Awesome! I was able to get my remote door opener programmed to my 1993 Genie door after about 3 tries. I had the 12 dip switch numbers turned around. Thanks so much for your step-by-step instructions!

Easy Peasy... once I figured it all out! 😂 The key is knowing EXACTLY the type of garage door opener that you have. New owner, so there was no instruction manual, no old remote, nothing! I have a Liftmaster, but the thing that really helped me was realizing that I have an older model with a control panel on the wall inside the garage. The learn (program) button is there!
This video is misleading. 7:05 Nowhere in the instructions does it mention a white light, but on this video it does. When I gave up on trying to figure it out, I called Genie Customer Service, in which a nice lady answered and I told her my issue of not being able to pair my remote, in which she told me that these remotes under normal programming procedure should NEVER turn on a white light, in which the instrucctions never mention a white light anyways.
There is a Liftmaster community gate at my apartment complex I am trying to program and I don't know how since there's no "learn" button for it. My car's homelink copied my original remote and opens it but I don't see anything in the manual about gates. The original remote has dip switches but Liftmaster does not show on the "teach and pair" list.
Will this remote work on an eagle gate opener with 8 dip switches? If so, how do i go about programming it? I didn't see anything for it the instructions. Thanks.

Tried complicated procedures repeatedly on Liftmaster operators with yellow and purple learn LEDs. After failing multiple times, I noticed button 2 I was using when programming the opener with purple LED worked on the operator with the Yellow program light. The instructions for this "universal" remotes are long, convoluted, and wrong.
Love the video. But anyone have the problem where the garage chain just jerks but doesnt fully extend over and over during programming mode (Chamberlain-Purple button)??

Typically low range is a result of radio frequency interference, ensure your antenna wire is hanging down and not tucked in the light cover, and if you are using non-Genie LED or CFL bulbs remove them and try again

I solved that issue by splicing a wire from the antenna to the frame of the garage door essentially turning the whole thing into an antenna. Might work for you but I can use this remote from at lease 25ft away from the garage door now.
Could you please try a little harder to make a more frustrating and difficult process AND then make the speed of the instructions on the video just slightly too fast for people to actually follow along? Please.

Most households have more than one vehicle… so how do I program the second remote to work? Are we supposed to share one for the whole family?
You would go through the same steps for each remote, you just do not go through the clearing process of the memory.

I watch this video over 100 times still cannot get it programmed neither one of my garage doors.
Whole time is also two hours and a half to reach a tech this is ridiculous
The fourth button just shows a solid white LED and nothing else.
I gave up and threw away upset. Didn't save the box and couldn't get a return. Neither paper nor video instructions worked. Ridiculous!!
