About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. Absolutely love you people, so down to earth and you have a good sense of humor to go with it, another great video with tons of insight and knowledge. Yep my daily routine starts with putting out the solar lights to charge up to give me light at night followed by the "Normal functions" then coffee and check in on RUclips and E-mails also that facebook page" but to answer your question : Yes In my younger years I toured and lived out of a small car/van and enjoyed it pretty much, anyways Best wishes from the UK stay safe , Healthy and Happy. 👌

even with the best solar system on your camper, you will need to charge your bank with alternat power. IE from a generator or car. What i hate are the group of city campers that pull into camp and park right next to you. Like FFS there is 50,000 bloody acers of bush and dessert around you and they need to bloody park right next to you. Then they pull out there eBay generator with no DB rating at all and run the F.ing thing till midnight.
And that is why my wife will not let me take my Shotgun camping.
😂😂😂 yep those that run the genorator at stupid times really are annoying!

We compromise and do it my way LOL
Traveling is hard work, we did it with two kids and that adds extra challenges but at the end you are always glad you did it no matter how much work you had to do.

I recommend getting a high amperage 12v charger for your MacBook. If you have the newer macs that can be charged via the thunderbolt port get one of those in 12v as it’s great for charging all things that use usb c super fast (drones, phones, cameras) or can just get the MagSafe 12v charger. Much more efficient on the battery not having to use the inverter and also much better on the MacBook than using the sign-wave inverters output through an AC charger. You’ll be able to edit for longer

Please don’t let a moment of it pass by and not realise how special it is to have the opportunity to do what your doing. As you might recall, I mentioned in a comment before that we took 7 years on our 2nd lap and after a while we kind of took it for granted as I kind of thought it would never end BUT I became unwell and eventually we were forced off the road. After the last couple of years living back in a house (boring) I’m busting my breaches to get back onto the road but health issues are plaguing me no end. At night now, instead of drifting off inside the roof of the Troopy I’m reminiscing about days gone by worried that I won’t get well enough to travel again. ☹️
Cherish every moment of this together as you never know when you might be forced to stop. 😞

Have you got a maintenance routine for Troop? I use to have a $2 tarp that I threw down and rolled myself under the old girl and spend a few minutes both under the vehicle and a few other minutes with my head in the engine bay. It’s always good to be looking at stuff constantly, that way you hopefully pick up on any issues early, before they get expensive.

We are incredibly grateful for the life we are living and always remind ourselves how lucky we are! like you mentioned we do forget and sometime take it for granted.
In regards to the maintenance routine to be honest not really the 1hz is so reliable it has not had any problems at all. Apart from changing the engine oil, oil filter, fuels filters, air filter every 10,000kms we have not had to touch or replace anything! I changed the timing belt at 250,000kms and did the front and rear wheel bearings and front hub seals at around 295,000km as well as the fan belts. so the next major service will be to re grease all the bearings. change the transmission oils and diff oils. I do check the car every day for loose nuts/bolts ect.

You are in Gods own country there in the Atherton table lands my friends... it is one of the most beautiful areas of Australia and definitely the most beautiful QLD has to offer.... I remember camping at Lake Tinaroo back in the 80's . Nothing compares to it... Dont know if they are still there but there used to be fresh water crocs in the waters of the lake...
Your right mate it really is a beautiful place! We will be heading back every chance we get. I’d say freshies definitely live in the dam.

Hey guys great video, with the laptop do you have a car 12v charger for it, allows you to charge whit you drive and will not put demand on the battries.
No we don’t we’ve never actually looked into it. I heard mixed reviews that using a 12v charger could wreck the laptop battery? We have upgraded our battery setup now so having no dramas now megans loving it 😂 Thanks for watching 😊

In regards to the Mack book. It’s a weapon would definitely recommend a MacBook Pro ours is a 2021 model from memory and it makes our life so much easier if the bank account allows for it would definitely recommend going with the largest internal storage Apple offer.

just in case you decided to do it ... daintree crossing was easy if you arc down near the island, track has been bulldozed so it is very easy now, less than 2 hours to the gravel road at Yindilli Campground its 2wd from there on, great camp at Roaring Meg Falls but dunny is out of commission.

Can definitely be a struggle at times, it really helps talking it all out though. It’s called platypus campground and can be booked through the Queensland parks website 😊
