As a huge history nerd, I think about a new "Dark Age" all the time. I preserve my life in material objects and notes so that hundreds of years from now, if humans are still alive, people can study the life of a common woman without needing online access. I've kept my favourite dresses, letters, birthday cards, souvenirs, relationship stuff, etc. because I think about what historians are going to be able to study years from now all the time. Again, this is because I'm a huge history nerd and think about history and the future of historical study all the time.

This has happened before. When the acid pulp method of making paper was invented in the 19th century, it was widely used. As a librarian, i had to deal with first editions of Dickens's novels turning to brown dust.
Also, all the information stored on tape and the various forms of disk are all doomed. On the other hand, the books printed in the 16th century are still in excellent condition.
And then came space force. Cant wait to see what they reveal to us. Good times ahead people.
