s garden now lawns . We walk or ride bikes if it's near by too.
Check with your local or campus library. Our little library has free digital streaming and rental movies and tv shows with different companies. For example ours is Hoopla. We get 10 rentals a month. All you should need to do is look at your library services and once you get to their streaming app or website just type on your library and library card and pin🙂
Love this kind of episode. Your talk at the end really resonated with me and reminds me of a quote. "Love people, use things. The opposite doesn't work." - Joshua Fields Millburn (The Minamalist)
I am done Christmas shopping and I did not shop today black Friday. So, I was looking forward to my no spend week which begins sunday and will run thru the following sunday. However, I broke the light switch in my truck and have to have lights to see to drive, and that repair is 240.00, so the no spending week has been postponed. However, the only expense I forsee is the one already budgeted for and there is no other spending....
Great video - you made me smile and good for you! You will notice, as you get older, that the "rush" of buying things isn't there which helps immensely. Even grocery shopping (by the way you are awesome at it). Have a great week.
You mentioned that you sold a cellphone, I have a couple I would like to sell but I don't know how to delete everything?? Would you tell me how to do this, if it's simple 😰
So not only did you not spend money you actually made money😮😮😮very impressive. 10 free rented movies is really good. Our library’s charge for movie rentals😌
Awesome job with the no spend ! I need to find a way to baby sit and a way to sell stuff that didn’t work out for me - I don’t have Facebook or any social media .. if you guys have suggestions on an app or site I would greatly appreciate it ! 🙏🏼
No offense but spending 30 bucks on kids shorts isn't my idea of frugal. I used to enjoy your videos, but lately all I see is you talk about money and how much you spend on crap.
Marcia Jones they’re not “kid” shorts, they’re volleyball shorts and have to be a certain material/brand/color most times especially if she’s wearing them during games. Geez don’t be so hateful.
No offense intended honestly. But perhaps your idea of Frugal and my idea of frugal are totally different. My idea of frugal is how to put food on the table. I do enjoy your videos. That being said, we come from two totally different backgrounds. 30 dollars for a pair of volleyball shorts might not seem much for you, but for many of us out there, being frugal isn't a hobby it's out of necessity.
All of the stuff in our house used to be money.... ouch 😃
Right?
SUCH a good way to phrase it!!!
🤯

This was fun! I really enjoyed that perspective at the end. And yay to decluttering and selling stuff!

I really enjoyed this! I am ready to do my own no-spend challenge!! You've inspired me!

Soooo true Angie!!! Plus having money saved up really gives me a peace of mind

Totally going to do a no spend week. I tried a no spend month...crashed and burned!!! Maybe a week is more doable.🙂
I feel like the no spend week is so much more attainable!

I love Hoopla. I get 6 a month.
Definitely need to practice this more often.
I was hoping there would be some food preparation as well...but this is good.

You go, girl.
I need to do that
This was one of my very favorite videos!
Yikes, it's been in the 90s here this week! Nebraska heat wave...🔥
Yes!!! I need to do this! Thanks for sharing.
Christine, you should do poshmark. You can make good money on there!
Great video - you made me smile and good for you! You will notice, as you get older, that the "rush" of buying things isn't there which helps immensely. Even grocery shopping (by the way you are awesome at it). Have a great week.
I am also a minimalist (not my house in thumbnail) which helps.
Inspiring ending. Very insightful. 👌
Thank you so much for sharing your video. I as well needed to hear this. Now I have the bug to sell things around my house.
I loooove this video. Thanks for the library movie idea! I've been inspired. I think I'll start a no-spend week also!
Love you floral baseball tee! Nice color on you! ❤️
LOVED THIS VIDEO!! This has inspired me to try a no spend week, the only problem is getting my dad to follow it. Love you girl and your videos ❤️❤️
No gas- that's commitment
I would love to be an online instructor. That sounds so cool and convenient.
