A friend of mine asked me to change her bulb for her. After looking at your video, I’m going to tell her to take it to the mechanic because I already know it will irritate the hell out of me. It’s a damn shame that you can’t go under the hood like every other car out there. Thanks for your demonstration, you did a good job. I will pass this on to others who have the patience to do it themselves.
Literally did mine in 10 minutes. Scratched my arms up pretty good and I dropped about 30 f-bombs. Worth saving the price of paying someone else to do it.
heyy thank you so much for commenting, we really appreciate your words and are happy we were able to help you with our video! thanks for watching! don't forget to hit that like and subscribe button for us.
Thank you for doing this without having to remove the entire front end lol idk how many videos I got to before yours that were doing that. Changing headlights should not be this complicated! Lol 😂
I watched and use this video yesterday. I it was a excellent step by step tutorial. I have this exact vehicle year, make, and model. Thank you..!!! I ironically bought the exact same bulb before I found your video as well go figure.
Nice job on the vid & instructions. I watched a different one in which the guy took the wheel off (though he said you didn't need too), then removed the wheel-well ABS to get to the socket. I said, "BS on that!"...I'm lookin for a different vid. And viola! I found yours. Thx!
Thanks. I watched and saved myself a ton of time. The only hang up was one of the new bulbs had an extra gasket on it ant it took several tries before I discovered that. Once I took that off it went right in!
I will be uploading my video tonight. Finally got to it. I must say I’m impressed that you got those camera angles with the wheel on. I took my wheel of for filming purposes.
😅thank you!! Knew where to go to get there, but wasn't sure how I was going to attempt that. 65yr.old woman with some cowboy logic(my dad used to say) and now I'm getting used to reaching out to my helpers on you tube!!! Felt like you were supposed to be just there for me!! Have a great day and be safe! T. from Iowa
Thank you so much! Just had a neighbor help me (old and out of shape so the 2 7mm ones would have been hard) and was able to replace. A friend of mine with 2014 says his he can just reach under and pull the cap without having to pull the fender skirt, so it may depend on what model. Mine is 2015 LS awd. I had all tools ready and it didn't take long at all thanks to his video.
Wow man my lady need that replacement in her equinox and I didn't know how change them wow this video helped me for when I replace her lights for free before she goes to a mechanic. thanks 😀😀
Thanks ; I just now changed my aunt's headlight bulb. Having a Snap-On electric rachet doesn't hurt. Took about 30 minutes because I had already took the air cleaner off.
Excellent photography! And thanks, because thanks to your video I was able to change the headlight bulb in my, VERY stupidly engineered, 2017 Chevy Equinox... You forgot to mention 2 things though. When screwing the big black cap on over the light bulb? It has the four tabs that slide in before you can tighten it, right? Well, two of the tabs are just a tad smaller (or larger) than the other two tabs. So technically it can only go in one way. That explains why you said it was "tricky," lol. The other thing is when putting the two 7mm bolts back in the bottom. The piece of fender liner that they screw into doesn't snap in first or anything. It just flops around as you try and push the bolts in, EVEN if you've put the clips and T-20 screw back in already. So you have to try and hold it down and line up the holes while you try and start screwing them in. Needless to say, that part is a bit "tricky" as well. But it's not as bad as it seems. However, if you're worried it might be, just imagine doing it with your neck frozen with your head tilted as far forward as it can be and leaning to the left as much as it can be so that you look like you're permanently holding a phone between your left shoulder and the left side of your head. So it could be worse.
Great video. Taking those bottom 2 screws off opened it up. Maybe mark with paint pen for cap orientation for quicker assembly. Turn wheel in and you can just use drivers and loosen.
Dude. What to thank you so very much for the video! After watching some of the others, those guys are idiots! Taking the whole front of the car off was not necessary…. Your way of going under the wheel well was so much more easier and efficient! Thanks again for you visual help!!
Really really really appreciate this video because I frustrated myself so much trying to figure it out by myself and this was the first video that popped up so thank you so much
Thank you!!! I was told that I’d need to remove the bumper to change the headlight. My novice behind had it off and on in no time….without having to remove the bumper. Go figure. Thanks again!!
Any advice when the dust cap is stuck? I spent half an hour trying to twist it back and forth. It moved maybe a quarter-inch and my arm is raw from rubbing against that access hatch. Thanks.
Much easier way to get to your blown bulb. Just remove the cap located in fender well by removing one screw and turningit to the left, then remove the black cup under the cap turning it to the left, then you can just pull the bulb using a slight left turn. Replace bulb and replace black cup, then the twist cap right and reinstall one screw. Takes 10 minutes top.
Thanks so much for the video, although I’m highly annoyed at how difficult they have made it to do self car maintenance. The same way the back wiper blade cover is impossible to get off without breaking. But if you don’t put it back the back blade will flop all other the place.
Well the 2014 has an access cap by the inside tires that you unscrew then remove the cap from the light bulb replace it then add cap to keep moisture and water out then screw the nut back in…and done
Our 2014 Equinox 2LT does not have an access port. You can remove some clips and screws from the fender well to pull it back enough to gain access to change the low and high beams out. Challenging but an easier process, IMHO.
Thanks for the video. I now have a new question to ask the salesman when purchasing my next car. This is clearly what happens when you let engineers go unchecked in their designs .
My 2012 has a small removable panel just behind the headlight in the wheel well so I didn't have to take the entire wheel well guard out. Looking back on your vehicle I do not see that same opening. But it looks like a newer vehicles that have fixed this... Refer to this video for the cover. ruclips.net/video/NskFs3lBWCs/видео.html
@@HidalgoMotorsCo yes we did. We had to brake the cap of with a oil filter wrench. And had to brake it because the people before us put adhesive on it to make it stay.
@@Pixie_stixx_ wow... people.. always trying to take the easy way out. Haha well I am happy you were able to fix it and I am glad our video influenced you! Thanks for watching - don't forget to give your boy a like and subscribe to support the channel! :)
These are automakers make it so difficult to replace a stupid freaking headlight bulb. I had a Subaru that was the exact same thing you had to take the fender well out, and he had to reach up, and so damn far, my arms were yoo short yo reach.
I should've watched this video BEFORE I started working on it! Because, why would you be able to remove the 3 screws and remove the lamp to access the light bulb? That would just be stupid. Of course you should have to remove the fender skirt and crawl up under the wheel well to reach all up in a weird position to access a simple light bulb, WTF Chevy? But seriously, thanks for the video, it was very helpful. But F U Chevy for making it that way!
LEDs are not nearly as reliable. And often they don't fit in the housings the factory uses. You are always better off replacing the bulb with factory equipment.

Lonnie, for real it's as easy as it looks on this video. 👌🏾
I agree. It looks easy, but going under the hood probably would of been easier.
Useless ninja.
Literally did mine in 10 minutes. Scratched my arms up pretty good and I dropped about 30 f-bombs. Worth saving the price of paying someone else to do it.
I did it is really easy, and i love working with cars 😊
Very good video! I used it to change my bulb in my 2015 Equinox. Worked exactly as in the video . Good to find something that really works!
Thanks

thank you. This helped a lot. I didn’t have to go though hours of Grief just to get to the headlight
Agree I had a trail blazer had to remove bow tie then the grill . These makers scare me
The 2011 model, maybe others, has an access cap that doesn’t require removing the whole panel. The access cap only requires the removal of one screw.
Yes, my 2013 has that as well. Praise the Lord.
My 2014 too, way easier than this
I have the 2014 LTZ awd with v6 it came with no access panel :(
My 2010 even had one
Mine to. 2013 4 cylinder does. Not sure but v6 may not have the little access port holes.
Thank you for doing this without having to remove the entire front end lol idk how many videos I got to before yours that were doing that. Changing headlights should not be this complicated! Lol 😂
Thank you for the step-by-step explanation. This worked perfectly on my 2014 Equinox and I have little car repair skills!
I watched and use this video yesterday. I it was a excellent step by step tutorial. I have this exact vehicle year, make, and model. Thank you..!!! I ironically bought the exact same bulb before I found your video as well go figure.

Thank you so much. It really helped my friend and I .We just replaced ours 😊
I just did one. And this video made it much easier.thank you 😇
Leave it to chevy To make it complicated to change a lightbulb
Everyone is these days.
The clips gave me trouble but it was easy enough, thanks!
Changed the bulbs on my 15 Equinox in the same fashion, getting that cap back on was the hardest part
Good presentation

Cap lands with GM logo right side up. Start with GM logo at about 10 o'clock and turn to the right to lock it in.
Thank you kindly, this helps, I’m going to change mine now.

Chevrolet just told me the same thing over the phone
Wow GM... Thanks
I was gonna do both lights... But I'll wait for the other one to burn out
This video helped a lot thank you!
I want to thank you for I need to replace my headlight bulbs
Very helpful. My 2016 is this way
Thank you so much I going to try to do by myself.
What about the access panel in the wheel well ?????
Any advice when the dust cap is stuck? I spent half an hour trying to twist it back and forth. It moved maybe a quarter-inch and my arm is raw from rubbing against that access hatch. Thanks.
Thank you so much brother!
Glad I took a look, I thought the bumper mask had to be removed like the mid 2000's Malibu.
Great video fixed my light in a flash
Ty for this video. Had to use my crescent for the 7mm. What a pain in ass.
Thanks for sharing
thanks... for yuo help
Save me a lot of time. Thanks 👍

Oh yeah… that never occurred to me lol 😂 mine did not have the easy access…
Depends on year or model, my 2015 doesn't have that wheel well access port that just requires removing one T20 torx screw and spin the dust cap.
Thank you.
Thanks so much for the video, although I’m highly annoyed at how difficult they have made it to do self car maintenance. The same way the back wiper blade cover is impossible to get off without breaking. But if you don’t put it back the back blade will flop all other the place.
Gives u more space to work by cutting the wheel the other way
that is true sir. thank you so much for that comment. for anyone else reading, here is a good tip. ! don't forget to like and subscribe please.
Great video, but I had hell putting that cap back on
Well the 2014 has an access cap by the inside tires that you unscrew then remove the cap from the light bulb replace it then add cap to keep moisture and water out then screw the nut back in…and done
Does all the lights work like this turn signal, high beam
Thank you helped me out!
Yessss this is the only way
Got it done, thanks!
I did, thank you.
I will try this this weekend. I'm really dislike these engineers who are designing this crap.
Great video!!!!
my 2010 had a circular hatch in the wheel well with one t20 screw. seems like that all should of had that
If you look at the fender well you can see a round cut out with 1 screw. Remove that and you have access
F#$% it indeed! Excellent video and camera work! Saved me a lot of cussing and frustration. Good job!
Bro thanks, I was about to change it in less then 10 mins, going to subscribe
Is it the same for the drivers side?
Exelent video man so helpful 👏
Thank you very much
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, you saved me 200 bucks, the dealership will try to rob you if you let them
Thank u
Of course my 2014 equinox don’t have one😖
Awesome video with all the right camera views! It made it super easy.
Don’t forget the plastic tab under each wheel well!! I still can’t mine loose to complete the job 😫
2014 model takes these exact same steps!
Thanks for letting us know. Believe me I tried finding the simple solutions some folks are mentioning… didn’t have it here on mine
You're missing the blue gasket on the cap.
Thank you for sharing this video really appreciated.
My 2012 has a small removable panel just behind the headlight in the wheel well so I didn't have to take the entire wheel well guard out. Looking back on your vehicle I do not see that same opening. But it looks like a newer vehicles that have fixed this... Refer to this video for the cover.

What about the high beam?
Would this work on a trax?
How do I change the high beam bulbs?
The hardest part is putting dat damn cap back on
Mann this the most inconvenience bullshit way to change a headlight smh im not going thru all that ima just pay somebody to do it smh
What about to replace the blinker
Usually you just need to top up the blinker fluid. Check that before you pull the car apart to replace the bulb unnecessarily.
When I did it the light cap wouldn't twist off
Hey they can be very hard to remove and the space is kind of tight - I don’t blame ya… were you able to get it fixed?
@@HidalgoMotorsCo yes we did. We had to brake the cap of with a oil filter wrench. And had to brake it because the people before us put adhesive on it to make it stay.

WTF, Chevrolet?!
Pretty soon you will need to remove the engine to change the bulb
What about the high beam? I cannot find a single video on the internet on how to replace the bulb.
Literally right next to the low beams
These are automakers make it so difficult to replace a stupid freaking headlight bulb. I had a Subaru that was the exact same thing you had to take the fender well out, and he had to reach up, and so damn far, my arms were yoo short yo reach.
Just use the little access door in the same wheel well liner instead of taking out liner.
What access door?
I have a round access door in the wheel well that spins out in my 2011 equinox. It might not be present in all years.
Why does the 2014 not have the round cover. Theres other videos showing it. Chevy messed up again
GM said screw the customer, we're saving 5 cents here.
All of tht for a bulb
I should've watched this video BEFORE I started working on it! Because, why would you be able to remove the 3 screws and remove the lamp to access the light bulb? That would just be stupid. Of course you should have to remove the fender skirt and crawl up under the wheel well to reach all up in a weird position to access a simple light bulb, WTF Chevy?
But seriously, thanks for the video, it was very helpful. But F U Chevy for making it that way!
Why oh why would Chevy make you go through this simply to change a headlamp!!? So Dumb!!!
Just why, GM?
Turn your wheel the other way
closest goodyear is having me pay 75 dollars for this. like what the actual fuck
Well I am glad we are able to save you $75 or show you what you’re paying $75 for haha 😂 either way thanks for watching :)
Instead of installing leds you put halogens back
Whats the difference
LEDs are not nearly as reliable. And often they don't fit in the housings the factory uses. You are always better off replacing the bulb with factory equipment.
I added LED's. What a difference!
Not for 2011 chevy equinox
lmao it took you longer to put it back together!
lol sometimes it be like that. haha
You don’t use grease? Why?
