Why didn't you come up in my searches till now? Miguel, You Are Wonderful!! Do you have any idea how many 20 and 30 minute videos I've watched, tried my best to do what they instruct, and still can't get windows 11 OFF a laptop I bought as a back up? Right now, I'm using an older HP (windows 10), it's okay, but I absolutely HATE microsoft. I've had a chance to do a little with Ubuntu on someone else's laptop, and LOVED it!! That was a year ago. I asked that individual for help, he couldn't, told me he had to pay someone to do it. I don't have the $200 to spare for that. Also, I've learned NOT to trust these pc repair shops around here (especially since two of them got caught installing spyware on customer's computers). Dude, your tutorial is Precise, to the point, short (which to me, is a Big Winner), and you made Everything Easy to Understand (for this 63 year old, anyway). My Hat Off To You Sir and Many Thanks.
Thank you for this. Had done a dual boot option on an old laptop before but that was ages ago. This clear explanation was exactly the reminder I needed to get my head right on what to do with the least possible frustration. 🙏
Dude, you saved me. Thank you so much for this! Moving completely away from MS and with their latest update, it was making it VERY difficult. Even had to recover UEFI before moving forward. Thanks again!!
After using Windows 10 Home on an inexpensive Dell Inspiron 15-3552 with an Intel Celeron N3060 system on a chip for over five or six years (I do not know if I got the computer in either December 2016 or December 2017), I finally decided I had enough of Windows on that system as I turned my Late 2015 iMac into a Windows 10 Pro machine. I ended up removing Windows 10 Home that was pre-installed with the Dell machine, and I ended up installing a Linux distro known as Linux Mint.
I guess no one has found a way to completely delete or format a single operating system from pc, of course untill and unless the hard disk is replace with new ones. But I really wish there is a way to do that without replacing the hard-disk.
I have a question about an older net book HP mini. I would like to upgrade it to be a faster machine as it is the slowest ever just now. It runs windows 7 badly. The motherboard has the Intel atom and can only take 2g max memory.i want to put Ubuntu and run Linux get rid of windows all together would this work or is there another motherboard to fit this machine
Hello currently I didn't have any os in my pc I have bootable pendrive of unbuntu iso I am going to follow your few steps if you have any other suggestions let me know
Migual! I can’t press anything, move my mouse or even press the power button to turn my laptop off. I am at the part where you just restarted the computer and can either try or install Ubuntu.
After this installation, do you actually have Ubuntu as your main OS or are you just running this from a Virtual Machine so you can switch between windows 11 and Ubuntu whenever you want.
I replaced windows with Ubuntu Linux just yesterday and this was very nice tutorial... But can i get my data that was stored in windows after switching to Ubuntu linux? Because i even don't have back-up, please help me
Didn't work for me, the first fail was from the download, I had to go with the 04 version as 10 wouldn't download. then my laptop refuses to acknowledge the USB stick as a bootable device.
So, I did the installation, removed the installation media but now I can not boot into linux. It has problems with the MOK, i get several issues resulting in Volume full and the PC turns off . Any ideas ? :)
Sir my laptop is provided by collage with ubuntu but I removed it and installed windows 11 now my laptop isn't supporting the windows, can I remove it again and reinstall ubuntu
Don't we have disk paritioning steps or choosing the disk for where to install Ubuntu? I want Ubuntu to be installed in SSD and in these steps, I didn't see you were given similar options.
How different is this for Windows 10? Also, if I were to do this on my Windows 11 machine and I choose the "Install Ubuntu alongside Windows Boot Manger" option, it looks like I wouldn't lose anything I have on my machine it would just have both Ubuntu and Windows 11, is that correct? Thanks
For me it wont install on ssd but on usb.... Cant install it on ssd even when i manually create partitions following steps on internet. Whats the point of os that can run only on usb.
Thanks for the video. My laptop has 2 different SSDs one for Ubuntu and Win11. Now if enter my ASUS TUF A15 BIOS (press F2) to select the device to boot from... usually my laptop boots into Ubuntu. Question: If I select from bios to boot Windows 11.... but once I have Win11 running, lets say there is a Win11 and Nvidia driver update....will these updates corrupt my Ubuntu boot drive? Should I go into Laptop BIOS and select Win11 as first SSD to boot from if I plan to do an update... so when it restarts during the update it will choose the right SSD? I am just concerned about this updates and would like to know the safe way to upgrade Win11. Thank you.
I had dual OS with windows 10 and ubuntu. After following steps you showed, at 3:47 when I entered Ubuntu, it was absolute black screen and computer recursively went back to the page. Can someone pelase figure out the case?
I have an older laptop has a 30gb hard drive and is full with just the Windows 10 OS. Can you tell me how many gb it takes to run Ubuntu? I am hoping to free up space using a more streamlined OS
After I have installed Ubuntu, what if I want to change to Linux Mint? Like if I'm trying to test out different distros to see which one suits me the best.
I can't get my computer to boot from the USB. I've done everything you stated, including making the usb a priority in the line up, and it still not work. So frustrating!!!
It doesn't if your BIOS doesn't support that type of setting, specially for old motherboards. If you want yo boot with your USB you should do it manually in the BIOS its not that hard just look for a tutorial.
bye bye windows, i always hated all ur apps and your updates. I hope this is my last video on win11.
does it completely removed the windows 11 with all windows data?
the shift restart instruction at 2:09 was the game changer, thank you so much!

you can boot from the ubuntu usb and remove the windows partitions and then realocate the freed up space to your ubuntu partition if you want.

Can we use same process for installing parrots os ?

I'm having a black screen with a dash blinking on top left corner

What's the space required to be free in pen drive? 85 GB or some 4-5GB?
What if we select C drive instead of E?

You do partition only when dual booting not when replacing windows with ubuntu

It says Checking Media, and then crashes or whatever it does. It just doesn't install (btw Windows 10)

It doesn't if your BIOS doesn't support that type of setting, specially for old motherboards. If you want yo boot with your USB you should do it manually in the BIOS its not that hard just look for a tutorial.
