You definitely have the power Christine, every time I need a tutorial for something, you never fail to post just the right tutorial for me within a few days of me looking on RUclips. I know there are plenty of great tutorials but I love to follow yours, I donated a lovely sewing machine to the Aged care facility where I work, so one of the residents who loves to sew can make some seat belt covers for their bus, for when they go on outings, I will get some snaps from spotlight and help her get them done. Thank you Christine, enjoy your visit with your mum, our mums are so so special.
O, it would be lovely to meet the Mom that created such a unique and lovely soul that we love to watch sew! Well, now that I found you I've watched you do different things. All lovely! Come on Mom, be brave! We will love you!❤
Great little project Christine. I need one of these to stop me from choking when I fall asleep in the car when my other half is driving. Have a nice time with you Mum. Thanks again. 😊
Can’t believe I got on here first! Another great little idea. I made a bunch of these for my friends kids. The belt always hits in the wrong spot for them. They are great! Yes, please do bring mum on, we can all say hi!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very good idea. I'm short so the seat belt goes right across my neck. This would certainly help. Would love to meet your Mom. Hopefully she would come on long enough to say hi. 😊
Thanks Christine. I made something similar for my car seatbelt. They always cut across my neck and are so uncomfortable. I think they design the seatbelts for taller people than 5 ft 1. Grrr. Yes , get your mum to join you on a video. That would be amazing. It would be so nice to meet her. I lost my mum 16 years ago. She was like my best friend. xx
I love the way you admit to being confused! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've been promising I would make one of these for the car so now I can. I prefer fluffy fabric because I am short and in the summer, the seat belt hits me right at the collar bone and hurts since I don't have a coat to protect me.
This is very timely. Many of us are flying with only carry-on luggage and it's packed a little heavier now. They could really elevate plain black luggage if done in the right colours. You could wrap a little handbag in there, or a scarf too. I've starting picking up ugly bags of which I love the design but not the fabric, from thrift shops. Often $1-5 depending on the size. Plan to take photos at each step as I dismantle them, and then use as patterns.
Great idea and also keeps the 2 straps together whilst on your shoulder. I've made the mistake of putting the popper on the wrong side - had to use flat pliers to get it off, but it worked 😁
I would love to meet you Mom. I make these seatbelt covers. I cut my fabric 7”x10” and use a polyester batting which is about an inch thick. I sew the Velcro on after I turn my fabric.
GREAT IDEA ESPECIALLY FOR CARRYING THINGS ..HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH YOUR MOTHER, MOTHERS ARE TO BE TREASURED AND SPOILED...ENJOY HER COMPANY AND HER SMILES..(MESSAGE TO YOUR MOM....MAMACITA IT WILL BE GREAT TO MEET THE WOMEN WHO GAVE BIRTH TO AN EXTRODINARY WOMEN WITH AMAZING TALENTS..IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE YOU IN ONE OF HER VIDEOS AT LEAST FOR 5 MIN.... BE BLESSED!
Great idea thank you. You might like to change the title of the video to baggage? I’m sure it was a cunning ploy to see who is paying attention rather than a mistake😀 I understand these comfort straps can be more comfortable for people who have had a sore place after a port being used in chemotherapy.
Hi Christine, I’ve seen those snaps before but never the type of tool to clamp them down. What is it called? I’d like to try to get one. Thank you for all your great ideas ❤😘
Did you do that Joy? 😄 You could make it a design feature by removing the rogue snap, replace the hole with an eyelet, or even blanket stitch around it to make a little daisy. Then add a few more for effect😁
no I have not done that as of yet but if i did a solution would be great i think it could be possible that i just might do that mistake lol 🤣@@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@joyfuljoy5711 if it's plastic, try the tip of the iron to melt it, but with fabric between. If you have one of those big presses that I use for eyelets, you can put snaps between it sideways and press a couple of times. It should come off easily. Pliers or sidecutters work too😁
If you enjoyed this video & feel like giving something back to the channel, you can do that here..... www.buymeacoffee.com/stitchthisr
Mom, we want to meet you! Greetings from Bowie, Maryland.
Have a wonderful visit with your Mom! She raised a lovely, talented, kind and generous daughter.
Thank you, that's so lovely😁

I confuse myself all the time Joyce, and it's usually with simple things😁

I do this too Zee. I have one pulled apart, and looking for time to recreate it. Same with leather jackets and pants😁
Oh my I’ve been wanting to make one. So much easier than I thought. Thanks
Thanks Teresa😁
Great idea and also keeps the 2 straps together whilst on your shoulder. I've made the mistake of putting the popper on the wrong side - had to use flat pliers to get it off, but it worked 😁
They can be a pain to get off too😁
Yes, would love to meet your mom. I make these seat belt covers.i do make mine longer and use poly batting and Velcro. Very popular
Yes, longer is better Mary😁
Great tutorial...Thank you Christine 💕🥰
Thanks Sue😁
That's so easy to make thank u. I think it will make a nice gift if I make matching ones for someone's car.❤
That's a lovely idea Eileen😁
I would love to meet you Mom. I make these seatbelt covers.
I cut my fabric 7”x10” and use a polyester batting which is about an inch thick. I sew the Velcro on after I turn my fabric.
Thanks Robin. I agree, longer would be better😁

Hi Christine, enjoy your Mum's visit. Would you be able to do a few different types of book marks, please?
They're on the list Diane. I did a corner one a while back, and another recently that has a pen pouch😁
Thanks Christine i like the snaps best
Me too Pamela😁
Fabulous! I need to make some of those
And I absolutely love how you show the different ways of making them
Thanks Sheila😁
We would love to meet your mom!
Thanks Eileen😁

You're welcome Cynthia. Thank you😊
Great idea!! Thank you!

Haha thanks Andrew. Of course it was a cunning ploy. Surely I'd never make a mistake 🤪🤪
Well spotted😁
Hi 😊
Hi Betty😁
QUESTION: I've been meaning to ask you, are those little clips you use in place of pins, baby hair barrettes? They have them in the dollar store here.
Zee, they're commonly known as Wonder clips which is a brand by Clover, but there are much cheaper products available on Ebay and Amazon😁
Hi Christine, I’ve seen those snaps before but never the type of tool to clamp them down. What is it called? I’d like to try to get one. Thank you for all your great ideas ❤😘
Elayne, it's a kam snap plier tool😁
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs 👍 thanks!
So good!! My daughter is 3 and in a car seat. How do i make 2 small ones that go on car seat straps?
Try this version first to learn the technnique, then measure up for the smaller straps😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs it feels scary - first project

🪡🪡🪡🚙🛍🙂🥰 thank you i have a question what can you do if you did place the snap wrong ,how would you fix that 😁?💕💕❓❓❓❓❓😁

@@joyfuljoy5711 haha, it's definitely something I'm likely to do 😀
@@ChristinesHomeAffairs but how do you remove the bummed up snap?
@joyfuljoy5711 if it's plastic, try the tip of the iron to melt it, but with fabric between.
If you have one of those big presses that I use for eyelets, you can put snaps between it sideways and press a couple of times. It should come off easily. Pliers or sidecutters work too😁
I hate velcro, so use the snaps instead. They are so much quicker, less sewing, and also keeps your costs down.🌷
Totally agree Leah😁
C'mon Mom, lets see you on a video.
Come on mom. Do a video with your daughter. That would be special.
haha, thanks Melanie😁
Nice. MOM...we'd really like to meet you! Promise we won't bite, but we'll beg! Oh PLEEESE ..pretty PLEEESE?
haha, I wanna see you bite😁
