That autozone worker was just after getting into it with you cause autozone workers are NOT supposed to replace any parts on any vehicle Besides windshield wipers because the customer can then claim the autozone worker has damaged their vehicles

Other than needing to remove the entire mud guard from the wheel well to gain access (the 2016 LS doesn't have that nifty access port), I can confirm this tutorial is spot on.

Thanks, I don't know why so many take off the whole front bumper.. the first video I saw was a similar Access point but no tools needed.. I went to take mine off and it's the same as the one in the video and I tried turning it. I wondered why it didn't turn. So I'm glad I only tried turning it a couple times and decided to wait a little then found your video before trying again. One thing I wanted to note that I haven't heard anyone say on these how to videos is DO NOT touch your new HID light With bare hands as the oil from your hands can ruin your new bulb. Thanks for the video!

Your best bet do you don’t have to remove the bumper is probably to remove the fender liner

It's basically a 10 minute job, maybe double if you want to take pics of how things align since you're basically working blind. Nothing was difficult to remove or replace though so it's probably not necessary.
    Some things to note:
I struggled for like 15 minutes because I didn't notice that the old bulb's oring had dislodged and was stuck in the bulb well.
Also, turning your steering towards the side you are working on will help give you more space to work with.

My 2016 Equinox LT doesn’t have these removable covers on the fender liner. I have to remove the screws and plastic retaining bits that fasten the liner to the fender. Only by doing that and removing the plastic cap can I replace the bulbs. I think I’m going to replace my stock halogens for LEDs so I won’t have to replace them because replacing any bulb in the headlight assembly is such a chore as I found out by replacing just the marker lights with LEDs this afternoon.
