actually the mr snowman story is originated from the story of the kind prince. the kind prince was a statue and it has like gems for its eyes, scarfs and stuff like that. a bird landed on the statue and the statue ask for the bird help to gave away all it had to the poor ones and those in need. those help the statue gave to the village people made the village prosper. at the end, its glory look is gone and it became shabby. then the villagers and the king thought that it looks very ugly and unsuitable to represent the town thus they destroy the statue and build a new one. the bird was sad when the statue got destroyed because the statue helped the villagers so much... there was smtg abt the king but i forgot how it goes. its a childhood story so excuse my mistakes. hope u guys enjoyed :)
To continue, they destroyed the statue and the metal they got from it, they formed to make a statue of the king. The bird died/killed as well (idk if it was the latter). But when they got the metal after melting the statue of the prince, his lead heart didn't melt so they threw it. In the end, an angel came as he was commanded to bring God something righteous and the first thing the angel did was get the lead heart of the prince and the dead bird.

You can see that in the very first battle in that stage, there is a passage on the right side, which is pointed out by footsteps too. Interact with the dead merchant there, and you will get the holy grenade.
I unironically almost cried when the snowman gave me his coat and had me ask who the kindest person in the town was I'm sad I never got to thank the snowman
