I’m lucky I found this video! I tried a few different flat straps and the length was always too long and my cooler was sliding around. Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Great idea Trip. Here's how to make it better. YOU make a 1 inch to 2 inch or so buckle for the cooler. That way, you connect the 1 inch side to the cooler and use 2 inch velcro straps. Your handy around the shop. Make it happen.👍👍👍
Ummmm, not exactly following you....
Just bought my first kayak and this just so happens to be one of my questions. Thanks so much for sharing
Glad I could help!
Another option to make adjusting even easier on one side add a rectangle ring.
HF cinch strap > hook and loop Velcro. Used it for cooler and Larry chair on my kahuna.
I'm hopefully going to go grab some of that stuff today. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great video! Love how much storage my kayak already has but this will be handy for the future for longer trips!
Thanks Mary! For sure, you never know what uses you could find for that stuff....
I love my kayak but that SUP is making me think it's time for a change...damn you Trip!
Hehehe.... Whoops.... It's definitely something you should demo, but be sure you have the the money before you get on one ;-)
Super helpful! I have the same cooler so this helped tons!
Hey awesome! Glad you like it!
Like simple but ingenious solutions, this is one of them! Why complicate things :-) Thank you for sharing Trip! (thumbs up)
Exactly, no need to complicate... Thanks!
Hey buddy hope you well great tip got back on the kayak at the weekend it was a long needed paddle , any thoughts on a camera mount? a kind of gimble mount on a stick im hunting for regards James
Doing great James! Glad you were able to get some paddle time in. A gimble mount on a stick? I have a few different things I use, check them out in the Amazon store - sailingandsuch.com/amazon-store/
Also here is a video I talk about all my camera mounts - ruclips.net/video/WF8zDxHq404/видео.html
SailingandSuch Your a star!! thank you "be lucky" all the best regards James 😊
Lol No hardly a star my man, just a silly guy with a camera and a kayak....
Trip do they make a pad eye that it 3/4 in wide that will accept the strapping. If they don't someone should make them. That is a super easy attachment method. Great idea
Hmmmm, donno. If they do it may have to be metal so that it wouldn't break. I'll do some looking around. It works!
SailingandSuch scratch that.! Found them at iboats. They are metal.

I like the Nite Ize Cam Jams!! Not as cheap as Velcro...
I like the cleats to, but the velcro is easier, lighter and I don't have to worry about as much during transport/storage either.
I believe that “loop, idk clip” is referred to as a tie down point!
Lol Yep, thanks Josh!
Great idea man! Probably going to pick some up at lowes to try it out. Thank you Trip!
You're welcome Steven! Hope it works well for ya. I use it to strap down all sorts of different things. Love it....
Great tip Trip. Thanks!
You're welcome AJ!!!!
Great vid, SUP looks pretty cool.
Thanks! The SUP is awesome!
hhhhhhhhmmmmmm bet that would be good to secure fishing rods on the side or inside of the kayak instead of behind me. I always seem to hit them when I cast.......
Oh yea, I'm sure it would be pretty good for that. Get ya a roll bud.
Love your videos man. Keep them coming
Thanks benton! I'll keep that camera going man.
Your pumpin out these videos lately
Yes sir! Hustling! Trying to grow and build some momentum. We will so how it works out doing this for a few weeks. It's tough but nothing good comes easy!
SailingandSuch yea man. Keep at it! Still looking forward to your medical/first aid video 😉
thats good stuff. Great tip!
Yep! Thanks for watching!
Brilliant!!
So simple.... lol
And it's easy too...lol
U should do another kayak camping video
I certainly plan on it Isaac, I've got 2 trips in August coming up.
Velcro meets sand. Hmmm . . . not so much
I donno, never had an issue. Usually sand doesn't have a chance to get up there.
Hi Tripp, I like your channel and think you are one heck of a dude. I subscribe to your channel. I give a thumbs up for every video I watch. I am not in a position to donate money .There are plenty of other ways to make money besides patreon and the like. Have you tried getting companiy sponsorship? Charge a guide fee for someone who wants to go kayaking with you. The channels that make great money off of youtube have a ton of followers. Why not work to try to increase your subscriber base?
The whole paying for youtube content for me ruins the community aspect of your videos.
Would you ask your family and friends to donate to your patreon account for you to make youtube videos?
Thanks for listening. I think you are an awesome person and I enjoy what you do. There will no doubt be some people who will flame me for this post. If they do, then so be it.
If you ask me to remove it, I will respectively do so. All the Best.
Thanks bud! Glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for the consistent thumbs up! Nah, no need to remove the comment ✌
I totally understand not everyone is in a position where they can support. You're right, there are other ways to make money. Sponsorships - Yes, I have tried to get sponsorships and I have even turned down sponsorships. They can sometimes be hurtful to a channel. I could take on a few sponsors that I have been offered but I turned some down because the products weren't quite good enough quality or because the sponsors asked for to much and I didn't want a sponsorship to take away from the videos. I don't want my videos to become commercials, at least not by companies that I wouldn't feel 100% about promoting.
I've reached out to some reputable companies but haven't been successful in getting a sponsorship. At my size though most sponsorships are just a trade for gear, not financial sponsorships.
I don't think it ruins things to ask for support. As someone stated in a comment already, $1 a month isn't bad. We frequently tip more than that at restaurants for a single dinner.
I beleive in Patreon and don't think it's a bad thing. I actually support someone on Patreon myself.
Nah, I don't think people will flame ya, everyone is pretty nice around here.
I do appreciate you comment though, it's allowed me
Began video with "What's up f*cks"?????
Lol Probably not my exact words....
