It was time for Erin to finally watch a Van Damme movie on the show, so loaded up Hard Target. Unending magazines, bizarre slow motion, and a mulletted JCVD make this quite a watch.

Credit where credit's due: regardless of a material, John Woo has a distinctive style and it's not just about doves, Beretta 92 guns and motorcycle stunts, even though all of that is in each of his movies. He has a near-intuitive understanding of what should be what in edit. I can guarantee, that the cut had that much slow motion because he needed a particular pacing and he got it.

Also, the scene where Lance Henriksen's coat catches on fire wasn't supposed to happen but he keep going and stayed in character. That's why the other actors in the scene are just standing there because they were caught off guard. His line "Go on you sons of bitches. This came out before the whole CSI explosion happened on tv. No one really thought about forensics way back then.
Of the bad Van Damage movies this is his best.

This movie is hilarious for the amount of bullets and spinkicks jcvd puts into each bad guy. Its on the same level as the naked gun at times.

That’s actually a clever idea to get around Jean-Claude’s accent.

I'm taking a break from watching MST3K's Turkey Day marathon today to watch a new SGIG episode.
I forgot Kasi Lemmons was in this. While she is known for her acting roles, she would also pursue a career in directing films like Eve's Bayou, Harriet and the upcoming Whitney Houston movie, I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

It has been years since I saw this movie and I'd forgotten so much of it. Far more nonsensical than I remembered, but also more fun. Must revisit the whole thing soon. All hail Jean-Claude Dagnabbit!

"A Better Tomorrow" and "The Killer" are groundbreaking gritty, crime action dramas that set a new standard and influenced/informed, I believe, the "bullet time" of the Matrix and all movies of its ilk (Wanted, TENET, Inception, etc.). Wu is the Martin Scorsese of his genre...a master.

Hey Jason. Big fan! I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this on here, but there are tons of videos going around exposing established titles as a scam. Lots of big RUclipsrs are dropping them. They are a Chinese based company and they do not make you am actual Lord or Lady. Their land is not recognized by Scotland. It's a money racket.
