I cried when he broke the senko
Luke J thats all senkos do
Derek Foster that’s what the Yamamoto senkos do. That’s why I stopped using them
It’s ok it’s ok! Time for a ned rig 😂😂😂👍
@@bassinassassin9077 poo
Bassin’Assassin yeathat and catch fat bass
Just coat the senkos with flex seal and they will never rip again!
Lol
Maybe if you use something like line-x then that actually might work
😂😂😂
I hate paying the 7 dollars a pack for the senkos when they rip every 1 to 2 fish you catch on them
Sc0ut use o rings
i burned thru an entire bag in an hour cus they kept flying off the hook...got real pissed off at that one
Grey__X small zip ties
$7 for a bag of senko's? Your the dumbass paying exorbitant prices for plastic worms. You can find them all day for $2 at Wal-Mart. Just a little pro tip for ya.
@@hardtarget2359 Bro I just bought some at Walmart and they were 6.97 lol
Notice how Yamamoto wiggles on the way down, this is what triggers bites, this is what makes it unique
Is it that much noticeable?? Is that tiny shimmy worth 4X the amount??
@@dacuna1010 I was thinking the same thing. I started out using Yamamotos but I soon noticed that the fish hit Yum brand just as much
thanks for pointing that out i was wondering why they were double the price here in Canada
i believe so .. i would say more than half my strikes come with no jigging and just let the senko
sink on it's own..
@@stevengarcia877 it seems if they don’t run with it on the drop..the first two or three twitches draw a strike-if they are in the mood..and usually it makes them in the mood lol
3 bucks for a pack of dingers
9 bucks for a pack of senkos
I switched to yum for a week after only using senkos and my fishing hasn't falling off a bit so I think I'm. Gonna stick with yum and get 3 packs of yum for what I give for 1 pack of yamamotos
LSU Wreckin Shop I use yum and I love them... I fish a little golf course lake and I catch numbers of bass with them
Steven Harbin Its been a while since i posted that comment and im now using the Johnny Morris bass pro brand Stik O Worms they are almost identical to the senko in every way to me but way more durable and you get 16 ct 7in for less than $5 and they have a ton of colors. Give them a try if you already havent
I've had a similar experience. I do very well with Yum's Pumpkin Chartreuse 4" dinger.
I can’t bring myself to pay 6-8$ a pack for senkos 2$ a pack for yums they might not perform as well but the fish don’t care if you paid 8$, 2$, or 100$ lol
fun fact i know this is a 10 month later but here in NC @the new gander outdoors in mooresville you can get a 30 pack of yum dingers 5" in any color for 10 bucks i picked up a pack because between the durability of the plastic and the the cost of each worm only being like .33 cents compared to the almost .80+ cent yamamotos it was was a no brainier and i also have not seen a dip or decline in the bass bite at least on lake Norman
Dingers great if you like to fish stick baits with a slip sinker, home made Ned rig or Neko rigging due to the buoyancy. Hard to beat that senko for the wiggle, just look at the texas rig comparison, there is none
@Srgnt Binga Get into fishing and it'll make sense.
To sum up this whole video if you want to pay 6 dollars on a pack of lures and catch fish but go through a bag in a hour get senkos if not get dingera
And still catch fish lol
The Dinger has an advantage when fishing in real shallow cover like pads where you want to longer suspension time. Otherwise I go with the Senko.
People defend the Senko because they’re dumb enough to buy em and don’t want to look stupid.
Dinger are great for 8ft of water. I love the slow presentation fall and gives time for bass to come check it out also stronger and last longer, other then that then the Senko is better. Reminder Dinger are great for not just shallow but then its a hard bite like cold fronts or fall season. Remember that slow fall from the Dinger can attract bass from farther distance and gives them more time.
How is the senko better?
It's wat u have confidence in.
Best comment yet..............I will gladly pay more for that senko shimmy to catch a bass
Dingers seem more durable yes, but the Senko has better movement.
Really? Isn’t the slow fall of the dinger better?
@@michaelmannucci8585 no, only if it looks good while falling slowly. The dinger just looks like a stick. The Yamamoto almost flutters down
@@jpap967 for $8 a pack they freaking better do everything better 😂
@@jpap967 dingers flutter on the way down too with a bit of weight
@@corbud they do though. I've used em all and I just get more bites on Yamamoto's. I gladlt pay 80 cents each instead of 30 cents each
I like both. I caught around 5 fish on a watermelon YUM in a couple hours. YUM has the better price and durability while Senko is heavier which allows me to catch it farther. Though right now I use senkos more. I like the notch in the YUM that make it more compatible with Texas rig. I am skeptical of the wobble makes a difference.
I use them both, when the bite is on fire, I use the Yum and when it’s a tough bite , I use the senko!! No comparison fish like it better! I really wish they didn’t because of the price! I just try to catch them on sale and load up!!
Exactly
sounds like a good strategy .. .
how does the Yum do against Senko when trolling ... i'll bet there is little difference
If you aren't using an o-ring or a black hair rubber band on your senko's, you are just throwing your money away.
If you're trying to prove the Senko has a more dense salt make-up, CONGRATULATIONS! You did it.
@Noble6 🤣
@Noble6 you're *
Noble6 the dinger was more durable but ok, and it has wobble to it
@@ellechero3559 wow man you found out that he typed a word wrong you're so smart
People don't say you're because it takes a second longer which is alot what typing
Bingo
Lmao yum is GANSTER HERE IN NORTH OKLAHOMA. HANDS DOWN.
Its funny people saying the senko has better movement and wiggles on the way down and whatnot. But is that what bass want? Do they notice it? I see no difference fishing senkos, dingers, stick-o or any other brand. I tried them all and fish 7 days a week. The biggest difference I seen is bass is likely to hit baits it hasn't seen before. If it's been caught on a senko before it's less likely to bite a senko next time. So using a different brand than everyone else in pressured waters will help. The senko being more expensive means less fishermen use it, so that means less bass have been caught and released on one.
i didn't start using these baits until the middle of last summer because...they look dumb and they couldn't possibly work and why the hell does anyone hook a worm IN THE MIDDLE? DO YOU PEOPLE EVEN KNOW WHAT A BASS IS?!?!?! when i finally started using them i was absolutely blown away by how amazingly well these things catch fish. it's just...what the hell. probably the best lure i've ever used. i've always thought the yum dingers were the cheap "off brand" compared to the senko. the price difference is crazy! but i've always had better luck with the dingers so i use them 90% of the time when using this type of lure. it seems from this video that...yum dingers are actually better? seem to be more sturdy and they fall sooooooo much slower! the fall is where most of my bites come from. i didn't expect the video to turn out that way at all.
I will take Senko over yum dingers all day
Good things are never cheap and cheap things are never good. You proved which has more salt. Nothing else. Gary Y sinko was designed that way.
If it wasnt for Gary no one would have a stick bait.............He set the bar
Once took a bite out of a senko. Bad desicion
Yamamato i use for t-rig and and dinger for wacky flipping docks. The slower fall makes it better for shallow water.
I fish shallow and not for lack of trying, do better with Yum Dingers
Interesting!
That slight wobble on the fall with senkos is what makes them special and no other senko style bait seems to do it. Yes, Senkos are pricy. Yes, they're very soft and aren't as durable. But they've earned their reputation and they just flat out work. On days with the worst conditions, on pressured fish, you name it. Don't get me wrong, other senko baits like dingers and even bass pro branded Senkos work too, but I've used Yamamoto Senkos for decades now, and they've never let me down. Green Pumpkin w/ black flake, Watermelon w/ Red Flake, and Black & Blue. I don't need anything else.
Great video. I have been using Yum Dinger for quite some time just because it is cheaper and more durable. If you prefer Senko, I highly recommend using them with the O-ring setup. It'll save you tons of money. The O-ring will prevent them from flying off your hook during casts.
For a while...
I Texas rig my Senko worms, eliminates the issue with the worm falling off during casts and it just works for hooking bass up.
I like the Yum for durability but they will dry out. #Biobait is better than both of them. Made with fish oil and will never dry out plus they are better for the environment. Check them out @ Biobait.com and look up their youtube vids for information.
honestly i love both of them the yum dinger and the gary yamamoto senko are the ones i only get in the senko category if i had money to burn i get the gary if i wanna be cheap i get the YUM
The senko has slight smoother action but It’s not worth all that extra money, fish still bite well on that dinger
When it comes to certain senko brands i'm not to picky. I only use different brands because of the different color and sizes that are offered.
Where I live I barely catch anything with big worms maybe im not fishing them at right time or fishing them to fast or slow.
But I catch bass non stop on zoom finesse worm an zoom lizards. Im stocking up on Yun dingers though bought two 12 packs for $2.12 each an just ordered three more packs for that price that is a major good deal.
wacky senko with o-rings and problem solved.
I gave a buddy of mine 3/4's of a pack of Yamamoto's because i got sick of the durability of them, while i still outfished him with the Dingers. No brainer
I was about to say I have caught like 8-10 fish per senko I dont think durability is that big of an issue
woosa42 I outfish my buddies with senkos. Put on an o ring and get em. The salt also makes them hold on longer and it’s easier to cast. Dingers are an amazing bait too!
the 2nd test is why you have wacky rings
Yamamato's are better thought
I think most of the comments are overthinking this. I don’t think bass are quite as sophisticated or smart as we think. They’re predators & strike out of hunger or aggression. I don’t think they’re analyzing wiggle, sink rate, or firmness of plastic. I like to think they’re smart because they outsmart me most of the time!😂
Agree -- a bass will eat anything! BUT certain baits and colors do outperform others at times....
I vote dinger ... Cheaper , tougher , and the slow rate of fall is actually a bonus IMO where I fish
Hard to go wrong with either!
Dingers are good if you are on a budget or are looking for a soft plastic to throw in addition to another bait. But senkos are much softer, which is more good than bad because you get more action with a senko on the fall. You also get a much better hookup ratio when texas rigging due to the softness. I usually go with senkos.
I always run the Texas rig with the Senko, it just works and the worm stays on the hook longer.
I like the Dingers better because I can put one on and it last all day. Don’t have to worry about any of those pesky bass biting them and tearing them up like a senko.
That's definitely an advantage of the Dingers!
My wallet likes the Dingers more lol lol
Dingers fall slower, I use them for skipping under boats and docks for that extra time on the fall, I feel senkos just sink and the strike zone is less
Thanks for your perspective on it man!
I always start with a Yamasenko . Got 2 bass back to back this morning my first 2 casts . Love them
They are unbeatable!
The reason the Yamamoto baits break so easy is bc they have a lot of salt in them so it attracts the fish better
Exactly
Day before Father’s Day I caught a 15 lbs. 2 oz. largemouth on the Yamamoto custom bait Senco
Whoa!! Where?
Yum dingers work just fine for me and they're cheaper
Here is the original and the knock-off,ha.Remember, if Gary had not made the Senko, you would not have these cheap Knock-offs from those that cannot come up with designs of their own.The reason the Senko has better action is the infusion of salt throughout the bait as the weight. This salt degrades the plastics durability, but gives the bait its beautiful shimmy on the drop, plus bass like the salt. Use o-rings instead of sticking your hook in the bait and a little shim top side to stop tearing in the bait body.Gary's Senko, is by far the best bass catcher, over the knock-offs, because of the weight of the salt thru-out the length of the body. Quit sticking hooks in the bait.
just sayin', i've got yum dingers that are covered in salt. plus, that slow fall is just so so nice. original doesn't always mean best.
So hard of a design to come up with huh..
caught my first smallie on a dinger last weekend on a Texas rig and it felt coool but I’ll definitely try the senkos soon
Congrats! 💪
In a tank there is not much difference, add a little current and Gary's stuff really stands out. But at 9+ bucks a bag, I am supplementing with Dingers, they have some great colors, and they catch fish.
This is cool to watch and def shows more durability in the yum, however the senko fall is irrisistable. The senko out fished ten to one. Regardless of the cost the senko will always be the best. Nice video though jay! Cool to see
Truth
They look the same. The Senko just sinks faster. I'd rather have a slower fall rate. Just my preference though. Thanks for the demonstration!
Thanks for watching man!
🍉 yum dinger. My favorite finesse lure.
I have used both and the Yamamoto out fishes the dinger.Yamamoto costs more and may not be as durable but they put fish in the boat
Thanks for the feedback man!
Rub the salt out on the YUM dinger between your fingers and it loosens up the bait and gets a lot more "wobble" action on the fall and still holds up better than the original senko...no it's not a knock on senkos, I love senkos and wish I could use them alot more but my financial situation calls for me to fish on the cheaper side and picked up some tricks with the dinger to get more action and slightly faster fall
Appreciate you sharing that man! For sure they both catch 'em!
@@JayKumarsBassBlaster no problem bud and thank you for what you do! Good luck and stay safe out there my friend!!
I fish both if i want it to gall faster i fish the senko slower the yumm or if i want the yumm to fall fastwr i add nail weights to the ends
Makes sense, appreciate it man!
I’ve been bass fishing a long time. Senkos are fragile …… but nothing out fishes them. The salt makes them fragile …. but that’s what attracts the fish!
Tough to beat a Senko but if you ask a biologist about that salt thing...
@@JayKumarsBassBlaster I have read that blood is salty. They put salt in bait to simulate blood. I catch more, bluegills, etc.; on “Playdough”! Which is made of flower, salt, and food coloring. It works for me!
Yum. And if I need faster fall I got a trick for that
Yamamoto senkos catch me more fish. Even though they are less durable, bass can't resist the scent and the taste of the senkos, what they don't enjoy is eating bare plastic.
I dislike people that delete and repost their comments instead of editing them.
They don't enjoy it when they get hooked in the lip either
They don't enjoy eating bare plastic yet will go for soft plastics of other brand and hard lures. Flaw logic of yours.
Pear Fishing you are full of shit and and you know it, stupid people believe fish actually sit there and taste the plastic, you can argue they will keep in on their mouth longer before the spit it out, bass eat anything and I mean anything, as long as they see it, plus most strikes are reaction, stop the bull shit, next time you think you're catching more fish with your expensive bait switch to a a cheap one and then you will see how the fish still bite just as much, as long as fish is there you'll catch fish if they aren't there you will not catch a fish, and if anybody is new watching this then reading my comment don't fool yourself into believing the more expensive baits are better, for a third of the price of a yamamoto crap you can have three times the fun, and I got 11 pound bass hanging on my wall that I caught with zoom pumpkin color worm on clearance from Walmart so shut the fuk up dude.
1111stunna1111 yea they will eat anything in a stocked pond thats a oversize puddle. try putting run of the mill plastics in front of heavy pressured bass. you won't get as many bites
the lures that break the easiest will always out fish the ones that just catch fish after fish with same lure
What? That makes no sense.
Rez no it does because the action is smoother and less stiff
Jean Choquette that's not at all what Thomas said. He said that the lure that catches fish after fish without wearing down will be out fished by the lure that breaks easiest. That makes NO sense. It's totally contradictory.
Rez he said the one that breaks the easiest will outfish the stronger one ! The stronger one doesnt have a action as good as the other one so you wont get as much bite even if it last longer imo
Jean Choquette but he's saying that the stronger one will catch fish after fish. I've caught plenty of fish on both. The difference I feel is the weight. Going back to what you said, you're saying action is superior despite the stronger one catching fish after fish. No sense.
I still choose Gary Yamamoto. Which it all depends on how fishing too.
The softer the bait the more realistic and movement it has bitter sweet I love Gary yamamoto
The Silver Pirates thankyou!
Senkos break easier because they have salt in them. The salt causes the fish to bite and not let go.
Yes and they sink faster. I would say salt in general gets fish to bite it, not sure of the nt letting go part vs scent...
Yamamotos def have a better action but they are super easy to tear . especially on a shakyhead.
Believe it's that salt...
Good video! The senko did have some little shakes falling the dinger didn't. I'm trying the strike king senko real soon!
I like the weight and fast fall of the Senko
I never caught anything on the yum but I switch to the senko I catch fish in same spot
it's basically the exact opposite for me. the senko seems to not work while the dinger just SLAYS fish.
Senko has more salt and the bass are holding to the bait longer so it is more forgiving for first time fishermen and the Dinger has more rubber and it is tougher and it last longer. It is getting a little too pricey for Yamamoto but it is the best bait out there, it still is cheaper than buying a real shinners.
I was reluctant to try the dinger after having a lot of success with the senko but when I finally did I learned real quick that the dinger is just has effective if not more effective then the senko. I think it’s hilarious that people keep spending the extra money on senkos when the dinger is just has good.
Yum is way better, also Elders Magic kills
That's right
For me durability is 2nd to fish caught
All these debates on baits, hooks, reels etc etc, to me whatever works and it all depends on the weather and location. Ive caught large mouth up to 7lbs using a vintage zebco rod and shimano reel (3:! gear ratio) then I decided to go hight tech with tatula rod and reel and all I catch is 1-3 pounders while everybody else is catching 4 and up.. I went back to ace and retured those darn expensive gear lol
You want ur senko to be soft when you texas rig it so the the hooks pops out when you have a fish
Depends on the hook, rod/reel/line and your hookset man but with a smaller hook and lighter gear I agree!
From someone who has spent 100's on stick baits, I'll take the Dinger. No question that the fall rate and wiggle with the senko is better, but for 3x the price, it's not worth it. In the same evening two weeks ago, I caught a 2.5lb largemouth on a senko, then a 7.1lb on a dinger. I think that pretty much sums it up.
dingers always work for me in the small backwoods ponds i kayak fish from. the senko just hasn't really worked for me in them, while the dinger is almost assured to catch fish. but! the senko seems to work much better in creeks. on the whole, i'd rather have the dinger because of price and working better (for me) in ponds. but i'll always keep a couple bags of senko around. that is compared to the 8 or 10 bags of dingers, but still.
Yum dingers are by far the best in my opinion for quality and price
They're tough to beat. If you haven't seen the limited-run colors on Lurenet.com check 'em out!
Yum dingers need a heavier hook to get them to fall fast and create the shimmy
Great tip thanks!
I fish the dingers more because they're cheaper. I do well with them, and catch several fish with each one.
That being said, Yam. Senkos outfish the dingers for me.
What kind of line does everyone use for senkos...either the yum or yamamotos? And what pound test?
14lb Vicious
The Bass Pro Shop Stick-O-Worm has just as much action as the Senko and it's a little more durable at a much better price point! But if you need a slower fall rate on those finesse fishing days the Yum Dinger is hard to beat!
Wrong
Dinger seems more durable but the Yamamoto seems to have a better action. They both work just fine. Depends on which is cheaper I guess 😂
These tests are so inconclusive but funny… And you clearly weren’t strong enough to break the Yum dinner so you jabbed your thumb nail in it to rip it lmao this is dumb but thanks for trying to enlighten us anyway
I've tried all manner of soft worm baits in the same color and nothing matches the catch of the Senko
Strike king shim-e stick. Works better than these two
I totally agree
i've never seen those, but it's something i'll def look in to. i'm a SUCKER for this kind of bait, so having a 3rd brand in my tackle would be nice.
Love the Strike King in pumpkin seed chart swirl down here in south Florida.
I always go yum to save money
I will take a Yum, Berkeley, Big Bite, or any other brand any day over a Senko. They just don’t have the ability to hold up past 2 or 3 fish. But in the end you’re rewarded with Ned Worms. I don’t think they have the ability to draw fish in any better than any other brand.
If I feel I need a high reaction bait I will tie on a Zoom Super Fluke. Super Slow Fall with a lot of effortless action.
I use Flukes the same way I fish a worm.
If you can’t catch Fish with a Zoom Fluke, give up fishing.
Ill stick to my Senkos over dingers any day.
All good either way! Bass love 'em both!
Does anybody boil their soft plastics in water for half a minute to make them softer or restore their shape? Maybe boiling the YUM will make them softer and give them a bit more action.
The quality on a senkos is slightly better than dingers, but senkos cost twice the price. It’s just not worth it.
So many noobs in here praising the overpriced Yamamoto senkos. It has more action because the plastic is softer, which rips easily as well. Do you want your Yum to have the same action, be as fragile BUT ALSO stay at 1/5th the price of the Yamamoto? Drop your whole bag of Yum dingers in boiling water for 60sec. The plastic will become much softer and they'll have the exact same action as these worthless yamamoto baits and you saved a shitload of cash.
Been fishing for 35 years....its based on location style and preference.....Senko were specifically made that way......softness for both wiggle and for mouth feel when they bite
Nope. Gary Yamamoto confessed he intended them to be a soft jerk/rip bait. But instead he was blow away by how well they hit them on the fall.
I’m killing it with the YUM!! Respect to the senkos tho they’re great. I just feel like the yum works great w a size 3 hook on a Texas rig it some how finds its way on grabbing the bass’s attention I fish shallow since I don’t have a boat and it’s relatively great in going a distance when throwing it out there , it doesn’t sink as fast either which is great to me IMO
Dinger has no advantage whatsoever everybody in professional bass fishing and just your regular day. Drag it to the lake Bob will tell you the senko is better nothing for 40+ years there is no other stick bait that comes close to it. The only one that even halfway stands up to it is the bass pro shops sticko and even the pros will tell you that also, that fish tank is not enough water for you to see how much better than senko undulates down to the bottom something the otherbaits dont do as well as the senko the extra salt content that makes it fall the way that it does, which is what makes it the best stick bait on the market is the reason why they come apart as fast as they do but if you know how to cast the senko, you won’t rip them in half casting
Fish don't care about durability they react to action. And for the record Yum dingers are made by Big Bite and the same bait is packaged under several different manufacturers, some with proprietary colors, many cheaper than the YUM; Jann's Netcraft, Cabelas, ect.....look for the tell-tale "hook slot".
Yea but I care about durability, One pack of senkos will last me about 5 fish but one pack of dingers will last me about 10 fish, senkos only has more action when wacky but otherwise, there is no pint in buying senkos.
Sometimes the slower fall is advantageous…in eddies, by dams and river breaks where current is strong…i catch more off the dingers where I fish and I use both a lot…if water is still I do prefer the senko however
Fish what you want, if it does not have Gary Yamamoto on bag, I wont use it.... just aint a senko unless it has Gary's name on it.... action is different, weights are different.....just saying
I slay with em all, but Yum Dingers definitely don’t fall apart as easily. Also love that my Yums are made in the USA
Dingers are tough to beat!
Tough to beat the original Yamamoto Senko
I use both brands and like both but Dinger is WAY cheaper, is more durable, and falls slower than a Yamamoto underwater
Not really. Other ones work just as well and don't tear up as easily.
Im a yum dinger person once you figure out what hook to use with them they are crazy just using a regular 3/0 ewg hook for texas and wacky rigged 😂
Berkley MaxScent are amazing!
I agree with that!
When you pulled the yum dinger you slid your fingers which the yamamoto you didn't.... resulting in a quicker break in the senko. I'll stick with G.Y. the action in it is uncomparable to anything out there in the market right now..... the other ones just sink like a damn stick.
exactly
How old is that Yamamoto it looks WAY too grainy. They only get like that when theyre old or exposed to elements.
Yum!
Bass bite the Yum to see what it is.. Then they spit it cause it tastes like poverty. Bass bite the Senko and don't let go because it looks like a baitfish and tastes like a delicious bloody piece of wagyu.
No o ring?? YOUR NOT FISHING WACKY RIGHT!!! Orings turn 1 senko into 12 8 fish EZ
The senko breaks bc the action and flexibility it has in water very welted life like dying bait .... Yum is more stiff . Both great bait but the senko for life
I would use senkos for tournaments and dingers just for fun
Subbed and liked for this mans 7 dollar Yamamoto senko😭😭😭😭
Me too
Bass hold onto senkos longer in case you're slow on a hook set. One difference I've noticed
Dude I've learned if you spray garlic scent on the dingers or use the chartreuse garlic dip. They choke it every time and hold on.
I never had a bass spit out any plastic worm no matter the brand. They usually eat them and get gut hooked if your to slow to set the hook.
I've noticed that if you deadstick a Senko and feel a bite, you can give it another second because fish don't spit Senkos out, you can get a nice hookset on it. When I fish with Yum or Strike King stick baits etc. they'll get spit some times real quick.
