My husband and I had the good fortune to live in a very remote spot in Montana for almost 2 years. In the winter the female elk, with an occasional juvenile male, would be out in the field behind our cabin, grazing, looking for something in patches where there was no snow. From indoors our cat and dog watched in amazement! And so did we. This would happen just as it began to get light out. One morning we had a long trip to make into Missoula so we left at 4 am. As we advanced along the highway we came across a large herd, including bulls. We moved very slowly and the herd parted to make way for our truck. But first they looked inside the truck windows and my eyes met theirs. What a thrill to be so close! Sadly, we left Montana. We had to leave for family reasons since anything less important than family would never have convinced us to leave all that stunning beauty behind. I think heaven must be a lot like the Bitterroot valley in western Montana.

Sadly so, many parts of the world are experiencing the same as well. For my own effort, I am reducing consumption, recycling, no longer own a car, use bus and train and walk more. Some might bike. We can all do more 🌎💚
