January 2019, my husband and I went onboard Riviera for a 10 day cruise from Miami for our 50th anniversary celebration. Being a vegetarian for over 30 years, I brought to the attention of the head waiter and the head chef that there were no VÉGÉTARIEN dishes on the main dining room menu. I was told "chefs are not going to go out of their way to cook anything that is not on the menu. you can always order an appetizer or a salad". Even though we booked a Concierge room and yet, I felt very much like a second class passenger, it truly spoiled our celebration. Since then, I have traveled with Royal Caribbean, NCL, and Celebrity, never never again with Oceania! My Oceania experience was never "MY WAY", what a joke!
I am sorry that for such a special occasion, your dining needs could not be accommodated. We are about to do our 45th anniversary. We also are avid cruisers and have sailed all the brands and more that you have listed above. My question or concern based on your experience with cruising is simple. Did you ask and send your Dietary needs to the Oceania prior to your sailing? Base on them not going out of their way to accommodate your request, I would say not. Being a Vegetarian is a unique need compared to the masses. Yet in most cases it is a choice. My son has to eat Gluten free and that is a diagnosed health issue and is always accommodated. I know, I always contact the cruise line first to avoid what happened to you. If you would have determined upfront that your needs would NOT be accommodated, you would have chosen another brand. Although I respect your right to complain on a social media platform, I also think you should hold yourself partially to blame. I have NO skin in this game. I just know, something as important as my food needs are not something anyone should leave to chance. Again, so sorry for your experience.
