Former edible arrangement employee here. NEVER get chocolate covered strawberries from them..they will take the bruised or sometimes even Moldy strawberries and cover them in chocolate so you can't see whats wrong with them, you're better off getting them fresh and dipping them yourself

I ran a small, in-home bakery with my wife a couple of years ago. We'd sell our baked goods at our local farmers' market, and we'd sell out of product every week. Unfortunately we couldn't quite turn it into a 'real' business, but watching this brought me back to making Hokkaido Milk Bread and Cinnamon Rolls every week during the holidays, and I remember those days fondly. We had next to no idea what we were doing, but after watching this it's funny to see you doing all the same things we did, right down to how you cut the rolls before the final rise. Thanks for the fond memories!

me too! for cinnamon rolls, I always call them cinnamon buns. something about it makes them seem more fluffy :)
I used to work in a bakery, and one thing they taught me was to pull the dough back a little when you roll to really keep it tight. Its hard to explain over text but essentially, each time you roll the dough over itself tug it towards your chest gently and the center swirl comes out amazing
Stretch the dough or keeping it taught? So that the roll constricts then relaxes on itself instead of just relaxing?

No. Probably more folks have regular table salt than a nice fancy Kosher salt. I'm the kind of person that thinks salt is salt. Except, in the case when it's not.
Nah, table salt is better for baking than kosher salt (size and surface area of the grain)

Love this recipe! It's nice to see a different version of something I grew up with. When I used to make this with my mother we would use one of those bundt cake pans. Downside of that, though, is the syrup wasn't always evenly distributed!

what kind of oven overcooks things on the TOP rack? it's the bottom that does that because that's where the heating elements / flames are, right??

@@SystematicAttic Yeah but it's a _convection_ oven. the whole thing is supposed to be roughly the same, and in my entire life's experience it's always the bottom that's hottest.

I have made these as dessert for family Christmas dinner and they have always been an enormous hit. They are literal perfection that I look forward eating every year now. Now I am sitting here with a couple pounds of toasted sugar again and think I may just make another batch for New Years.

All she needs is to get the subscribers to make a difference and feed the kids of her village and buy them things they can't afford themselves. Basic things like shoes, food, etc...
