Unboxing a NIB Bosch Perfecta 85 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

Today a 1990's German made Bosch cylinder vacuum to look at for a ridiculous half an hour! Watch to the end, I dare you. As this video has come from my archives, the sound quality isn't great, but you should be able to hear every single word unless you mute me.

FD 7608 = 1996. You can date B/S/H-machines quite easily - the first digit indicates the decade, 5=70s, 6=80s, 7=90s, die second digits indicates the year. So you're perfectly right by dating it back to '96.

Pretty nice machine. Would be great to have a powerhead. I enjoy canister powerhead demos the best as they tend to be more unique than uprights and straight suction doesn't leave much surprise to be had really.

I was at the office today and the cleaning lady on my floor had the vacuum out. It was a red Riccar commercial. I asked her if I could use it. I should have taken a picture of it. They also have a green Panasonic that looks identical. I told her the cord had a short it in and they just unplugged the cord and plugged a new extension cord in. Easy. I wasn't that impressed with it though. It is a clean air and the hose kept falling off its dock which meant the suction couldn't get to the base. I think it runs about $800.

Roger what happens of you store a vacuum in a hot environment? Just asking

Extremes of temperature both hot and cold are not good for the plastic and rubber components in a vacuum cleaner. It could take years for damage to occur but it is always best to try and store vacuum cleaners in a damp free, temperature controlled environment.
