You caught a lot, well done. a couple of things to point out. You pointed some out then forgot, such as the Paladins scrounger check in Verneck. You added +1 but later remembered the -1 from Chain armor cancelling it out. Maelis has her own personal mission as she is a hero of the novel. Great choice and worth working towards. Well done catching the correct VP points. Maelis 14, Bosco11 and the Paladin 10. Maybe worth pointing out that at the end of a mission you do not get back health, mana and fortune points. For that you need to rest. Also, as you showed at the start, Maelis has herbalist skill. You get a potion at the start of the mission but you must use it or lose it. You do not keep it. When you start, you make a encounter roll for the plains. Unnecessary. As you start in the region, you only make the city (city, not castle) roll. you used the city deck but called it a castle roll. Brutal city encounter, though you did not lose the item from each hero. You were correct going north. plains roll leaving the city and a forest roll for in the next province before the dungeon. But... You rolled a 1. That reveals the side quest in that region! At the tavern it should have been a random hero as per the card. Yes, you would choose your highest IQ, but any scammers would hunt your lowest IQ, so go with the random. Note the money tokens. gold tokens are worth 5 gold, silver are only worth 1. Although you may have left it out for simplicity, maybe bring it in next video, when you rest you need to roll a d6 per 19vp of the party, rounding up. Each 6 adds a danger marker to the campaign map. These move towards you each turn. As others said, use the app for mystery and hiding details. combine with the game for sure. I do that. Obstacles. You do not pay for cards if they cannot be played, though you do get the points back as shown by the lower right. In the first room it costs 2 movement points to go up the stairs. Also on the big staircase, going up to the first floor, you should use 2 movement per square. Your mage can only cast each spell twice as she is an apprentice, until she has 15vps. Then it is 3. Note her damage spells are also one die left because of this. When you rolled for the big room you should add 2. one for the large room and another for your above 30vps. Note surprise is only for figures within 6 squares. It worked here but is a point to note. You cannot cast while adjacent to an enemy. Granted you may allow this since you caught him by surprise and from behind but As a general rule, an Action may not be performed while within an enemy's Melee Range or adjacent to one, except when so indicated in the Action itself. casting spells is not one of them. When the bandit shot Maelis with the crossbow, you rolled a 6 on the attack die so should have rolled 5 die and not just 4 due to the crit. The fireplace should have been read and rollefd for in the begin of the encounter for the large room. Darkness could have changed it slightly. And then the final room. Do remember that there is always an encounter there. Also, since you have not had an encounter in the last two rooms, you should roll twice for an extra encounter. That last room can get busy. Good luck with the final room. I am looking forward to it. This was a great, positive and fun video to watch. Keep it up.
Great play through! Please keep it going. Adding to the stair movement rules, a character cannot move diagonally onto the stairs. I’m just beginning to get into the game and really appreciate the work you’ve put into this!
Perfect timing Bairnt! I've just spent a week of evenings reading the rulebook 😅, having just bought a copy of DUN secondhand and am just about the start the first scenario with my newly generated characters. I love watching all your playthroughs, you bring so much enthusiasm to the table!
Thanks for the video! It was very entertaining and didactic. I will be getting the third edition in a few weeks and, these videos help to make the wait easier. (sorry for my English, I'm using the translator). Let's go for the next video! Cheers!
The Squeaky Bug might be a good name for an inn or more probably it's what the patrons call the inn after an uncomfortable and sleepless night in the infested beds! lol Thanks Bairnt. Great fun to watch. Looking forward to the next instalment!
Watched your play through today. Your style and explanation are very good. I really enjoyed watching and now have to decide my pledge. I’m very excited after watching this and very much looking forward to ep2.
Congratulations on a great video. You are right. This is a toolbox and we see other people make their own game out of this. Please note any errors I point out are not criticism but something to make you aware of. This is a great tutorial way for people to learn the game and the comments are an important part of this. I am so looking forward to more videos. Hope you enjoy the game as much as we do
Thank you Paul all your help has been amazing. I appreciate all the help and will be pinning your next post to help others learn the game thank you so much. 😃😃👍
One other rules observation: attacked characters wielding a missile weapon count as unarmed (which lowers their combat by 1 for the opposed roll) - see 49 (Ranged weapons used in melee).
Really enjoying this playthrough. A couple of things I spotted on the playthrough, worth mentioning. The Scroungers you encountered early on in the Inn stole 1 coin from each Hero but should also have stolen one random object from each hero's backpack which I think you forgot to do. The dial you use for the ADP Reserve Point counter was created for counting Leader or Creature (large ones, like Dragons or Giants) wounds although it's still a bit odd why it doesn't have digits 0 - 9
Oh thank for the help Carl!!! The community has been a big help so far. I’ll make sure to mention this in the next video. Thank you for the help. Glad I could get this to the table for you😃😃👍
I was hesitant to back DUN because I kept reading people complaining about all the rules but that really didn't seem that bad. Maybe I'm used to games like Middara where you have a fair amount of modifiers and cards to track. I think I'll end up backing this. Great playthrough!
OH MY GOD YOU DID IT ! Thank you! This game is so opaque, and I do not know if it's sth for me, that I'm glad to see finally a high quality gameplay video from it :)
I really like the look of this. I already have Darklight Memento Mori, which is basically the most incredible one-man love letter to OG Warhammer Quest, and this looks to be that game’s equivalent love letter to Advanced HeroQuest.
One of the best dungeon crawlers out there. I am wondering if it's possible to make a playthrough of darklight memento mori? looks like a good dungeon crawler
Great video as always hope to see more and other character cards in the future. I may try out playing as the troll, orc, or even the ogre character or create my own character
@@OneStopCoopShop now the race that caught my eye is bird folk with flying skill since that would be powerful and op skill to have and just fly and be ranged character and just stay up in sky and not be hit or it you can't do that but idk but love to see a video that shows the bird folk and flying skill make sure I pick the right character
I have been put off DU by the amount of material. However, seeing your playthrough has made me reconsider and I will check out the reprint campaign when it starts. Cheers.
Thank you for this very thorough playthrough. Do you have a review of what you think about t his especially as compared to the large amount of Dungeon Crawls and RPGs that are in the market?
This game looks really neat, but I am concerned about the upkeep. Is there a ton? For example, can't visit an Inn for one year. How do you keep track of that? Thanks again for all your videos!
This is true I could use the app. I wanted everyone to see the game experience out of the box. With out the app. I’ll show it off in the next video. Thank For the Greta comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍
Watched the first 30 mins thinking all the rules.. 3 heroes ..argh.. too much.. then watched the rest of the video thinking I could do that. You make it look easy. I think I would rather play only one hero but don’t know if that really is do able. Set up looks like it would take forever.
I will say there is a lot going on. Good size rule book to read. And quite A bit of setup. Once you get it all down. It’s moves along. With the system being more of a fluid thing if you miss a rule or two not the end of the world. Thanks Johnny 😃😃👍
This game looks very interesting. Though there seems to be some rules that I find off-putting. Howbeit, I am looking at this through the lens of being a veteran DM of D&D, so perhaps I should cut it some slack. I may want to pick up a copy after a reprint is available. Can anyone offer insight on their experiences with this game?
Oh no! I've been wondering about this and really really didn't want to add another massive game to my collection. Please tell me it sucks. :) Just kidding (sort of).
Please take your time explaining things this is an hour and a half video and that's totally fine if it was a bit longer. Just seemed like you were trying to rush things. This game has very little coverage and it seems complicated. Really appreciate your efforts here and would love to see more.

Slight notice that the tavern card said "Random" Hero, so you probably should have rolled to choose the hero first before rolling. 29:07

That's the one! Thank you so much :)@@OneStopCoopShop
When you rolled the oathsworn die for initiative it technically crit. U should have added another black die ;)

You should use the app. This way you spawn rooms when you open the doors. It really adds to the sense of exploration
What's app called may have to try it out
