I think if this game is gonna be around for years, they need to work the imagination and give us new duties and new challenges not just a different layout with the same duties, same with the star path
Aesthetically, it's gorgeous. Problem is, it lacks gameplay, materials and crafting. Not sure if Act 2 will bring more but we'll see what awaits. Gameloft really needs to work on giving us content that engages us for long term.
Storybook Vale feels like how "Home" is supposed to feel: cozy, comforting, and despite the glitches, I love it way more than Eternity Isle. If I could transfer my consciousness into the game and live there for real, I would do it in a heartbeat.
Eternity Isle is a pain to get around and the zones all look a like, I'm constantly looking at my map. Storybook Vale is just what I think of when I think of Disney. Though, I do think the gamma is a bit high in Mythopia, I find it a tad blinding during the day, otherwise the zones are all just beautiful and unique looking.
I prefer The Vale over Iternity Isles. The visuals are stunning and very appealing to the eyes. Love that you get different items in Scrooges's shop vs what you see in the Valley and Isle which share the same shop. The puzzles were an interesting addition, I wish we had more. When I completed Iternity Isles I stopped going there unless I needed resources. Verses I completed The Vale a week ago, yet I'm still visiting it daily if not staying there more than the Valley. I hope Dream Loft continues to create amazing additions, each better than the last.
oh gosh that going against the masses review is actually mine! really wish steam would let us do neutral reviews because it always feels like you hate something when you do a negative one but im mostly neutral about it. i think my main gripe is just the lack of story content for a dlc called "storybook vale", considering how involved the villagers are in the first dlc. merida literally has nothing to do once youre out of the tutorial area and i hope they give her something more in part 2. the quests we do get are great, literally made me laugh a few times, so just a few more would have pushed this dlc to a positive for me - like a random quest in each area once you unlock it type of deal. (outside of the one we get with the trial, just want to clarify since i know those pop up.) i actually ended up decorating a bit thanks to this dlc and that hasnt happened in a while :)
I love Storybook Vale, as it brought us new beautiful biomes, loads of new trees and stuff we can use to decorate everywhere, and I really love the flowers and the floating bubbles. That alone to me made it worth the money. Hades and Maleficent would have been worth the money alone too! As for functionality, I feel that Eternity Isle brought us a lot more, with the ancient machines, which also made time bending an ongoing task that is worth to do. EI also brought us the glowing flowers, which I see used all the time in Dreamsnaps. So I feel they each brought their own things, in different ways. Both DLCs were worth it to me, and I will definitely buy the next DLC too ❤ Yes, there are bugs, but they usually fix the most game breaking ones pretty quickly, so it doesn't bother me too much. Do I wish there were no bugs? Yes! But it's a live service game. There will be bugs. A little patience goes a long way :) My biggest complaint would be, that I can't time bend in the Vale, and I can't place the snippet lures in my Valley (anymore). They shouldn't limit the gameplay like that, but that's about the only real issue I see. Of course, they could have done more and done some things better, but no matter what, they'll never be able to please everyone. I truly love both DLCs, and can't wait to see what they'll bring us next year.
Just over 4 days of grinding; what a joke. Definitely will wait for a big discount sale. The whole game has changed into a photo decorating app. Quests are a joke; everyhting is a go fetch quest.
If they ever fix the myriad of bugs, I would say it might be better than Eternity Isle. It really depends on the 2nd half of the expansion for a final rating.
imo storybook vale is my preferred DLC comparing to the other one. the items, excellent. and somehow unlocking and crafting the items is not so hard. how furniture is trapped in the timetable throws me off... i forget theyre there, and theyre so difficult to obtain ehh,.... and the craftables added to the workbench are so terribly random. everything in storybook is gorgeous, on topic, etc. and the lighting?? superior to time warp too. i do hope they end up adding more puzzles for us to complete and unlock and thus more new furnitures. it must since the time zone had 3 acts.
I wonder if people prefer this new DLC over the RIT DLC because it's new and brought new scenery and things to do. Do you all think if SBV was released first and then RIT as the 2nd DLC that people would have still preferred RIT more? Me myself, I definitely enjoy the storyline better in SBV, but it seems there was more to do in RIT. We also got continuous updates, versus having to wait with this loooong gap!
I like the storyline in Storybook Vale more than a Rift in Time. However, overall I prefer a Rift in Time. The ancient machines have been a game changer across the base and dlc games. If you can only get one get a Rift in Time.
I like the beauty of SV, the background music, and the way the spaces are bigger. With that said, I think there is more to Eternity Isle as far as different types of spaces , more to the storyline, and more things to collect and make. Just my opinion.
I loved this DLC except, i did all the content (quests, cooking, side quests etc) in few days. So, no reason to catch snippets or to grind indgredients anymore. A bit sad about that but cant blame anyone but myself really 😅
Idk i still haven't gotten super into my storybook vale yet because of life but tbh I have been getting less interested in this game as a whole, which sucks cause I do really like it I haven't bought 1 thing really from the shop in a couple weeks at first I was like awe man I missed it but after I was like meh... I hope they add more mini games or do something to keep us engaged more....
2:16 Ok, I have to argue against that point in particular. Objectively speaking, the puzzles are extremely one-note. You complete the puzzle once, and then you’re done. If you repeat it, it’s the exact same puzzle you’ve already solved. Compare that to Scramblecoin where the board and coin placements are different every match. There’s just no comparison.
I have loved both expansions, they're so different and offer different things. Like, one of the best things Eternity Isle gave us was the ancient machines which I continue to use everywhere. I'm kinda sad that we won't have any more adventures there. I don't see why we couldn't unlock Aladdin there later on. Storybook Vale is absolutely beautiful and whimsical and I love everything about it really. Even the moonwalk bugs were kinda funny 😂 I hope we get plenty more adventures there, as I feel like it would be a waste of the beautiful biomes not to use them more in the future.
This dlc is fantastic. The bugs didn't bother me as I knew they would get fixed easily. My only complaint is actually something different. I kind wish mythopia grass and leaves on trees were more lime green to match the movie as opposed to being all too yellow. I think firey plains is the best mixture example they should of went with. On everafter side, I think the trees or grass should of been more evergreen color. It was too blueish green. When I saw the tree color variants on floating islands, I'm hopeful they will be brought over as tree options so I can use thoses for SBV.
im curious, if i didn't own any dlc if players fave gifts would only include base game items- bc i bought base game as well as both dlc simultaneously for new ps5- christmas present to myself. plus im playing starpath and its ALOT to unock all at once... sometimes some char fave gifts i need for starpath duties are locked behind biomes i cant unlock yet.
My main complaint is I have 3 biomes unlocked and all the forgables, fish and snippets already. There isn't that same need to progress that the main game or rift in time had. While story book vale has cool items there aren't that many useful items like the ancient machines. I find myself not wanting to progress because I don't see anything to work towards
I love the game and have been playing it since the beginning. I enjoyed both dlcs and think they are worth it. Still not everyone likes the same things. This is the type of game I like to play and I'm thoroughly addicted.
It did seem like Eternity Island had more to do but I still like Storybook Vale better. It's so cozy and I just love the whole vibe. I really like the puzzles (though very easy) but I like Scramblecoin better just because it's more challenging
Whenever I go into Eternity Isle, I get a headache from the scenery. Not because each of the 3 lands are bad, but mashing them together does not make sense. I wish they would’ve mashed the Glittering Dunes and Mythopia for Eternity Isle, and mashed the Wild Tangle and Everafter for Storybook Vale. It would make way more sense with the quests, characters, scenery and extras.
kinda forgot that all those rewards from the puzzles have to be crafted to get more. now i got a lot of some of the resources will have to look into making more of some of them it'd be nice if they gave us a portal in scrooge's that we can use to go right to the other stores without having to leave, enter, look, go to next area, leave, enter, look. just stay in the shop and use the portal to go to the valley, EI or SBV. put it in the corner by the vault door. or as the vault door it's pretty fast for PC users to traverse all those loading screens but on consoles it takes a good few minutes to load in, load out, move to the next area and repeat. a quick one step jump though still taking a few minutes would at least cut the over all time by maybe 1/4 or more
First I want to say I love the game and Storybook Vale is good. I like the new characters they brought. The thing I'm disappointed in is Scrooge's shop, I thought they were going to bring better things and it really is just the same things recycled into Storybook Vale. Some of the dresses are just formless and they should have a way that if you buy one color you can get all the colors. Paying $8000 for one color then another $8000 for another and another is kind of ridiculous. I guess maybe it's just me. They could have better choices for everything. The sizes of the L couches are kind of big for the sizes of the rooms so, at least I have a hard time getting around them. Just for the record I am an older woman who is not as good at gaming as I used to be. That said I mostly play games that I have a physical game cartridge? and have never had any glitches I a game even all the way to Atari games 😂. But I absolutely love Dreamlight Valley and Eternity Isle and Storybook Vale I'm looking forward to the 2nd part and I can't wait for Cinderella if they bring her.
My invertory keeps freezing to were I have to save an restart the game to even use it this is the whole game that’s they only thing I have against it but everything else works for some reason like clothes an furniture is fine
So many great things that overshadowed any bugs/glitches that might have happened. Its a recommendation for me and personally I feel a well needed update to the game and just another reason to love DDV
I have played many many games and only this one and the last of us 2 were just completely buggy and unable to play. I should of bought mine on the PlayStation
The roll out really soured the game for me and just haven’t found the energy to play.. especially since I still crash.. I got the DLC and haven’t even gone into the new realm. Just gonna take a long break.
I can’t even go fishing with the Xmas cause a big and glitch on switch and glitches when I moving stuff around and cam is moving my area fair away and going to the duck store take so long to load the game and out and other areas and collecting items stop me from picking up stuff and my person out of no where stop me from doing anything and no it’s still not fix been dealing still when it came out and still doing it I didn’t even get my Xmas fishing done cause it was hardly showing at all so ya this is why I stop playing for almost 3 years
Serroh you didn’t call out this person, they played the DLC all the way to Maleficent and NOW complaining? It’s like eating a burger and then complaining that you didn’t like it. Get out of here! Also the Nov 29 post started great. Then all the typos. AI much?
The game is bad compared to what it started at as in early access, it just a big scammed now costing manh people 100s of bucks on moonstones and the dlc is way over priced
I love Storybook Vale big map but I wish they had a frozen part on all the maps and I wish we can get a house for Mother Goth and Elsa and have the opinion to put villagers water houses on land.... But I wish Storybook Vale gave us the option to buy new and old stuff from Scrooge McDuck catalog because it's not right we are still dealing with Scrooge McDuck shop issues....
I think if this game is gonna be around for years, they need to work the imagination and give us new duties and new challenges not just a different layout with the same duties, same with the star path

My game is so laggy and buggy ever since storybook vale was released
Same here. Often unplayable

I loved it so much at the start but now I'm back to hanging out in the main valley again as the dreamsnap themes are all around Christmas theme
Just over 4 days of grinding; what a joke. Definitely will wait for a big discount sale. The whole game has changed into a photo decorating app. Quests are a joke; everyhting is a go fetch quest.
Quests quality has definitely gone down.
If they ever fix the myriad of bugs, I would say it might be better than Eternity Isle. It really depends on the 2nd half of the expansion for a final rating.
I've been personally enjoying it so far
imo storybook vale is my preferred DLC comparing to the other one. the items, excellent. and somehow unlocking and crafting the items is not so hard. how furniture is trapped in the timetable throws me off... i forget theyre there, and theyre so difficult to obtain ehh,.... and the craftables added to the workbench are so terribly random. everything in storybook is gorgeous, on topic, etc. and the lighting?? superior to time warp too.

YES this. The game is inherently grind-y but the ancient machines pay for themselves in terms of quality of life in-game

Well I done it all, and I can't really say I have played on it at all after all the missions, I find it glitchy I think I prefer the rift I must say.😊
Idk i still haven't gotten super into my storybook vale yet because of life but tbh I have been getting less interested in this game as a whole, which sucks cause I do really like it I haven't bought 1 thing really from the shop in a couple weeks at first I was like awe man I missed it but after I was like meh... The ancient machines are clutch for quality of life in the game
Regardless if the DLC experience was good or not, at least it will give people more hope about what's the next DLC going to look or be like.

I really enjoy the way the whole is coming together I wish more games would take the time to do the same.

Games has Hamad bugs since the nes, bugs are part of true gaming
I like it but don't like that basically 70% of the map is autumn.. Would have loved more green in Mythopia.
I think aesthetically it’s the best island. I did find that getting the StoryBook Magic was too grindy. But overall I have really enjoyed it

I don’t know if it was the best but I definitely enjoy it!
Yes It's The Best 👌
You should have read more negative reviews. This video was a little one sided lol
There's really not many negative reviews and the ones that there were are just repeating the same thing about the bugs that are already fixed.
The game is bad compared to what it started at as in early access, it just a big scammed now costing manh people 100s of bucks on moonstones and the dlc is way over priced
