Lenovo X1 Carbon - broken hinge [4K]

Amazing video! What a great walkthrough. I had been hesitating to try and fix my hinges but I just successfully replaced a broken one on my X1 Carbon thanks to your help. I have the touch screen version so it was slightly different (a couple connections to look out for when removing the bezel) but the rest was identical.

Could you see if there is a way to tighten the hinge tension? Mine is just getting a bit loose and floppy but not too bad yet.

where did you find a replacement hinge? I checked on the Lenovo site and they dont sell them

Find the FRU and check ebay and amazon. That's what I did.

This laptop is great but this hinge breaking problem is quite common and maybe by design from lenovo to make money

Hi, 1 question, my hinge didnt snap but the top cover corner snapped ... so i need a new cover or the whole top part?
