0:33 Steve Buscemi’s role as Plankton was an example of perfect casting. He was really able to run with it and make the character his own, and it really jumpstarted his acting career. If I remember correctly, the Coen Brothers discovered him while watching an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants on TV.
Can you pls explain, how does a picture of his face on a dollar imply that the episode would never have existed in this fake 80s sitcom version of the show?
@@cheechunlimited you didn’t understand their comment. They were implying that it was a “fictional” (i;e not something seen in the real cartoon) plot line where Mr. Krabs is either printing fake money or trying to get himself put on the bikini bottom dollar.
Not the AI did this. The AI does nothing. It's all human input. Artificial intelligence isn't intelligent at all, even though some stupid people brainwashed by today's media believe this. It's basically a fancy Google search and nothing else. You tell it what you want and it returns a result based on the data it has been trained on. Not more intelligent than Microsoft Paint, just more complex.
I mean, in Spongebob’s big birthday blowout, we actually kinda get a glimpse as to how that would be, as all the actors played their characters. I totally could picture it especially since they’d all be younger.
Actually Spongebob was born in ‘86 which means when the first season aired in 1999, he was 12-13 years old so that would mean he is around 36-37 y/o now.
Legendary 80s sitcom and made even more legendary when they remade it as a cartoon in the 90s. I remember it premiering after the 1999 Kids Choice Awards, just after Britney Spears performed.
My favorite episode was the one where Sandy jumped the shark. Some fans say that was when the show went over the top, but I think it's when things just started getting great
Imagine the day we're animating these images. Any voice actor could play anyone. It feels so strange to Imagine but its almost certain to be a part of our future cultures.
Spongebob is so timeless it could be set in almost any modern decade. The 80s is fitting considering that's probably when the writers and actors began their careers. And it's an old decade but not so old like the 50s or 60s to be unregonizable
Ok, this is how I think it would work out: 1) The series' name is "Live from Bikini Bottom" and it's set in the fictional coastal town of Bikini Bottom (duh), in an undisclosed part of the USA, at the tail end of the 80s. The city is known for the absurd shapes of its houses, and its inhabitants are certainly not know for being bright bulbs. 2) SpongeBob's character remains largely the same, but is renamed "Robert 'Bob' Fancypants" because of his enormous, characteristic brown pants. Also, Gary is a normal cat. And he still lives in a pineapple, only NEXT TO the sea. 3) Patrick is renamed Patrick Stark, and his characterization is closer to his animated counterpart in the first few season (as in dumb, but well-meaning). He works as a sign spinner for the Barg'n Mart (this would explain how the hell he manages to even survive) and lives in a rock shaped cabin. He serves as Bob's closest friend and "voice of reason", even though he's not exactly qualified for it. 3) Squidward is renamed Edward Thennacles, and maintains his grumpy and impatient behavior towards Bob and Patrick. A running gag sees other people constantly mispronouncing his last name. He largely remains the same character-wise, still lives in a moai and plays the clarinet, but it's implied to be divorced and rarely able to see his children. 4) The Krusty Krab, without the unfortunate implications of being under the sea, is now actually a fish restaurant, and the Krabby Patty is made out of crab meat, hence the name. Mr Krabs (whose name stays the same) remains similar to the original character, if not a bit more generous and human towards his employees. Pearl is now confirmed to be his adoptive daughter, and I guess she could be played by an African-American actress. The restaurant's shape is the same, and I'd say it even makes more sense now (a fish restaurant shaped like a crab trap). 5) Plankton is renamed Sheldon Platters. He still is Krabs' rival and a "brilliant" scientist, but all the jokes about his size are reworked or straight up removed. A running gag depicts him being thrown out of the Krusty Krab at each failed scheme. Karen and the Chum Bucket remain the same. He also wears an eyepatch, I guess. 6) Sandy stays largely the same. She still comes from Texas, something people around Bikini Bottom tend to point out, she's a brilliant scientist and acts as the only sane character in the show. All the jokes and implications of her living underwater are reworked into her being an outsider who recently moved in, for being both Texan and smarter than the average Bikini Bottom citizen. She lives in a self-made house built around a large oak tree. The episode "Tea at the treedom" replaces SpongeBob slowly dying for lack of water and trying to act fancy with Bob trying to act like a country boy, under Patrick's suggestion. Well, I guess that's it for now
Boooo Squidward for getting mildly irritated at Spongebob's extremely tedious antics. YAY Mr Krabs for having no code of ethics and only caring about money, going as far as selling Spongebob's soul for 25 cents!!!
Sandy smiles, and doesn't creep anyone out. Great job. Others, should pay attention. No one wants, monster teeth. Everyone, need not be frowning, also.

Pretty sure there's a Episode though in which SpongeBob gives Pearl a Fake Dollar for something (that Mr. Krabs pays him with) that has his Face on it

That's because we're used to seeing 30 year olds play teenagers. The second SpongeBob neatly fits that 80s archetype.
Bill Nighy owes his entire career to his breakout roll and Squidward.
Bill Nighy as Squidward and Steve Buscemi as Plankton
