Isn't it ironic that Richard nearly did the same thing that Ben eventually did in the Season Five finale - kill Jacob? In fact, Richard didn't even try to stop himself from killing Jacob. The latter was able to stop him, but he didn't bother to stop Ben from killing him. I wonder why.
In retrospective, the pre episode discussion about "why can't Jacob and the man in black do this and that" is both the essence of the show and of this very episode. They are "deities", but they don't appear to be almighty. They have human flaws, so what they do is not necessarily the best thing for their cause. Just like any other character on the show. More on that, they have powers, but they appear not to really know how to use them. Beautiful concept. This side of Lost always fascinated me, because is the foundation of all the mysteries and the adventures and the drama.
But one of them COULD have been almighty, right? If they had the combined powers... instead of the, as Zola put, "separation of powers," like Jacob's predecessor.
@@FLQueerLiberal1982 that's a discussion for another episode, but my short answer is "no", just because of the way that power is (not) explained (and I mean character to character, not character to viewer)
@@DRush76 True, but Ben fell the furthest and has had the biggest reversal of fortune. Honestly, though, I have to admit that Michael Emerson’s facial expressions and dry delivery are probably why I find his torment so entertaining.
I just found out the Zoe character who was so annoying & I did not like was originally supposed to be ceaser. After they hired him he backed out & they had to write him off. What's interesting is instead of getting mad the Lost writers thought it was a opportunity to do the plan they originally had when the show first started. I pretty sure you know micheal Keaton was supposed to be Jack then die early in the season & Kate replace him as the leader but ABC wanted Jack to be permanent character so Keaton left project. Anyways when they killed Ceaser off they were like for fun we get to do what we originally wanted by making Ilana the leader.
Speaking of aphasia, it's just been in the headlines recently. Sadly, Bruce Willis is now having to retire because he has developed aphasia. No more Die Hard movies. 😪

@19:34 I'm begging someone, ANYBODY, to check Mikhail's body for a pulse. I know dude just got shot in the eye, but he's already died like 3 or 4 times on this damn show, and ppl STILL don't make sure he's D-E-D, DEAD 😂
David your so right. We knew about that Richard episode. I also remember we knew season 4 premiere was about Hurley. I remember Eggtown promotion was a new member of the Oceanic 6 would be revealed then not believing Aaron counted & being fooled in Ji Yeon & then hoping Sawyer might have still gotten off. Finally there is a later episode which we knew it was about a very important character. Love these reactions & thanks
Hey, David, I think I would be remiss to suggest Lost Explained for your three awesome friends. It's a great channel that REALLY explains everything... like a thesis for every topic possible related to the show. Any and everything that caused confusion is no longer confusing. Please react on the channel, I beg you guys.... the Island Couch Quartet.
@@davidnaffie yay! I think the other three members of The Island Couch Quartet (that's my new nickname for you guys) would love it! And if they do, maybe all of them. And since some of episodes are so short they can be watched with other episodes in one viewing. This would be awesome, especially since this with y'all is coming to a close. Yes, I'm begging, LOL... See, I only just discovered your reactions back when y'all were starting season 4. So I started with the last four episodes of your season 3 reactions and got caught up. Thus, my time with y'all has been short 😔😔😔 and I feel cheated 😉😉😉🤣🤣🤣
That's only my humble view on it but I feel like Lost explained is a good thing to watch but only after at least the second view of the serie (3rd one even for some people). The reason being that the second watch by yourself is another very good lost experience to have and it gives you a lot of things to think about by yourself. i don't think giving "the answers" to people on the first view is a good thing unless they ask or talk about it of course. It's only after you got deeper in the comprehension of the show that Lost explained should be approached imo.
Thanks for watching till the abrupt end! Yeah, I goofed on the editing for this one. I think there was only about a minute more of discussion. I’ll go back and check and if it’s worth adding, I might upload the rest separately.
For me, "The Package" is the weakest episode of season 6 (I still like it though). Maybe its "weakness" is enhanced by the fact that it is situated exactly between my two favorite season 6 episodes - "Ab Aeterno" (my #9 top favorite LOST episode) and "Happily Ever After" (my #5 top favorite LOST episode). There are still cool elements in it, for instance the charming flirtation between Sun and Jin in the flash-sideways, the "zombified" Sayid who tells that he cannot feel anything anymore, the tense confrontation between The Man in Black and Widmore, and of course, the last scene of the episode where we finally discover what "the package" actually is :).
I feel as though it might be more about starting to get impatient with the flash-sideways and just wanting to know what it's all about. Fortunately, we finally start gradually getting those answers in the next episode.
Were the moments when you cut your video into chapters chosen on purpose? because restarting the video at the time of the reaction then at the time of the post-episode discussion in a repetitive way was a fabulous moment of laughter for me. So thanks.😉
"The birth of separation of powers." Well, Zola, no... BUT still a great point - and a way of putting it - because there is a separation of powers that is inferred. But that doesn't get touched upon until the episode "Across the Sea."
Not sure how far ahead you are - but I always suggest to reactors to watch this fan-made video that was released 5/18/10 (obviously 5 days before the Series finale) before watching "The End". Gives the feels for the show and for the time period leading up to the finale. ruclips.net/video/iggE4ImYwyc/видео.html
pretty sure Korean women are allowed to have a bank account..even if they aren't running away..and if she was..she probably shouldn't give her father access to the funds..lol..
Jack and sun scene in the end always gets me, it really is a lovely one and a meaningfull one when you know what's coming.
I had a good laugh at Hassan's confidence in recapping Ab Aeterno, only to mistakenly call the Island the Mountain, and promptly give up. lol

The constant dunking on Ben is one of the best parts of Season 6. It never gets old, no matter how many times I re-watch.
It got old to me, because the show's other characters also deserved to be dunk on.

The calm episode before the boom!..Here we go.
The thing that hits me hard in this ep is Sayid. It's pitiful seeing him dead on the inside. Then when he says that! And MIB certainly didn't gaf.

There hasn't been a Die Hard movie in nine years. And Willis never had any plans to make another one.
Love the ending of this episode cause it sets up for my favorite episode of the season. Can't wait

Zola with the Desmond predictions! 🤯
I never liked Sun losing her ability to speak English however my mind was changed because of the point Audrey made which I never noticed myself

I think there's a direct correlation between Amount of Zoe in Episode and Badness of Episode. She's in this one a lot.
