This is actually one of the best videos I’ve ever seen containing this topic, I’ve been trying to get better and most videos have been no help but is great.
This will sound totally dumb, but running the ball vs cover 3 and 4 is weakness too with the right blocking. You can gash them for 4-5 yards a run consistently and get them to crowd the box into a more favorable coverage for passing deep.
I usually just run the ball against Cover 3, if their linebackers stop my two first attempts I'm usually close enough to the line to gain so on my 3rd down I either run it again, use Play Action, or quick pass concepts, maybe even deep shots if I can tell they expect me to run again.
This video is good and explains it well but one thing I would say that I didn’t hear him say is pretty much with any zone coverage. You have to overload the coverage. Basically, if there’s too much traffic coming into the areas, then there’s gonna be openings. The basic concept of is sort of “pass off” As their covering and of course the defense is mine pass. Especially if you’re playin Alabama and some clown has Jalen milroe back there throwing your dt around like he’s a Yorkshire terrier

You will see your dB’s run into each other and the slot guy will be open 95 % of the time for touchdown. Please pass it on. We need this coverage fixed asap
5:57 mark. Why does the seam flat take the vertical if it's zone? At that point it's like man coverage for the vertical route. I struggle with Cover 3 because I'm assuming that the defender will follow the receiver for a certain point then go back to his zone.
Yes, if you look at the top left when choosing a play it says man, zone, or match. Typically cover 3 is played in “match” coverage meaning if the seam flat has no other receiver on the dbs side he will follow the receiver no matter what. Just be aware when looking for match or zone. Hope this helped!
Match coverage has a set of rules that the defenders must follow. In some cases that involves a defender abandoning the zone to man up a receiver. It's a bit complex to explain through text. But coaches like Saban and Belichick modified standard cover 3 zone into cover 3 match to help hide the obvious weaknesses of cover 3 such as the seam

Yeah I get picked a lot on underneath line backers usering or jumping up and catching passes that seem open prior to them closing that gap while the ball is in the air. I think I need to start pressing L1 and see if that helps
Cover 3 has a weakness and that is the second defender in. You can run curl flats and put that defender on a bind. Do i defend the curl feom the outside wr or do I defend the flat. He can never be right.
Against a user yes, against the computer on Heisman the CPU can ALWAYS do both. Throw it short he hit sticks the shallow receiver and the ball falls out, throw it over top he makes an amazing 14 ft high jump to either swats the ball down or outright picks it 🤦🏾♂️
Go to practice and play defense and look at the different adjustments. You’ll have to learn the button mapping so you don’t gotta actually read the menu you just know what you want to adjust
Each setup has strengths & weaknesses listed so you know what to call. As for how to do adjustments do you mean the actual button combinations? We walk through it slowly the first time.

Trips TE I know PA shot wheel specifically is good with the wheel route, flood concepts work well on match and iirc if you have 4 receivers/RB on one side of the ball it can just completely turns off match coverage(but take that with a grain of salt I like vaguely remember hearing that and don’t know if it’s true)

Cover 7, Cover 9, Cover 6 match coverages with a spy should do the trick
Run the ball, get 5 yds a carry and tire the defense all while running clock and scoring will stop that.

I rarely run Cover 2 zone. It is way too easy to torch.
definitely not great as a full time coverage but can be a good mix in. having outside clouds & hooks over the middle can be helpful.
