You are a great fisherman and you know what you are doing… you may not have had the opportunity if you weren’t throwing light line. I use 8# fluoro all of the time with Senko’s, Ned and drop shot in lakes and the delta.
I don’t fish tournaments, so I just want bites. Your a pro! No one that fishes the delta can be critical. You catch fish! Your videos are awesome too!
Great job! I have spent good money using some of the stuff you recommend, including your new swim jig you were throwing at the delta a couple of months ago.
Keep up the great work and I can’t wait for the next video .

I throw 8 to 10 lb on my dropshot with 20lb braid. That is my normal everywhere.

It’s light for the Delta but if you know how to use your drag and work the fish into the boat your 💴. I drop shot or ned rig a majority of the time. A lot on anglers scoff at it but I’m newer to Bass fishing and just want to catch fish. From my understanding a lot of dudes win tournament on the drop or senko anyway. Tight lines and keep the good videos coming.

Man.. I’d have to do at least 8 myself. Might get big mama on , never know, wouldn’t want to risk it, but I’m not tourney fishing either so lol

I drop shot 90% of the time out there on the delta in any conditions. I never liked using heavy applications for it even though I know it probably works better. My setup is a Lews carbon fire 6’9” medium light action paired with the Lews Carbon Fire size 2000 spinning reel. I used to run straight 6 pound test FC sniper flouro but decided to switch up to sufix 15 pound braid with a 7 pound fc sniper leader. As a bank angler, fishing pressure is everywhere plus tournament guys running the banks as well haha. I have fished behind boat guys with my light drop shot setup and caught fish they have missed. So far my biggest bass on the drop shot is 4 pounds and 2 ounces. It’s true what you said, sometimes you gotta risk it to catch a few more fish 😂

No guts no glory. 6lb test on the delta during a tournament, that takes guts. Good job.

there is always to things I look for that will always determine what size fluoro I should use; clarity of water and structure that I will be fishing in 8# fluoro is what I use 85 % of the time. I think its the all round cowboy size.

When Nick texts you and says he broke off a 6, he probably was being humble and broke off a 7 :)
    Great video!!!

    It definitely makes a difference!
I'm from England, freshwater fishing, so I'm coming from ultralight setups!
For the Delta I probably would use eight pound though!

I appreciate you and your brother sharing these videos! As to your question. It would be nice if you could team up with somebody who throws heavier line with confidence. It would be interesting to see the results!😉

Goo job Nick. I’ve been using 6 lb flourocarbon drop shot at Berryessa and Clear Lake up to three pounders. Haven’t tried Delta because there are too many snags in the water. 8 lb PLine would be my low limit.

I think it was a great video. I personally cannot use anything under 12 for the delta really I would snap off to much. I think using 6 pound would get u more bites for sure tho. The delta water is very clear this year!

I use 6 on my drop shot setup. Your okay if you play em out and keep away from hard cover. You’re definitely taking A chance if you hook A 4 lbs or bigger fish.

Good stuff! Drop shot is money on the dirty D. my favorite finesse bait to throw.. I’m not patient with senko so yep I’m a drop shot fool.. 6lb was getting you more bites.. I rock 8-12lb on flipping stick.. but now considering scaling down to spinning n lighter line! What was ur final weight?
