Do you worry that the self adhering base will expand and contract at a faster or slower rate than the torch down?? Or what base and torch down brand are you using?

Sure it is. There are different brands. You are referring to Soprema's brand that is too soft to walk on while torching. Keep torching "over there"

I never had a problem with that. I think they both compliment each other in strength
