I have this machine. I would say. They work very well at keeping tools very sharp at their original factory grinds. However re-profiling takes ages. To this end I use a pro edge for re-profiling or my slow speed grinder with TK jig, and just touch up during turning using the water wheel.
the fact that it makes a hollow edge is not mentionned here. Hollow edge is something you do not want on your wood carving gouges as far as i know. it reduces their ability to hold the edge and makes them harder to control. A straight edge is better for control.
Not good for carving gouges, the bevel must be convex, and shharoening on a wheel, give a concave bevel, with a concave bevel, carving gouges are useless
Best instruction video I have seen, and I bern looking at many.
Jeff your instructions are so clear. Well done 👍🏻 from Downunder Australia 🇦🇺
Great video and very well explained... Subscribed. Cheers Paul in the UK
Great video, very clear and easy to follow.
Thanks, Ryan!
This is a superb video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Please do a video on axe regrinding!
great video, explains better than the instructions that come with the tool.
I have sharpened machetes and other longer blades, it requires a certain amount of skill, but a very good edge can be achieved.
Thank you.

Is it possible to sharpen or reprofile kukris or recurved blades? I like machetes and larger knives and want to make sure Tormek is right for me...
so how do you find your skew angle ??
And all this with NO WATER!🤣
