i love these simple recipe cooking videos with your grandma. a bowl of white rice and a salty side dish is terrific comfort food and makes me very happy. thanks for sharing your grandma with us. my grandma died several years ago and I miss watching her in the kitchen and learning how to cook
You're lucky. Sometimes i wonder what it would have been like had my grandmother and I been really close. It's not that she was a terrible grandmother... we were just never all that close and I really can't remember seeing her cook. I remember her husband ( my step grandfather) cooked...but not her. Oh well...I haven't even seen her since I was 16 ....that was nearly 20 years ago.
mahe78 this is my mother's side grandma. i don't see my dad's side that often... i think how we relate depends on how my parents contact with them. my mom always cares about her mom. this is why. but i don't see my cousins, aunts, or uncles... which means, they don't see their grand parents that often...
I really love and admire how you're still learning from your grandmother! My grandmother got sick and she can't remember any of the things we used to make anymore. This looks great!
Wish I had grandmother's to teach me family recipes, but I want blessed with grandmother's who cared for their grandkids :/.. your grandmother is a blessing and an awesome cook to :) and you are very lucky .
I really enjoy your videos with your grandmother, she's so sweet and calm. And she reminds me of my mother, a brilliant cook but no measurements, it's all done by eyes and experience. Tell her Hi from Kuwait 👋🌹
Almost like a kimchee, this looks yummy! And greens cooked in a liquor from other dishes is so good. Nice grandmother to give you her recipe and show you her kitchen magic!
I just love seeing you cook with your grandma; such a gentle and heart warming atmosphere, and I learn so much from it too! Please tell her thank you for sharing her time with us. Also, you look very lovely in green-so cute! Keep up the great work.
We made this daikon recipe. It is delicious !!!! We followed your advice to use the left over sauce to prepare buri. We will keep this recipe in our favorites. Thank you for sharing the knowledge of your grandmother. You are a wonderful team!
Good on you and grandma. Thanks to both of you for your time and effort. You always make the dishes you prepare so interesting, even if they seem simple. You're awesome. Keep up the tutorials, it's nice to learn meals from your culture :)

+crazedanisa 50g each :) you can maybe skip umeboshi, but i am not sure... it doesn't give that strong flavor but it may be necessary... sorry i don't know... answer for the last question is in the description box.
Hi Ochikeron, I made this yesterday! I enjoyed the cooking process as well as the end product :) It was so harihari and yummy. I find that the ginger kick in the dish makes me feel energized after a long hot day of work. I agree with you it is better than takuan. I also tried it with a bit of sweet diced yuja (I think this is a Korean citrus fruit just like yuzu in Japan) and it was so good too O_O I forgot to take picture but I will share the photo with you next time xoxo Thank you for the recipe!
I really loved your One Pice themed bento! Do you plan on doing anymore Anime themed bentos? I adore how well you do them so I'm really looking forward to some if you do them :) THANKS!

this looks so delicious! I love hearing the crunch. That makes it sound delicious too. I may have trouble finding umeboshi where I am, (I don't want to drive a very long time) but I think I can get it on Amazon.com. Is there a fish similar to Buri that might be easier to find in the Northeastern US?
you're grandmother is so good at cooking!! :o you should make videos with her more if she has recipes to show.. although they seem kinda hard for a failure of a cook like me ^^;
Looks like you and your grandma had a nice time together! :) I love daikon, and this looks delicious! Btw, your dresses are so cute! I wish I could find dresses like that in the U.S but sadly, our style is too plain... hehe
Well, I mean from the stores because I'm pretty petite so I'm kind of weery of buying clothes nonlinear because half of the stuff don't fit. But yes, yesstyle has really cute clothes!
Can you please make menma (pickled bamboo shoot) recipe? I've tried it out with ramen & it tastes really really good, it has a crunchy texture & a nice soy flavor... but it's hard to find menma here, so please make menma recipe. Arigatou ^^
You look so gorgeous in that green outfit! I love how everything matches, even the eye shadow! haha As far as 三温糖, the only brown sugar I've ever seen here looks like that. Do you know if 三温糖 is different than what we have in America?
which brand of soy sauce you used? can i use our local soy sauce(malaysian soy sauce) are pickled plums optional or can i substitute it with prunes? :D hehe i have to many question :D oh can i use apple vinegar?
You are amazing ! Thank You so much !

measure by eye.....
I just made the pickles. And end up really good, thanks so much Ochikeron for sharing this recipe. Hug n kiss
wow great XD thanks for trying out!

Oooooh that must taste soooo good on sandwhiches oooooo I want 0.0
Can you please make a kitkat sakura greentea or just the matcha green tea? Thank you btw i luv ur videos!

You look so gorgeous in that green outfit! I love how everything matches, even the eye shadow! haha
As far as 三温糖, the only brown sugar I've ever seen here looks like that. Do you know if 三温糖 is different than what we have in America?
yes i think it is different... so i hope you can get it at japanese stores. they have it!
Is this the same kind of pickled daikon one would use with Pad Thai?
Is there any thing else i can use if i don't have umeboshi?
