Jeff Glor reports on how Tito Santana went from being a professional wrestler to a middle school teacher in suburban New Jersey, and how he remains a hero to kids.
Smart guy. He quit while he was ahead. That is why he is still alive, while most of his contemporaries have died due to various causes that wrestlers die from. Of the clips shown, Savage, Perfect, Warrior, Neidhart, etc. are dead.
He actually takes good care of himself. He had a very long career. He was not like the other wrestlers. He went to college and got his degree. He had multiple talents and had his priorities straight. Make money and take care of his family. A wrestler, commentator, teacher, and an actor among other things. Just an amazing man!!
This is a fantastic story! I loved Tito Santana as a kid! I was always glued to the tv whenever wrestling was on! I laugh about it now! Lol. Mr. Solis, thanks for everything! You’re an inspiration! ☮️🖖🏽
When I was a young Mexican kid it was Awesome to see someone like him in the ring. My mom had a crush on him too he was so handsome. Now that I'm an adult too I can see why. He will always be a legend to me.
That’s so cool I’ve been a big fan of his for so many years. He and Pedro morals is why I mostly watched wrestling back then. Love that he Pursued his passion for teaching 👍
Oh wow! I saw that there is a new movie coming out about the Von Erichs. It brought back a bunch of memories from my youth. I was glad I stumbled upon this one.
We used to imitate wrestlers in high school, when Santana was a top draw. For Santana it was "a tuakka ricaa crabaa ybba takka rakka nakka. ARRIBA!!!!"
01:27 Wait, how was he "discovered" by the WWF, when he was already a headliner in the AWA before joining McMahon's operation? He had a major feud with Jesse Ventura, who referred to him as "Chico Santana".
I believe WWF was his first run. Vince Sr saw potential in Santana. He had Santana go work in other areas to hone his skills and when Vince Sr thought he was ready to told Santana it was time to come home, as it were.
Great story and to know he's doing well when others in the WWE didn't. The irony is one wrestler he was in the ring with, George "The Animal" Steele, had a Masters and PH.D in education but the pay for teachers in Michigan (in the 1960s) was so low, he became a wrestler earning far more. (don't know if he ever went back to teaching.)

From Jobber to Teacher! Hahaha! He always Job to other wrestlers! He has wrestling skills but he cannot finish his job to defeat an opponents. He was either defeated by cattle prod, holding his trunks etc.
Id rather earn a little money with a winning reputation + champion! rather than earning a millions wearing a white trunks and boots with thunders and remember by many fans as jobber and a loser. Check his Facebook account. Chico just got 1 like per post!
Ever kid you taught remembers you. Gracias Senor Solis, thanks for the cool stories.

One of the most underrated WWE performers of all time!

He called him that in the wwf
Omg I love him!!
underrated performer; modern fans just don’t get it.

Lol.... my husband wrestled him in 2009, well got beat up by him!!
I did, and I'm not married to a guy, I thought I was on my wife's account.
Rick Cavazos sure buddy. Haha. Where did you wrestle him?
You sure need a woman to lay down with and wrestle with.
From Jobber to Teacher! Hahaha! He always Job to other wrestlers! He has wrestling skills but he cannot finish his job to defeat an opponents. He was either defeated by cattle prod, holding his trunks etc.
He wasn't a jobber. He was IC Champion twice and Tag Team Champion twice.
Yes he was a Champion! But his career will be remembered as a glorified jobber!
Kylo Run jobber that made millions
Id rather earn a little money with a winning reputation + champion! rather than earning a millions wearing a white trunks and boots with thunders and remember by many fans as jobber and a loser. Check his Facebook account. Chico just got 1 like per post!
