I love watching your humor and little mishaps that don’t keep you from making a beautiful card. We all make mistakes, it’s what we do with them that makes us crafters.
Hi Cathy, Watching you from central Florida, I live in Leesburg Florida about an hour from Orlando. I am a 63 year old woman who needed something to keep me from going stir crazy during this pandemic🤪 I literally just started cardmaking since the Coronavirs started...with that being said, I am not very good, but I so love making cards, at least trying to make cards for my family and friends for their birthdays, or any other special occasion that might be going on. I started watching RUclips to see what people were doing and I came across one of your videos and it was such a fun time watching you, you are incredibly gifted and I absolutely love watching your videos...you are funny, talented, and just down right fun to watch, you put a smile every time I watch you... I believe that any person that can put a smile on someone's face at any given time is a wonderful thing, especially during this time of all the craziness in the world...we definitely need beautiful people like you to put smiles on our face! Keep bringing us wonderful videos and keep making us smile, you are so appreciated ❣🤗
I appreciate your kind comment! And yes, card making is ridiculously fun! I have been crafting and scrapbooking for years but never knew how fun it was to make cards! They are wonderful little canvases!
I have to say that my craft room is always full with supplies, me and all the inside voices that walk through each project. It just helps to "talk" it out. It just sometimes help, but not always. I wish that most times I could get dies with stamp sets especially these smaller stamps (makes layering much easier) but I can't spend $40+ for one set (stamp/die) plus postage. A lot of companies the minimum order for free postage is $75 or $100. I truly appreciate when companies offer a discount, I depend on getting a few things on a wish list when on sale. I wish companies would offer a discount if you buy the stamp and matching die. I have to decide if I want to buy two stamps or a stamp/die. Cathy appreciate your video's, I love your attitude when crafting - it's always FUN.
Truly adorable CAS card. So glad you didn't add bling. Also glad to see I'm not the only one talking my way intensely what is, in theory, a relaxing little hobby. My son used to drop by the door occasionally just to remind me to breathe, shake his head, walk away.
Cathy, it's refreshing to see a woman appearing just as she is without makeup. I applaud you. I seldom wear makeup & when I do, it's very minimal. Thankfully, my husband prefers the natural look. You are lovely just the way you are. This slim line card is adorable. I am a one colour Copic person as well, as blending is something I haven't come close to mastering yet. I'm a tad intimidated by them, truth be told. Do we all, as women, talk to ourselves when we are crafting - or baking - or cooking? I know I talk to my dog as well as myself. My poor hubs says he doesn't know when to answer me half the time. lol Thanks for the fun video.
So adorable, Cathy! I love your videos, not just for the inspiration but because you always make me smile. "I am not the world's greatest masker, but I know enough to be dangerous." That cracks me up!
Cathy you crack me up! Thank you for being real, showing us your first and second versions and admitting you're not a copic color queen. Your cards are always fresh and clean! Don't stop talking to the camera, either!!
Yes! Whispering works. I felt like I was right there with you in your craft/ dining room. Thanks for leaving in all the decision-making footage-- so helpful, and gratifying to see I'm not the only one who has to play with things to get the masking order right
Very cute card. A suggestion for the little ink mishaps on the masking material...simply ignore and use a different color ink for the image you want to keep. It’s just a mask. Thanks for sharing. Always love your sense of humor!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video! I giggled the whole time because you say out loud the very things I say to myself when working on a project! I ask questions and answer them in return! It's like there are two people giving opinions at one time in my mind! It was fun watching you do the same! Precious card, by the way!!! I want to make that card you just made, but I'll have to use Lawn Fawn. It's all I have on hand for the fox. Anyways... really enjoyed this video!
I love that you craft in your dining room! As fun as craft room tours are, we don’t all have the space or funds to have a dedicated room just for that. But it doesn’t stop us from making ❤️
I have a lovely craft room upstairs since my daughters left home but it gets too quiet up there & it's a long trek from the kettle ... so I use the dining room too!
You’re beautiful everyday! Your smile and your joyful personality shine through no matter what! And your videos always teach me something and make me smile. 😊
I think your wonderful tutorial is the reason this stamp/die set has already sold out! I went to purchase them and was so disappointed. Oh well, I can wait until they are back in stock. I just love the simple designs you use and this card is so adorable. Thank you for sharing Cathy and just know I'm a big fan from Northwest Minnesota.
Hey, Tiffany! Being in a public platform, I was not aware of this when I once mentioned standing up to place a panel. My goal is to make all crafters welcome!
Cathy Zielske it can definitely be hard at times to make everyone feel included, especially when it’s not something you consciously think about in your day to day life, so when someone goes that extra step of means a lot.
You know what I WANT to know? How I lived this long without you in my life. Garsh I lurrrrvvv your humor. You slay me. You literally lay me out. The way you talk yourself thru every single step is so predictable, because I've been catching up on all your vids for a bit now, as I craft & you'll do something & I'll say....."well, that happened, but that's ok, 'cuz she's gonna do such & such...." & then you fo shizzle say those exact same things! I mean.....I legit love your style, lady stampy pants!
17:37: “...does my little fox look a little too much like Eddie Munster? “ Kathy, I SO love your thinking out loud. It’s what we all do, but to hear you say it is a hoot! So glad you’re here to brighten our day. Such a cute card, by the way!
It's so generous of you to show us your design thoughts, I'm learning so much from you, thank you. I love the composition you made using masks - beautiful cards!
You are a true delight. I love your style of coloring. I am so intimidated with my Copics. I will now use your style. Your card is adorable. Thank you so much for sharing, Susan.
Charming card. Lowering the greeting and the white dots on the trees elevated the design. Thanks for sharing the ideas that came before. Seeing the design evolution improves my understanding of the difference between good and great design.
I forgot to say I’m good with how you look. I’m not that in to makeup. I wear it so rarely that I have to buy new mascara when I do. Shoot. Last time I wore mascara was Christmas which means I need to buy more. Thanks to Lindsay the Frugal Crafter I learned that I can repurpose eyeshadow into an art supply. Works great on a gel plate.
I started 20 years ago and dies were not used! So, I got used to masking and fussy cutting all stamps. I used to make a mask for every stamp. I find a little border around is good and easier. Enjoyed your tutorial style!!
OMG Cathy, YOU are my new favourite RUclipsr love your channel. I've been making my own cards for almost 20 years. I still consider myself a beginner. There are soooo many new techniques i have no clue how to achieve. Love your way of teaching, your humour your tips and techniques THANKYOU ❤❤❤❤
@@czdesign absolutely I've been binge watching your channel today from Ipswich Australia. Home from work sick but finding your channel made me giggle all day. You're just my kind of crafter imperfect and real
Cathy, you said it didn’t have to be perfect. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to begin the process of making a card and how to add simple accents and how they can really step up our cards. I know that when I do something that I had been afraid to do my confidence increases and I feel that I just may be able to do this. We just have to realize that we can ALWAYS learn no matter our age. Your card is perfect, it’s simple, definitely a card I would send out at Christmas time. Oh, I loved the beach card!!! Love you. Take care and stay safe. ~Barbara
I drop everything constantly! In fact I have done this after completing a card and boom 💥 a card ready for the trash can on more than 1 occasion oh sure I’ve tried to save the card before giving up but the trash can won every time. I’m grateful to see this. And you crack me up! So glad I came across your channel! Thank you for all you do!!
Gee Cathy, that looks just like me, dropping my inked stamps on my project. Since I had my bilateral carpal tunnels repaired years ago I have had trouble gripping at times. So you go girl, there are a few of us out there with you. It's only paper, so we do it again. Yeah !!!
So glad you are real! Especially when it comes to coloring with the Copics and smaller images. Sometimes I think I should blend 3colors but why? One color is all you need on a tiny image...2 at the most. Your card is awesome! Thank you.
Oh wow, I held my breath while you were coloring those tiny hats. The rest of the time I was laughing because I talk my way through just about everything I do. I have been living alone for too long, talking to myself, and yelling at the tv. Anyway, your card is so cute even with the fox hooves...lol!
I absolutely love you!! You should see me when I watch your videos. You're asking things and I'm over here shaking my head as if you could see me! Your cards are absolutely adorable. You just keep up the great work! P.S. - your kids are so lucky to have a mom like you!!! Keep that wonderful sense of humor!
I sooo enjoy your videos. Not sure how I missed this one back in September but so glad I found it. I love that you show your slow, meticulous process. Also it's reassuring to see your first attempt. Thank you so much for showing it all!
I'm not a very good at coloring to the point of blending, but you make it ok to do it so simply. I had stopped buying copic colors. Now I'll slowly increase my collection. Thank you so much! :)
You are a dangerously beautiful woman so masking better watch out. Thanks for the adorable download. Go CZ staying with the trends making Slimline Cards. You look great and I appreciate all your knowledge and tips💚
Hi Cathy, love the card! You keep saying I’m not an expert but you do a great job anyway! Thanks for showing us how to colour. You have to swop glasses over, a pair of multi focal glasses will work really well for you so you can see your colouring and the screen too.
Would you believe the glasses I have are multifocal? The prescription is just old. I have a new one… i haven't gotten it filled. Pandemic made me make excuses!
You are so stinkin cute! And, as I have said before, you make crafting so approachable. Sometimes we try to add so many bells, whistles and techniques that crafting can lose its appeal. This is absolutely adorable - and so are you. And I also get soooo excited when something turns out good - and I say "I did that!".
I just love you. I whisper when I color with Copics too, for who knows why. It is impossible for me to watch your videos without smiling the whole way through❤️❤️❤️
Cathy Zielske Oh my gosh! I am out of breath because when I saw your reply I ran around my home squealing “Cathy replied to my comment!” I then made my husband, mom, and both sons read it. Yes I did make them read it. I feel like I have an autograph from one of my idols. Sigh. I am in my happy place now. Oh, and whispering should be common knowledge. Geez peeps, get with the program! Thank you for making my day❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love your card & love your videos! Keep them coming please. You can use the empty tape reel to wind new tape on it for smaller tape spool to work from.
FFS! Who dislikes crafting videos?? Anyway, love your videos! Love your sense of humor. I giggle through the all of them. Thanks for all the insights and tip/tricks.
Hi Cathy I am back from Australia but we are on lock down again and you. Are a wonderful diversion and inspire me ready for tomorrow.it is cold and wet but this is wonderful creating weather.thank you once again .
It’s never easy with glasses! I have the same issue with sewing. I never thought about two different glasses for close work and my sewing. ThNk you. And the card is adorable.
Love your video. I have been crafting since the 90’s and fussy cutting is not a favorite of mine. But I do it because I normally cannot afford the die cuts. I thought of purchasing this one but didn’t as I’m hoping for bigger snowmen.
Another fantastic tutorial! Lately, I was thinking I should only buy stamp sets that come with dies but after your video I can start looking at more stamp sets! AUGH! The enabling! :) Love watching your videos because many would edit out the bloopers, you keep them in and it just makes it you and the whole process so real and relatable! Thank you!
Hello Cathy, I luv watching your videos. You keep it simple which is super for me. I've only been doing this for a few months and your videos guide me and give me confidence. I'm having difficulties understanding the different dye's. If you could do a video on dyes I would be happy like Snoopy dog doing the happy dance. Have a wonderful day.
Cute card. Masking has always intimidated me, but I've seen the Gina K masking paper tip a few times. It would definitely be a lot easier than my office post-it notes. And I think my favorite part of your card is the white gel pen dots on the trees. Adorable! TFS.
You could come on here with no makeup and your hair up in curlers and you'd style be lovely. Also, did you know that Brutus Monroe sells pre-cut slimline card stock and paper now? Your card is adorable! Thanks for the tips and for sharing your time and your sense of humor with us!
Loved the video Cathy - so funny all your different voices........I feel as though you have given me permission to just do basic Copic colouring instead of trying too hard. Thanks so much xx
Cathy - You’ve got me coloring with my copics again, so I can’t thank you enough! According to the COPIC collection app on my phone I have 228 different colors. I can’t wait to try those nibs, I just bough those the other week
I love your expression, “I know enough to be dangerous!” 🤣 You have really become comfortable making these videos and the results are delightful! 👍🏻 I remember being so intimidated by the thoughts of masking my stamps but ended up loving the results after I bit the bullet and tried it. I love your cute scene. 💞
Hey Wendy, thanks so much. I think I am getting more comfy with this format. I do still edit down! The whole process took 55 minutes. So… cutting was a good idea!
I put you on big screen TV and exercised! Omg, I enjoyed having you along with me. Thanks for starting my day laughing and learning. Such cute card. Was watching it grow and grow! 💖💖💖🌹🤓
Sooooooo cute! Love watching you create! Thank you for all the tips and technics, always learning something new! Love the commentary along the way, makes it enjoyable. Be well, stay safe!
Yep. 643 in sales as of now. Look what you have done for an old retired woman? I really did think all the exciting things were over. I spent most of the hours in my day sitting in my recliner with all four of my little dogs on my lap. Now, I jump up in the morning to see what’s gonna happen and stay busy at SS. I have you to thank for believing in me and supporting me. You’ve really had my back, Cathagenius. I appreciate you more than I can say. You’ve brought me back to life and you keep me laughing all the time. Thank you to an incredible woman that I get to call friend.
Adorable card! And I just love your reactions to how cute it turned out! Isn't it funny how we get so giddy when an idea actually turns out like it did in our heads! Thanks for sharing and as always, thanks for the laughs (in a good way, of course!)
Thank you so much for this video! I am your new greatest fan. I thought that I was not not good enough to post my cards or even try to make the beautiful cards that I see on SSS. However I now know that every card is not a Picasso on the first try. Case in point: your little characters on a beach. Yes you can laugh even in a bipolar depression! Although I am not ready to stop my medication I love your sense of humor and your ability to not take things so seriously. Even though you don't succeed on the very first try don't give up because you may be on to something. If not change up and try something else. Thank you so much!
Truer words were never spoken! NO one is Picasso on first try! And I need to include more of my projects that don't work! Thanks for your comment today!
Cathy Zielske you’re in USA? Autumn for you I am in Australia and it’s spring here my garden is looking amazing x Thanks for doing these videos much appreciated Have a fantastic day 😊 IMG_3367.jpeg

This is absolutely adorable - and so are you. And I also get soooo excited when something turns out good - and I say "I did that!".
I just love you. I whisper when I color with Copics too, for who knows why. It is impossible for me to watch your videos without smiling the whole way through❤️❤️❤️
I think it's common knowledge that whispering helps you color…right?
Cathy Zielske Oh my gosh! I am out of breath because when I saw your reply I ran around my home squealing “Cathy replied to my comment!” I then made my husband, mom, and both sons read it. Yes I did make them read it. I feel like I have an autograph from one of my idols. Sigh. I am in my happy place now. Oh, and whispering should be common knowledge. Geez peeps, get with the program! Thank you for making my day❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes, that is so cute! Thanks Cathy!
Cathy, you make me laugh! I love watching your videos. Love your card and scrapbook style, and your down-to-earth approach. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Girl ypu are so beautiful, with or without makeup!
Oh thank you!
OMG! I love this comment. FFS! hahaha! Yep. That's what I think, too! YOU ROCK!
@@czdesign Thank you! ;)
Hi Cathy I am back from Australia but we are on lock down again and you. Are a wonderful diversion and inspire me ready for tomorrow.it is cold and wet but this is wonderful creating weather.thank you once again .
Such a great card. Such a great video. And you are so stinkin' adorable. It's impossible to watch your videos without smiling. Thank you!
I really enjoyed watching the tutorial. I will definitely try it. Your coloring is perfect.
Thanks so much 😊
“I made that!” Love it 💕
Thank you for your brainstorming!
Wow that is so lovely! I am totally gonna do the white dots on my trees from now on, thank you!
Have fun!
Adorable card Cathy. Who needs makeup when you have personality in spades!
Awww. Thanks!
I absolutely love you!!! You are real and funny and make me feel like I’m a professional card maker. 😂 Thank you for your videos.
Thank you!
Thanks so much. I need to keep remembering to keep the bloopers. And the mistakes. I think it reminds folks that we all make 'em!
I love your card. You give me hope to continue to use my copics. Thanks for sharing.
Keep practicing!
Thank you for putting a smile on my face. You are great!
You are so welcome!
I love you and your card is absolutely adorable. I feel the same as you about the masking... it's a lot of thinking. You are a delight!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing yourself with us, love the card, very cute.
Appreciate you watching!
Loved the video Cathy - so funny all your different voices........I feel as though you have given me permission to just do basic Copic colouring instead of trying too hard. Thanks so much xx
Yep! Keep it simple!
You are always a joy to watch and what an adorable card! I’m not the greatest at coloring and/or shadowing but I can do this! Yay!
Thanks for watching!
Cathy - You’ve got me coloring with my copics again, so I can’t thank you enough! According to the COPIC collection app on my phone I have 228 different colors. I can’t wait to try those nibs, I just bough those the other week
Wow! That's a good collection! I have that app too… never thought to look. I have 177 markers. Wow!
I have been stamping about 3 years and I have only just recently started doing masking techniques because I thought they were too advanced for me.
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching!
Cute card! Thanks for sharing!
Adorable card. Thank you for explaining how you ground your figures. I always have trouble with that. Now, I think I can do it.
This video is 7 months old. I was just a tourist from Dallas back then. I subscribed during the first video. You’re so fun.
Ha! Look at you now!
Yeah, that's how I know how much I love this hobby. I still get excited about it every time!
You are hilarious love your down to earth videos. 😀
Appreciate you watching!
Cathy Zielske you’re in USA? Autumn for you I am in Australia and it’s spring here my garden is looking amazing x
Thanks for doing these videos much appreciated
Have a fantastic day 😊

So cute!!! Love that card !!
Thank you for all you do! Might you have a recommendation of markers that aren’t Copic prices, yet are a nice substitution for a beginner? Thanks!
Judy! Yes! Check out Arteza. VERY good price for good markers!
So. . .simple, not fancy, is okay? I forgot that, especially with coloring. Thanks! Nice job!
