I wonder if android auto is not activated this system also works without android auto. on the car's tablet I only have the app connect icon, it's a 2020 a4 that doesn't work android auto by wire or any other way. especially since the people from the Audi representative do not know the solution in my country. Crazy how some cars now a days still don’t come with wireless apple CarPlay. Seems like it should be something that all manufacturers should do. Either way awesome vid and congrats on the sponsor
Should be universal at this point haha but many companies offer it now. But this is a good alternative!

Manufacturers are still using halogen bulbs. LEDs have become so cheap to produce there’s zero reason for something that actually affects safety and the crazy up charge on top of it.
Its not crazy. For me it was the semiconductor worldwide shortage that many car company arr struggling with. I had to wait 8 month for my new Audi A1. If I wanted i reversed camera, and wireless connection they told be I had to wait for several more month. So I opted to just wait for my 8 month and then just do after market installations.

How will one overcharge his iPhone? Charging control is actually a build in function since like years. You reach 80% and it simply stops automatically.
Been using the u2air pro for a while now but so far I cannot figure out what the GPS MODE 1 does when you log into the web ui for upgrading the firmware and whatnot, they write nothing about it in their user manual.
I would expect a troubleshooting section that goes trough these settings but that's nowhere to be seen
Can you listen to music through the car source media and have this running as well?
Hi, it did not work for me. I specifically returned it because of that reason. First, the unit was seen as a Carplay adapter while using an Android device and second, I had to choose between either a media connection or my built in infotainment unit, not both. And yes, I tried that both as splitscreen or not (Kona EV)
How’s the audio with this? Lose connection sometimes or clear ?
So far so good. Very clear and signal hasn’t dropped on me once

If you have a 16 you should have CarPlay/android auto already once you connect t your phone to the car via usb under the climate controls
@@DArias Unfortunately not. I only have usb in the arm rest space nothing below the climate control. It's an audi a3 etron 2016 model. Don't know why some models have some not.

This device no but ottocast does sell their play2video which lets you watch RUclips and Netflix etc! My link takes you to their home page there you can see the different devices they have for different uses!

I want to verify how this would work for my vw mk6. I plan to get the rcd330 187B radio that has carplay. I would have to get the usb socket port and solder it to the radio in order to plug this device in?
If you’re good with soldering then yes that would be essentially the path to go down or you’d have it hanging off the radio which obviously isn’t ideal

A question. I'm currently doing some research on these adapters and I'm not really sure how they work. Let's take this Ottocast, for instance. Does the device have an OS on it (like CarPlay / Android Auto) that, once you connect to the car, that's what you use? Or does it use the Android Auto / CarPlay on your phone (via Bluetooth) that it then displays on the car? Or does it use the Android Auto / CarPlay on the car itself?
Would really like to know. Because if it uses the Android Auto / Car Play on the phone (which would make sense), then that's exactly what I want. My phone has great specs and would have low lag compared to the native Android Auto on my car.
your comment was 3 months ago. I'll tell you how it works. It is not an operation with a built-in adapter. It integrates seamlessly into the car's original system and technically bypasses app authentication (CarPlay/Android Auto). It is just a built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi adapter. Just one rule: If your car has built-in wired OEM Apple Carplay and/or Android Auto (check official website for compatible), you can use an adapter. There is an iOS on your iPhone that uses the CarPlay app that runs it through a car's system. So basically an adapter just carry and display on your car system.
Your second question I can answer that. It has nothing to do with your car's native Android Auto. It is your car that comes with OEM Android auto system and hardware specifications (some low-end or high-end hardware). For example, I have two vehicles, a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and a 2023 KIA Sportage Hybrid. My 2023 Sportage has a much quicker response than this video. and it's just an instant pop-up Carplay/Android Auto Display. my old hyundai 2017 has a little lag and the pop up screen is slow.

Not sure what car you have but for example my Audi and vw steering wheel controls function like normal with this

It’s minimal tbh! Really no delays or lags in the communication. Product is very responsive even when using maps

No way it will work. It requires the car to have Apple Carplay, which was only launched in 2014. The purpose of this gadget is to allow wireless connection to cars that only have wired Apple Carplay.

Unfortunately no! It’s just a normal CarPlay adapter so uses the features that the ace already has. There are def other devices with capabilities that can jump the main car components to be able to watch RUclips videos and hulu etc

This is just a wireless CarPlay adapter this won’t give you a feature to watch videos while driving. It’s just a device for convenience of not having your phone plugged in 24/7

It's a shit product. Burned up and seller wont respond to emails. Wasted 120 dollars
Could have been a defective unit so not sure. Haven’t had any issues with mine for months of using almost everyday. I would email again or see if there’s a customer service number to call directly
