- This week on the OnGreenShow I try to make the 1987 TMNT figures look like the actual 1987 TMNT Cartoon. I'm not using the original 1988 turtle figures, rather I have the widely available remakes. I had the original Ninja Turtle figures when I was a kid so I never planned on customizing these guys that I've for a few years but as I've been repeatedly seeing them on the store shelves I thought I should make mine look how I always kinda wished they looked... Like the actual 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon... I've listed my amazon links for most of the stuff I used below, Thanks for watching.

The first thing I remember doing with my vintage turtles was to draw them pupils :D

Me too. Altho Mikey was prolly the only one I intentionally made crosseyed.
That green that they're casting the Raph reissues in is TERRIBLE, not even close to the '88 original. You made them look way cooler, great job!

They turned out amazing! I’m a sucker for variants using the same molds. Like in this case, repainting the toy molds to match a different media instead of resculpting or retooling anything, that make sense? lol. I really dig what you did here!
Thanks dude, ya I follow, sometimes like in this case that’s all they need. Alternatively I think they used the actual physical molds and they decayed over time leaving a lot of defects on my figures that the originals didn’t have. Mikey’s one hand looks like it was chewed up by a dog, so I’m a little sour about that.
if they look like that they be so cool and if you design tmnt figres they be sold out

Gran trabajo, han quedado muy bien! 😃✨ Menos mal que son reproducciones, de todos modos las originales con el plástico que usaban serían complicadas de customizar pero ni vale la pena porque ya son geniales.
Intentaron venderme estas "repros" de Donnie y Raph en una feria de juguete a 60€ cada uno.. Con el mismo cuidado con el que las cogí las volví a depositar en su estante😆
Thanks Misaori, yeah the originals are a harder plastic and they also have smaller more focused looking eyes. Plus this repo Raph is a weird colour, he was begging to be painted since I got him
These look great! I wouldn't have the nerve to repaint figures beautiful I'd never be satisfied with my work. Why didnt you give them pupils?
Thanks dude, pupils are the part that I don’t have the nerve for. If I do pupils I have to remember to do them at the beginning so when I mess them up I can repaint them but I never think of it till the end and it’s too risky

Yeah that woulda looked good but I left the masks the original colour cause I like to leave something original but mostly so I could tell who’s who after I put the primer on
