I'm holding post bankruptcy deal stock and warrants for Hertz. Out of bankruptcy with less debt than AVIS... which shot to 298 recently. Hertz is around 30's now because its trading otc so big funds and a lot of retail doesn't have access and is relisting on Nasdaq soon, I read around 11/9. Thats my bull thesis.

"greatest model for women in finance" ? Wtf? Why not any person , regardless of gender? Ethnicity, etc etc ? She would definitely have been a good acquaintance, and possibly a good friend potential. Pretty sure she would been a good co-worker ... Though I could be completely wrong. While I could possibly work in same team with Elon , I wouldn't last long. She seems to have a more stable and pleasant personality. That isn't to say she might not be a task master and intelligently demanding.
The real reason Cathy called it Ark is because one day she got home during lunch and it was sunny , and all the kids were well behaved and quiet , and the dog 🐕 just looked at her knowing she was wondering what to name her company? July 30, 2021 Cathie Wood's firm Sold their Chinese Stocks,. Wood had been a big believer in Chinese tech stocks, holding the likes of Alibaba, JD, Pinduoduo, and Tencent, but ARK Invest has been rapidly selling those stocks and closing out those positions entirely. On Friday, it sold off all its Tencent stock, and ARK dumped nearly 1 million shares each of Pinduoduo and JD on Tuesday, or about $150 million of the two combined. Cathie Wood's firm owned around 463,000 shares in Alibaba, and lost big on most of the shares - paying around $260 average and selling one third of purchased shares below $195.

Ark funds are investing in nascent technologies, the questions how many of the holdings will survive the market selection and become Amazon and Google, 10 or 20 years from now. For that I still think invest in QQQ should probably be the tech core holdings and ARKK just be one of the satellites.

Haven't thought much about this misallocation of capital to the old and dying industries. You forget sometimes that an investment is more than just something that generates returns, it's what you put fuel into - it's what ideas get built.
Have you considered you might be wrong? Perhaps the true misallocation of capital is in the "green revolution" right now? What are we going to do if green energy can't replace fossil fuels yet? The lack of investment in fossil fuel exploration and extraction in recent years has put us on a path where we are now sprinting towards a fossil fuel energy crisis. This is painfully evident by the skyrocketing oil, natural gas and coal prices and backwardation in their futures markets. Energy is what creates food and allows for life. You need oil to run the machines and natural gas to make the fertilizer and then more oil to move it all around. We don't have the electric trucks and trains and farm equipment yet and even if we did our electrical capacity is nowhere near being able to replace all internal combustion engines. We would just need to burn more coal and natural gas to generate the electricity making the shortages of those even worse. Maybe nuclear could do it but that would take some time too. One has to take Cathy’s comments in context. One minutes she would be talking about long term investment strategy such as being in the technology space; another minute she would be talking about rotating out of China (meaning rapid growth Chinese companies) in order to free up cash for higher growth companies to meet her short term growth targets. If one doesn’t pay careful attention to the context, one could easily get the impression that she is suggesting Florida that faces a possible change in political direction every election has a more favourable economic growth potential than China that has the Belt and Road initiative actively being implemented that would boost its economy future.

Cathie needs to be careful about attributing her career decisions to God’s Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s role is to comfort and guide us to truth about God’s nature and His Word (rather than minor issues like stock picks, direction of the economy and career moves).

Yep, in 2014 was telling everyone I knew that by 2020 EV's would be normal and by 2030 there wouldn't be new ICE cars for sale. In 2000 said in 2020's or 2030's there would be a genetic engineering revaluation (didn't know the term genomics back then). Also solar is taking over big time, 2010 was saying about 2018 or 2020 it would be the cheapest new power generation method (which it is now) and almost all new power plants will be solar and wind.

Come crash or not I am in this market for good. Algorithmic trading is all the wave now. without it i am not sure what my fate would have been in the market other than accumulating losses. but having bagged $430,000 in raw profits from just the last quarter, all without executing a single trade, i belive this is the future of all kinds of investing. technology has really come a long way in making life easier for us
